Beihan looked slightly shocked at the bloody scene in front of him. In fact, such a scene wasn't often encountered in Gotham. What's shocking was that the teenager nad Dick was practically scattered evenly across the forest floor - he was torn apart into pieces.

Ignoring the soft skin and internal organs, human bones are pretty tough to handle. Without professional tools, it's hard to shatter bones into pieces like this. Did this killer devil also carry a wood chipper with him?

Beihan slowly squinted his eyes, contemplating carefully, feeling that sothing was off.

The corpse was highly mutilated, hence it wasn't possible to determine the exact ti of death. But judging by the condition of the coagulated blood, it shouldn't exceed two hours since the remains of the body were scattered here.

But here's the problem, when a person is killed, he dies. He would definitely scream before death. Even if the suspect killed Dick first and then shattered him into pieces like this, when the suspect first attacked, Dick would definitely have tried to resist or escape. Even if he couldn't escape, he would certainly have called for help because he knew the camp was near.

But Beihan didn't hear any screams, which ans that this deceased young man didn't die after Beihan returned to the camp. His ti of death might have coincided with when Beihan left the camp to investigate the creek.

But here lies another problem. During the period of Dick's victimization, the camp was not completely deserted. Let alone the group of n and won who ran to the other side of the camp for no apparent reason, didn't Doctor Schiller hear the cries for help?

Beihan turned his gaze towards Schiller, who seed to understand his concern. He slowly shook his head and said: "No, I didn't hear any noise, not even the sounds of a fight."

Beihan imdiately furrowed his eyebrows, this could imply one of two scenarios. First, the killer devil was so strong that he killed in one strike, decapitating his opponent cancelling out any chance of making a sound. Second, the killer devil might have used a sedative or sothing similar to kidnap and brutally murder Dick sowhere else.

"The second possibility is higher," Batman suddenly broke the silence.

Beihan was taken aback. Had their thoughts coincided? It should be another case of his speculation aligning with his own, after all, they were both Batman.

Surprisingly, both the female agent nad Natasha and Doctor Schiller seed to understand Batman's implication. Natasha took the initiative to suggest.

"You returned to the camp earlier which ans the perp didn't have much ti to kill and abandon the body. So, if he chose to kidnap, his base shouldn't be far from here otherwise he wouldn't have had enough ti to make the round trip."

"Why would he throw the body back here, and make it so..." Schiller put his hand beneath his nose, seemingly disgusted by the stench of blood. He shook his head and said, "He could have easily let the body drift down the stream."

"Don't forget, Doctor, this is not an ordinary murder that's happening within the civil society," Batman stepped forward, picking up a piece of uniform fragnt. With his voice becoming more grave, he held onto the fragnt tightly and said, "What the killer aims to do is not to destroy the corpse and evade legal punishnt, but to use every ans to make us feel anger and fear. He is here to torture us."

"I think we should venture forth" Natasha looked towards the distance and said, "While it's still bright outside, we might find the killer devil's ho in this direction. I guess it might be a prominent hunter's hut."

Both Batmans nodded in agreent. But at this point, the Batman from the Pri Universe said, "We also need soone to guard our camp, protect our supplies and the fire. So who will stay?"

After pondering a bit, Schiller said, "It's not safe for one person to stay. Under the condition of diminished physical strength, we may not have the ability to face the killer devil alone. It's best to have two people cooperate."

Beihan started thinking. It was difficult to determine whether staying in the camp or exploring was more dangerous. The killer devil could be in the camp or he could have used Dick's body as bait, luring them over to ambush the camp and snatch their fire source, plunging them into disadvantage in the night.

"Let's do it this way. You three have better investigative abilities, and I can go back to prepare food. So just choose one more person to stay." Schiller volunteered.

"Then I'll stay." Natasha sighed lightly, saying, "I'm a special agent, not a detective. You guys are more experienced in finding clues."

"Although it's a bit superstitious, I believe in my intuition." Natasha turned her head again to look in the front, saying, "The killer devil may not be at his base right now. This is a great opportunity to gather clues and find his weaknesses. It's important to pick two efficient people to go, so as not to waste this precious opportunity."

What she said was reasonable. If they could potentially invade the ho of the killer devil right now, there was no better combination than the two Batmans. As, along with finding clues, they might also be able to cause so disruption. It required both detective skills and physical strength, and no one could beat the combination of two Batmans.

The two Batmans exchanged glances, and in the end, both nodded. They turned and headed towards the depth of the forest.

After they left, Schiller and Natasha exchanged a smile and turned back towards the camp.

Both Batmans walked one after the other, with one watching the left and other the right in perfect sync. They moved forward but didn't notice any footprints until they noticed the shadow of a building in a gap in the dense forest.

