Yutsuki and Shido walked out of the sushi restaurant, patting their stomachs with happy, satisfied expressions on their faces.
"Caviar sushi is seriously out of this world. It's expensive, but having it once in a while is pretty nice."
Shido said, licking his lips as he rembered the taste.
"They even had pudding and cake ready for dessert. It really is a nice place."
"Let's invite everyone to co eat here next ti."
Hearing Shido's suggestion, Yutsuki smiled and nodded.
"That's a good idea for you, Shido. But I need to correct you on one thing. We ca to eat conveyor belt sushi. Not just sushi!"
"Is there really a difference? The ingredients are the sa, and the chefs making it are the sa people."
Seeing Yutsuki correct him with a serious face, Shido couldn't help but retort.
"Of course there is!"
Yutsuki sighed lightly, a hint of loneliness appearing on her face. "I rember in my past life, eating sushi was basically just sothing you did at business dinners. Honestly, it felt more like work than enjoynt. Other than that, it was just ordering sushi delivery to eat at ho sotis. So, I always wanted to try authentic Japanese conveyor belt sushi. Who knew that on my very first day in Japan, I'd accidentally die."
Yutsuki was soone who had died in an accident in Japan and then, for so weird reason, reincarnated into this world as a Spirit. This was a secret Yutsuki had told Shido; a secret only the two of them knew.
"Uh... sorry."
Realizing he said the wrong thing, Shido lowered his head in apology. At first, Shido thought Yutsuki ant it was her first ti at a conveyor belt sushi place because she usually didn't go out unless necessary. He didn't expect her to be talking about her past life.
"Well, it's not that big of a deal. Actually, with you apologizing so seriously, Shido, I'm the one feeling awkward now."
Yutsuki scratched her cheek with a bitter smile.
Honestly, "Saved a kid and my ani figure, dodged two cars, then slipped on a banana peel, almost hit my head on a rock, got saved by a careless god, but then they forgot to put a shield on , so I got shredded to death by space." —Dying young for such a ridiculous reason, and then being turned into a girl and thrown into a world she knew nothing about, living in hiding as a natural disaster hated by humans. If Yutsuki really wanted to complain, even cutting down all the trees on Earth to make paper wouldn't be enough to write it all down.
But even so, Yutsuki had found her most precious things in this world.
"Hey, Shido, our date isn't over yet, is it?"
"Yeah. Whatever you want to do next, Yutsuki, I'll go with you."
Hearing Shido's words, a happy smile appeared on Yutsuki's face.
"Then, there's a place I want to go next."
"Where?"
"You'll see when we get there."
Without answering Shido's question, Yutsuki took Shido's hand and walked in the opposite direction of the noisy streets, leaving Shido looking confused.
Finally, Yutsuki led him to the high platform in Tengu City Park where they had t before. Because it was a bit out of the way and quiet, there were basically no people around at this ti. From here, you could see the night view of all of Tengu City.
"Yutsuki, why did we co here?"
Shido asked, a bit confused.
"What's wrong? Haven't we been here a bunch of tis? The view is nice, right?"
"Yeah... it is."
Shido nodded.
"Well, actually, besides looking at the pretty view, this place has another use."
"Another use?"
Seeing Shido looking completely lost, the corners of Yutsuki's mouth curled up. She took a few steps forward, held onto the railing, leaned over, and took a deep breath.
"Why is communicating between humans and Spirits so annoyingggggg!"
Shido was startled by Yutsuki's sudden, loud scream.
"Yutsuki? What are you..."
"Phew—As you can see, sound doesn't reach the city from here, and it's very open. Yelling here is a great way to let out stress."
Yutsuki breathed out and said naturally.
"Mhm... I see..."
Shido sweatdropped. Although he didn't know exactly what Yutsuki was complaining about, if she had built up stress without him knowing, Shido felt it was his failure.
"Sorry..."
"Don't go taking on weird responsibilities on your own. This is my own problem."
Yutsuki tapped Shido on the head in annoyance and said to him.
"You should yell a bit too, Shido. You might be surprised by how much stress you've built up."

Shido smiled bitterly and shook his head. He held onto the railing and enjoyed the view in the distance.

"I kept telling you I didn't see anything, why won't you believe eeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!"

Natsumi, hiding who knows where, rubbed her nose, feeling a bit annoyed.

"Phew... hah—"
After slowly breathing out, Shido cald his sowhat rapid breathing. He saw Yutsuki looking at him with a aningful gaze. Realizing what he had just done, a stiff smile appeared on Shido's face.
"How is it? Feel much more refreshed, right?"
"Y-Yeah... definitely more refreshed..."
Shido nodded awkwardly.
Hearing Shido's answer, a relieved expression appeared on Yutsuki's face.
"That's good. Seeing you look so worried and pushing yourself so hard these past few days, I was really worried."
"Ah... you noticed."
Shido scratched his hair awkwardly. Knowing that people around him were disappearing from the world one by one because of him, yet having no clues at all to solve Natsumi's problem—the pressure Shido carried was unimaginable. Honestly, Shido himself thought he was hiding it well. He didn't expect Yutsuki to have noticed it.
"Of course. I'm always watching over everyone... and you, Shido."
Yutsuki gave a light chuckle and answered matter-of-factly.
"Yutsuki..."
Looking at Yutsuki's face with a gentle smile, Shido felt a mix of complex emotions in his heart.
After a mont of silence, Shido finally made up his mind to tell Yutsuki about Natsumi. Yutsuki was soone who had reincarnated once, and was male in her past life. She had only ever told this to Shido. Natsumi shouldn't have any way of knowing this.
Although there was a possibility that Natsumi could gain a person's mories after transforming into them, if that were the case, Natsumi should have known that he really didn't see anything when she disguised herself as Shido.
Most importantly, Shido simply couldn't believe that the unique thoughtfulness the girl in front of him was showing him was fake.
