"—Ahhhhhhhhhh!"
"—Ahhhhhhhhhh!"
With screams filled with panic, Miku and Shido, after a sudden dive from mid-air, crashed through the wall and into the inside of the building, landing on the ground looking totally beat up.
"I an, what was up with that crazy woman just now? Wearing a ch that looks super dangerous, and attacking us without even saying a word!"
While dusting off her clothes, Miku's cute face was full of unhappiness.
"Yeah, if Mana hadn't sent us over, we probably would have been done for."
Shido also spoke with a look of lingering fear.
They had just broken through the circle of chanical troops and DEM wizards using Kurumi's bullets. Before they could even catch their breath, they were almost hit by a super strong cannon blast. If Mana hadn't reacted in ti and put up her Realizer field to take the hit, he and Miku wouldn't just have failed their goal; they would have been hurt really badly.
"Geez, why wouldn't she listen to at all? That red haired woman... makes no sense!"
"Well... Kotori said her brain seems to have gone through so extre magic processing, so she doesn't really have the basic sense to judge things anymore. Don't worry about it."
Shido gave a dry smile to comfort the very annoyed-looking Miku.
Back then, facing that woman nad Jessica, Miku tried to use her voice to control her. But all she got back was a "So noisy!" and a homing missile. At that ti, she looked a little crazy, just keeping on repeating "Mana! Mana!". At the sa ti, she kept using "Scarlet Licorice"—the sa model as the "White Licorice" Shido saw on Origami before—and attacked Mana like crazy.
Rather than calling her an enemy, it was more like she just purely hated Mana.
And facing this, Mana also had a very complicated look on her face.
(Sorry, Nii-sama, looks like I can't go with you to save Tohka. This person's target is , you guys go on ahead. And, how should I put it... she and I used to be coworkers after all, so I have to be the one to end this for her.)
Then, he and Miku were directly thrown inside by Mana using her Realizer field.
"Phew, that's true. Asking a crazy person to understand the beauty of my singing is definitely asking too much."
Miku's face looked a little better, but after noticing who she was talking to, her face quickly went dark, and she shouted rejectingly.
"Shut up, who said you could talk to ? Please don't pollute the air with the breath coming out of your mouth, okay? I'm almost going to throw up. Please use a hot iron to seal your mouth and nose together right now, and never speak again."
"Uh, I just felt like you seed a bit uneasy..."
"Shut up, shut up, shut up! Who needs your comfort!"
"..."
Seeing that Miku wouldn't listen to reason or force, Shido gave up and sighed, then shouted into his earpiece.
"Hey, hey! Kotori, can you hear ?"
"...Shi...you... right now...dan..."
The voice from the other side of the earpiece was blurry and unclear because of too much static. It looked like what Yutsuki said was true; this building was covered by very strong jamming radio waves.
Mana should be fine with Kotori protecting her, and Kurumi and Yutsuki's plan to draw them away seed to be working well too. Most of the forces had already been drawn outside, and they hadn't seen any guards yet.
"Looks like we can only keep moving forward. Let's go, Miku!"
"Hey! Why do I have to listen to you and act on your orders!"
Miku yelled unhappily. But Shido ignored her and walked straight ahead. Miku gritted her teeth, but still quickly followed him.
Fourth floor, fifth floor, sixth floor. Knowing that the elevator might be stopped halfway by soone else, Shido could only climb up the ergency stairs step by step. Without realizing it, Shido felt tired, opening his mouth and panting hard.
"Geez... getting tired just from this little walk, humans really are useless!"
Miku, who had a Spirit's body, clearly had an easier ti than Shido. She spoke with a mocking look.
"..."
Shido looked at Miku, seemingly wanting to say sothing. Then, like he noticed sothing, he frowned, grabbed the struggling Miku, and hid by the wall without saying a word.
"Hey! What are you doing? Let go!"
"Shh! Soone's coming."
Down the hallway, there were two people, a man and a woman. And they weren't normal office workers or researchers; both of them were wearing wired suits he hadn't seen before.
Because they were inside the building, the two only held light handguns and small laser swords—but without a doubt, they were wizards.
Even though he wanted to avoid a fight if possible, they were guarding the only path to the top floor.
