"Hah... Hah..."
Back to the present. Ryougi Yutsuki stood on the ruined earth, staring at Origami floating in the sky, panting haggardly.
"Damn it... Not a single intention of holding back, huh. That bastard Tobiichi Origami."
Wiping a bloodstain from the corner of her mouth, Yutsuki complained with a bitter smile.
Honestly, this could be considered the hardest battle Ryougi Yutsuki had fought since coming to this world.
The inverted Origami perfectly demonstrated to Ryougi Yutsuki what overwhelming violence truly ant.
No sches, no techniques. Relying purely on the terrifying attack power of the 'Demon King of Salvation' and the massive Spirit power possessed by a complete Spirit. Tobiichi Origami manipulated her Black Wings, attacking Yutsuki madly. The overwhelming, relentless barrage of laser cannons left Yutsuki absolutely no opening to counterattack.
If it weren't for Ratziel's suddenly awakened future prediction ability, and using Brunhild to control her Territory for evasion and defense, Ryougi Yutsuki would have died no less than a thousand tis over by now.
Moreover, what truly put pressure on Yutsuki wasn't just this.
"————!"
In the sky, the pitch-black Demon King let out an incomprehensible shriek, as if roaring, yet also as if crying. The despairing killing intent within it seed to transmit straight into Yutsuki's heart like sound waves.
"Damn it..."
Yutsuki gritted her teeth tightly. Suppressing the impulses welling up in her heart, she used every ounce of her strength to deal with the attacks from Satan surrounding her.
After coming to this world, Yutsuki had fought against many enemies aiming to kill her. Over ti, she gradually learned to sense that thing called killing intent.
So held ideals of protecting the world from the disaster of Spirits, so their killing intent appeared righteous; so had their families ruined by Spirits, so their killing intent was full of hatred and resentnt; so rely enjoyed the thrill of fighting Spirits, their killing intent even containing excitent and joy; and so, like Ellen, had an aggressive and deadly killing intent simply born from being overwhelmingly strong.
But from Origami at this mont, all Yutsuki could feel was—despair.
The guilt of killing her parents, the confusion of her lifelong goal becoming aningless, the helplessness of cutting off all avenues of retreat... It was as if heaven had played a malicious joke on her, pushing Origami to a cliff where only destruction remained.
Destroy! Destroy! Destroy! This world! Everything! Including myself!
To Yutsuki, confronting Origami right now, this killing intent felt as if Origami's remaining consciousness was begging Yutsuki to quickly end her.
"Hah... What a pain..."
Withstanding another wave of attacks from Satan, the ch on Yutsuki's body had beco extrely battered. The armor that originally glead with a tallic luster looked very dull.
[Warning! Warning! ch performance degradation has reached 78%. Danger! Evacuation advised.]
The warning voice of Brunhild ringing in her ears told Yutsuki that her newly acquired partner was about to give out.
"Haha... Although I've tried my best to stall for ti, as expected, it'll be bad if I don't make a decision soon."
Yutsuki muttered to herself with a bitter smile.
"Shido... hurry up."
"Satan—Artelif."
Seemingly tired of the other party's stubborn persistence, the Black Wings scattered in the air gathered in front of Origami, forming a crown like ring. Pitch black Spirit power constantly gathered at the muzzle.
[Calculation initiated—Future Prediction activated.]
At the sa ti, the dark blue longbow in Yutsuki's hand, after flashing with a strange light, showed Yutsuki the future a few seconds later.
—A bombardnt like a pillar of light blasted a bottomless crater into the area with a radius of three or four kiloters.
If that hit, she would definitely be dead.
(Sigh—Can't stall any longer?)
Making this judgnt, Yutsuki detached the weapon fixed to the ch on her back.
'Einherjar'—a long spear with a blade ford by lasers made of magic.
From beginning to end, although Yutsuki had been piloting Brunhild, she never used its attached weapons, instead insisting on fighting with Ratziel.
"Lancers always have E-rank luck." That might be a slight reason, but more importantly, it was due to a specific characteristic this long spear possessed—magic absorption.
Wizards' equipnt varies. For example, Ellen's high-output laser sword, Caledfwlch, uses pure magic to form the blade, maximizing its power. Mana's Wolftail covers the sword with a layer of her own magic; although slightly less powerful than Caledfwlch, it consus less energy.
This Einherjar, on the other hand, can gather the magic dispersed on the battlefield. The more magic it gathers, the more powerful it becos.
Of course, this ability also worked on Spirit power.
Originally, the design theory of this weapon was to maximize endurance, allowing the user to continuously gather magic during battle to maintain high combat power in a prolonged fight. But at this mont, Yutsuki chose another way to use it.
The blade of the long spear had turned completely black like ink. The powerful and violent Spirit power seed to exceed Einherjar's storage limit, overflowing from the spear tip and turning into an ominous black mist wrapping around the shaft.
[Comncing operation... Structural modification... Spirit power synchronization... Compression... Complete.]
Blue white lightning perated the long spear. In just a single breath's ti, Einherjar's outer shell rapidly cracked and peeled off, turning into a pitch black arrow in Yutsuki's hand.
As if made of obsidian, a murky dark light flowed throughout the arrow.
Unlike the Yamai sisters's final finishing move-'El Kanaph' which transford Raphael into a bow and arrow.Ratziel, despite being a bow, didn't have dedicated arrows. Conversely, the arrows Yutsuki's Angel needed offered a much freer selection.
Yutsuki nocked Einherjar onto Ratziel. Icy killing intent flashed in her amber pupils as she aid at Origami in the sky. Drawing the bowstring to the full moon, she whispered:
"Pierce—"
"Zayin(The Seventh Bullet)."
Just then, a voice suddenly interjected. A pitch black bullet burst from a gun barrel in the shadows, silently hitting Origami, who was about to unleash her ultimate move, trapping her in a state of stopped ti.
Has he finally arrived?
Seeing Origami frozen motionless in the sky, Yutsuki hurriedly looked towards the trajectory of the bullet. She saw Kurumi standing on a rock, holding her flintlock pistol and musket high.
This was what Yutsuki and Kurumi had agreed upon beforehand. Kurumi would first send a clone to wait secretly nearby. Then, after the outco of Shido's second attempt to change the past was decided, Kurumi would transfer her main body over. She would first use the Zayin to restrict Origami, and then use a code to relay the result from the past to Yutsuki.
One gunshot ant failure; two ant success.
Bang—! Bang—!
Two clear gunshots echoed in the silent space. The heavy stone that had been hanging high in Yutsuki's heart was finally set down.
"...Rember to thank Shido properly. Tobiichi Origami."
Breathing a sigh of relief, a determined light appeared in Yutsuki's eyes.
"I am the bone of my sword..."
(Who am I trying to look cool for!?)
Unable to stop herself from chanting that spell, Yutsuki couldn't help but secretly mock herself internally. Aiming Ratziel at Origami, she released the bowstring.
The pitch-black arrow tore through the night sky. With a whistling sound of tearing wind, it arrived in front of Origami.
Subsequently—
"Broken Phantasm!"
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
An unprecedentedly massive explosion echoed throughout the entire space.
