"And then, Shido made a promise to go on a date with that Spirit in Akihabara?"
Returning ho after dinner, Yutsuki and Kotori discussed the eting with Nia that afternoon.
December 28th, the location is Akihabara. The ti starts from eting in the morning until taking the bus back to Tengu City in the evening.
As long as Shido can conquer Nia during this ti, it counts as a success.
During this period, Nia promised not to use her Angel to peek at Shido and the others's strategy.
This was the agreent Nia and Shido made before leaving.
"Mhm, I was invited as well, for what it's worth. If you don't mind being a third wheel during Shido's conquest of Nia, I'll tag along."
Leaning against the hallway wall, Yutsuki shrugged and added.
"Not at all. I couldn't be happier to have your help, Yutsuki-nee. I'll leave idiot Shido to you."
Hearing Yutsuki's words, Kotori's furrowed brows relaxed a bit, and her tone carried a hint of relief.
"I'm just tagging along purely because I want to browse Akihabara... well, if any problems arise, I'll help out."
Although she didn't intend to be nosy, seeing Kotori's expectant eyes, Yutsuki nodded with a bitter smile.
"Thanks a lot, Yutsuki-nee. We will provide backup for you on that day as well. But... a Spirit imprisoned by DEM Industries?"
Hearing the details about Nia from Yutsuki and Shido, Kotori, sucking on a lollipop, couldn't help but fold her arms in thought.
With the precedent of Miku appearing as a famous idol, Nia working as a professional manga artist in society for a few years didn't surprise her much. It was the power of the other party's Angel that made her feel a bit concerned.
"Rasiel, huh... To be able to know all information and describe a blueprint of the future... what a terrifying Angel."
"In front of that Angel, there is no privacy whatsoever. Shido's dark history was ruthlessly dug up back there. You be careful too, Kotori, lest so embarrassing secret gets caught."
Yutsuki threatened seriously.
"I-I don't have any shaful dark history—Ahem. Yutsuki-nee, stop joking."
Kotori coughed dryly, her face flushing red. After glaring at Yutsuki with dissatisfaction, she sighed and muttered thoughtfully:
"An omniscient Angel... if that's the case, could it find out the true identity of Phantom? And Mana and Shido's mories... too."
"...Well, who knows. She said it herself, it's only 'probably'."
After a mont of silence, Yutsuki shrugged and lightly flicked Kotori's forehead.
"Now is not the ti to think about this. We haven't even conquered Nia yet. Even if she really can do it, it has to be after Shido conquers her, right?"
"Mhm, that's true."
She was getting a bit too ahead of herself. After having this pointed out by Yutsuki, Kotori scratched her cheek in sha.
"Right, Yutsuki-nee. Did Nia tell you guys what exactly happened to her at DEM?"
"No. She brushed it off with a very casual tone."
Yutsuki shook her head helplessly. Hearing this, Kotori's expression turned sowhat grave.
Either she didn't want to evoke painful mories and thus glossed over it, or her body's instinctual defense chanism had caused her to forget those mories. Whatever the case, Kotori absolutely wouldn't believe that DEM would treat a captured Spirit with courtesy.
"It's impossible they didn't know Nia's real-world identity. With Nia flaunting her identity so high-profile, DEM couldn't have failed to notice."
"One can only assu there's so kind of conspiracy involved."
"Yeah."
Kotori sighed. It seed that compared to conquering Nia, the pressing matter now was assigning personnel to ensure her safety.
Hahahahaha! Arrogant and ignorant beast, receive my judgnt!
"By the way..."
Turning to look at the living room and hearing the continuous commotion coming from inside, Kotori couldn't help but sweatdrop.
"What is Shido doing? Yutsuki-nee."
"Ahahaha! I am the avenger from the abyss—Fighter Lievan! All who block my path shall be devoured entirely, and even you are no exception, Child of the Typhoon!"
"Kuku! What a massive joke. I am the Maiden of the Wind, the Demon Lord of Purgatory. All creation and phenona in the world are under my control. Ignorant avenger, pay the price for your arrogance!"
"Hmph, in the end, we still have to speak with our strength. Take this, the strike that pierces the firmant—Roaring Flash Blast Wave!"
"Exactly what I wished for! Watch take your ultimate technique head-on! Take this aaaaaahhhhh!"
"Marvel. To actually be able to keep up with Kaguya's rhythm, Shido as Lievan is truly sothing else."
"Oh oh! Although I don't know what's happening, do your best, Shido! Don't lose!"
Click click! (Cara shutter sounds)
"Shido-san... is so cool..."
"My~ what a wonderful stage play, Shido-kun. That's right, just like that, you can't lose in montum~"
"Ah... what kind of penalty ga is this? By the way, there are tears in the corners of your eyes, are you okay, idiot Shido?"
"Ahahaha! U-Unnecessary worry! Co, bring it on! I... I am the avenger from the abyss—Fighter Lievan!"
"He actually brought out the black cloak and weapons sealed deep in the closet. Is Shido going to be okay?"