They imdiately crouched down, hiding behind a sturdy bush, observing the situation in the cabin.

The cabin didn't look big, it was just a single-story typical woodland cabin, but it had quite a spacious yard. From this angle, they couldn't see what was in the yard, but they had a clear view of one of the cabin windows.

The window gave them a clear sight of the interior, but so corners were out of sight. However, Beihan kept a keen eye on the cabin and whispered, "He's not there, I think we can go in."

Having said that, he moved gracefully and quickly walked forward. Batman followed closely behind. The two n moved in front of and behind each other until they reached the base of the back wall of the cabin.

Beihan pulled off his mask and only looked inside the house after removing the striking bat ears, but the house was indeed empty, with no signs of human activity.

They then walked around to the front yard and found a small logging camp. It was not surprising. In such a jungle, the most important thing was to keep warm.

People who have used fireplaces know how firewood is not durable. Possibly, a spacious warehouse full of firewood might just be enough for one winter. Therefore, firewood must be chopped nearly every day in autumn, and then the pieces must be stored.

Beihan lowered his hands and looked around, as if looking for sothing. Then he suddenly stopped, walked to the other side of the cabin, lifted a black waterproof cloth, and sure enough, there was a wood chipper sared with blood foam.

Seeing the bone fragnts inside, Beihan sighed, fully removed the waterproof cloth, and then began to look around for possible clues.

He watched Batman walk into the house, but Batman quickly turned around and returned, standing at the door and saying to Beihan, "You should co and see this."

Beihan put down the waterproof cloth in his hand and entered the house together with Batman. It was indeed a very typical hunter's cabin. Right in front of the entrance was a deer head hanging over a fireplace, in front of which was a fur rug and two sofas.

The kitchen and dining room were combined into one, and the island platform was on the right hand side. On the left side was the door to the bedroom. There, was a bed, the pillows and duvet covers were also made of animal skins, and judging from a corner of the bed that is visible beneath the quilt, this should be a handmade wooden bed.

After looking at the fireplace, Beihan said, "These are new pieces of wood. The other party should have just left."

Walking out of the side door of the kitchen led to the tool room and warehouse. The wood chipper was placed outside the warehouse window, while the interior of the warehouse was filled with hunting tools.

It included tripwires, binding ropes, push cars, all kinds of animal traps, a lot of shotgun bullets, but unfortunately, there were no firearms. However, there were two fairly good axes.

Beihan picked up one of them and weighed it in his hand, then slightly furrowed his eyebrows. He looked back at the bed within the bedroom through a couple of doors, contemplatively.

Batman stopped in front of a mounting board. A bait-triggered animal trap was hanging on it, the type of trap often seen in cartoons that snaps shut with a slice of cheese in the middle.

Beihan also walked over and noticed that there should have been four traps on the mounting board since there were four nails. But now only three were left. From the build-up of dust, it appears that the last trap had only just been removed.

Then they discovered that a bundle of wire as well as so springs and parts were also missing from the tripwire box.

"He probably made a pressure-trap," Beihan speculated. "Sothing is triggered by a person tripping on a wire, like long tal nails or sharp wooden stakes he himself sharpened."

"A typical horror movie scenario," Batman summarized.

Suddenly, like realizing sothing, Beihan said, "Wait, isn't our splitting up also a typical horror movie scenario? Aren't we giving the murderer a chance?"

Just as his words fell, shouting and killing sounds ca faintly from a distance. The two Batn imdiately rushed out of the door and hurried back without stopping.

A gunshot rang out, instantly raising the tension. The two Batn can no longer conserve their energy and rushed back to the camp at their fastest speed.

A faint bloody sll ca with the wind, indicating that no one was seriously injured. However, they saw Shiller using the cloth torn from the bat cloak to bandage Natasha.

Natasha had an obvious gunshot wound on her upper arm. Because of the burn, she was not bleeding further. Shiller helped her wipe the edge of the wound and removed the burnt skin tissues.

"What happened? Did you see him?" Beihan asked anxiously.

Shiller shook his head and said, "Natasha hit a wild chicken with a stone; I was planning to cook it as soup. Using bottled purified water was a waste, so she planned to get so water from the nearby stream."

"Then I saw his figure behind so bushes," Natasha sighed, winced in pain and continued, "He held a gun in his hand, carried a long wooden stick on his back, and sothing that looked like an animal trap on his waist."

"He spotted first. I imdiately hid behind a tree, but I didn't expect that he would fire the gun. Fortunately, his shooting wasn't very accurate, and the bullet just grazed my arm."

"Did you get a clear look at him?"

"I was at a disadvantage with the light, so I didn't get a good look, but this guy is fairly tall and probably very strong. He is very alert as well."