There were only two people on the other side... it should be fine.
After taking a few deep breaths, "Haa~ Phew!", Shido closed his eyes and said quietly in his heart.
Please... to save your master, lend your power.
Praying silently in his heart, like a rock thrown into water, a wave rippled in Shido's mind. Along with the shout in his heart, his wish started to turn from nothing into sothing real...
Before the two unnad wizards could go on guard, Shido quickly rushed in front of them. Then, the next second, their sight was taken over by a pure white blade of light.
The blade of light easily cut through the wizards' Realizer fields, and with a huge hit, sent them crashing into the wall, knocking them out.
"S... success..."
He successfully called out the Angel, but honestly, for a normal high school boy like Shido, facing wizards with lots of fighting experience, he wouldn't have much chance of winning without a surprise attack.
Shido held Sandalphon tightly with sowhat shaky fingers, and said, still feeling a bit scared.
The huge blade, the clear edge giving off colorful glowing light, was exactly Tohka's Angel—Sandalphon.
Actually, even if you gave Shido a gun and told him "use this to take out the enemy," Shido would probably just use it as a club to hit things. If he ssed up, he might even accidentally shoot and hurt himself.
But, only this sword could be swung freely by Shido just by wishing for it.
Also...
Suddenly, a heart-tearing pain ca from Shido's stomach.
A magic bullet tore through without rcy, carving a fist-sized hole in Shido's stomach.
"Don't move!"
"Hey! The target is a student! Is it okay to just shoot without permission?"
"A student? Wake up! You saw those two knocked out in the corner too. If high schoolers nowadays are this strong, I would quit being a wizard and go back to high school."
Oh no... there are two more.
Holding his stomach and kneeling on the ground, Shido thought to himself that this was bad. He didn't expect that while he was taking out the wizards and planning to leave, there would be two more wizards patrolling in the hallway behind them.
Seeming to feel that Shido was dangerous, the two didn't even think about holding him down. They raised their handguns and fired magic bullets at Shido.
—Ahhhhhh!
At the sa ti, sound with physical mass brushed past the top of Shido's head. The bullets were bounced off by an unseen wall of sound and crashed back toward the wizards themselves. The wizards let out ssy sounds and then stopped moving.
"Thanks... you were a big help, Miku."
Gritting his teeth, Shido spoke with cold sweat.
"Hmph, don't misunderstand. The breath you breathe out is gross enough on its own. If you left the sll of a dead body on top of that, it would be an insult to my beautiful world."
Miku turned her head away and answered with her usual venomous tone. But just this once, Shido felt that Miku's sharp tongue like this was actually pretty cute.
"Haha..."
After laughing twice, Shido stood up, gripped the sword in his hand tightly, and kept moving forward with sowhat unsteady steps.
"Hey, you took such a bad hit, are you still trying to... Nonsense, it's healed! Why?"
Looking at Shido's stomach, which had no marks on it at all except for a hole in his clothes, Miku cried out in surprise.
Just a few seconds ago, there was a wound there that would be deadly even for a Spirit.
"Well... special body, and... I am not alone!"
Shido looked at the dark blue arm guard he was wearing on his right hand, which was flashing with a weak light, and a smile appeared on his face.
(Host wound repair complete! Spirit power managent ended... Entering standby mode.)
This arm guard appeared at the exact sa ti Sandalphon was called out. If Sandalphon was answering his wish, then this was helping Shido make his wish co true in the way he wanted most.
It kept the Spirit power released by Sandalphon just enough to beat the enemies without putting their lives in danger. When he was hurt, it guided Kotori's healing flas to the wound to heal it right away, without wasting anything at all.
The normal healing ti got way shorter, and even the Spirit power used was much less than before. Shido didn't even feel the heat of the flas before the wound was healed.
Even though it still hurt like crazy when he got hit. -_-||
[Well, it's sothing like a lucky charm.]
Even though it looked very different from its original form, Shido knew this was Yutsuki's Angel—Ratziel
Original author:PS: Well, actually that is just the part of Ratziel that locks onto the arm. Just compare it to the pincer cannon in the picture of Ratziel and you'll know.