A bit worried that her brother might have awakened so weird masochistic fetish, Kotori asked uneasily.
"Pfft... th-this is also a kind of ntal training."
Glancing at Shido, who was currently standing on the living room table, looking up and laughing maniacally with tears in his eyes, Yutsuki couldn't help but snort. She turned her head and answered, trying hard to suppress her laughter.
Facts proved that when one's future happiness is at stake, those dark histories committed during puberty are nothing but trivial matters.

"Ah... finally free."
After faxing the manga manuscript to the editorial departnt's editor, thanks to Itsuka Shido, the work finished early. Nia stretched comfortably.
"Well then, well then~ Now it's ti to enjoy myself! Beer, beer~"
Because the heating in the room was ample, Nia was wearing only lace trimd underwear as she skipped into the kitchen and took out several cans of beer from the fridge.
"Oh, there are actually rice balls?"
Coincidentally noticing the rice balls wrapped in cling film on the stove, Nia finally rembered that Yutsuki had indeed said she left so food for her before leaving.
"Yare yare, Biri-chan is definitely going to beco an excellent wife in the future. I'm really jealous of the boy."
Nia couldn't help but sigh with emotion. She didn't know that if she said this in front of the girl herself, she would definitely be greeted fiercely with a paper fan right now.
Although she originally planned to use her stashed snacks to accompany the drinks tonight, since it was a rare opportunity, she'd start with this as an appetizer.
Coming to the living room, the tidy house gave her the illusion for a split second that she had walked into the wrong room. Nia froze for two seconds before carelessly sitting cross-legged on the sofa.
"Ah~ Slls so good."
Stuffing the rice balls into her stomach in large bites, and downing a gulp of beer, Nia let out a refreshing burp.
"A person lives just for this drink~"
After letting out a sigh like a middle-aged office worker, Nia tore open a bag of potato chips and turned on the TV with the remote.
"Ah~ So erotic. I didn't expect that after not seeing it for a few years, Japanese ani had evolved to this level. It's really amazing."
Saying this, Nia watched the late-night ani with great relish.
Twenty minutes passed in a flash. Watching the ending the start playing on the screen, Nia rolled over and cheered to the empty living room:
"Then—Manga! Gas! The night has only just begun!"
Now that work was done, without the demonic control of the editor, no one could restrict Nia's freedom.
To catch up on everything she missed over these past few years, Nia brought stacks of manga books to her bed and flipped through them enthusiastically. After just three or four hours, the bedroom Yutsuki had tidied up beca a complete ss again, just as Nia had predicted.
"Ah... This is true happiness."
Lying on the bed with her limbs spread out in a "大" shape, Nia narrowed her eyes and murmured blissfully.
"It's 1 AM."
Picking up the phone by her pillow to check the ti. Although it was still early for her, since she had an appointnt with the boy and Biri-chan the day after tomorrow, it would be best not to ss up her biological clock.
"Romance, huh... I probably can't do it..."
A complex expression appearing on her face, Nia sighed with a bitter smile.
Although she said she was giving Itsuka Shido a chance to conquer her, Nia knew that she couldn't possibly fall in love with Itsuka Shido. It wasn't that she was dissatisfied with him, but rather a problem on her own end.
Then why did Nia deliberately arrange to et the boy?
It's just that, just like Ryougi Yutsuki said, she wanted this happy life to not be taken away, for these peaceful days to continue, so she forced herself to make such a decision.
"Rasiel."
Following Nia's call, the massive book floated before her.
"These past five years... what exactly happened to ..."
Nia muttered, bewildered and helpless.
When she regained consciousness, Nia had already crashed into the suburban forest along with the transport plane. Before that, from the ti she was captured by DEM until now, a span of five years, Nia's mory was almost completely blank.
Although she didn't know how to restore her mories, as long as Nia willed it, she could absolutely use her Angel to investigate her own past.
"..."
Under this silent roof, for so reason, the sound of her fiercely beating heart was exceptionally clear. Her hand, reaching out halfway, stopped in mid-air. Cold sweat began to seep from Nia's forehead.
"Ah... ah..."
Suddenly sitting up from the bed, Nia's face had turned ghastly pale at so point. She opened her mouth wide, panting rapidly.
Honestly, Nia knew very well that she had rather weak self-control. Once she found an ani she liked, she couldn't resist the urge to know what happened next and would pull all-nighters catching up on manga and novels.
Ever since she got Rasiel, this bad habit of being unable to resist her curiosity to know spoilers had beco more and more severe.
But even so, she hadn't used her Angel to investigate her own past. She faintly sensed that this idea of hers was just like trying to open Pandora's Box.
Looking hesitantly at Rasiel floating in the air, Nia ultimately did nothing and withdrew it back into her body.
"Well, well—Let's not think about the past. It's definitely not anything pleasant anyway. Nia, you are a woman who lives in the present and looks toward the future!"
Brushing aside the sweat-drenched hair on her cheeks and tossing those extraneous thoughts to the back of her mind, Nia consoled herself. She turned on the fluorescent light, picked up a manga, and continued reading.
