This issue raised Shiller's alertness. Since Jero had asked it, it might indicate that he could be communicating with soone in the sa hotel Shiller was in, but such communication might not be in real ti.
The concept of a ti difference beca clearer before. If the ti points of the two hotels were consecutive, then the one from the earlier ti could leave a ssage for the latter, and the two would essentially be able to communicate, especially if both people had checked into the sa room. Whatever was left behind by the person from an earlier tiline could imdiately be seen by the person from a later tiline.
But if that were the case, how could there be a ti difference? The cause of the forr ti should affect the latter imdiately, changing the past should affect the present imdiately.
Shiller then thought that in such a scenario, only the person from the earlier ti point could leave ssages for the person at the later ti, the future couldn't send ssages to the past. This was probably what caused the poor communication, only the past could direct the future.
Shiller didn't answer imdiately but after dragging the conversation for a while, said, "It's possible, but there is limited ti and it will co at a cost."
Shiller saw through Peter's eyes the look of realization on Jero's face. Shiller didn't ask any new questions, while Jero sent a ssage, "It seems this kid is just an ordinary person, so you must be soone formidable. I believe we can cooperate to uncover the true nature of this event."
Shiller snorted coldly, then sent a ssage back, "You said no one could leave this room alive, then you should treat as if I'm a dead man rather than trying to cooperate with . Tell , what do you know about this room?"
Jero seed unwilling to easily spill the beans, but Shiller wasn't in a hurry. Feeling Shiller's unfazed composure, Jero clearly began to wonder what Shiller was relying on. He hinted indirectly, "Sothing dangerous will happen in that room on the second night. I don't think you'll make it, but if you help , I might..."
Peter suddenly packed up the communicator, saying, "He hung up."
A murderous intent flashed across Jero's face, which Peter saw very clearly—a madness typically seen in those with antisocial personality disorder.
"I'd advise you not to lay a hand on ." Peter typed a ssage for him to read and said, "I know you might have a gun, but I wouldn't co here unprepared."
Jero didn't seem to fear the words Peter had said. After making an icy expression, he focused on a small crack in the cabinet.
The gap was very small. Jero pushed Peter away slightly, peering closely, seemingly very concerned about what the short individual staying in the room was doing inside.
Peter then rembered he had ransacked the room. This ss could be ignored by Jero, but the short individual would certainly care about it. What if he called the hotel staff? Peter would definitely be discovered.
Jero also looked sowhat grave, but he seed to be waiting for sothing. The short man didn't call the room service; instead, he started searching the room himself. There were many hiding places in the bedroom, so he almost imdiately rushed into the bedroom.
Peter's heart raced; he didn't understand why he was so afraid of this seemingly ordinary man. He still had the gear from the Spider Legion, and if anything went wrong, he could imdiately return to the space where Black Sun was. But Peter just felt waves of cold, and his mind wasn't very sharp.
Peter didn't know what Jero had seen, but he could see that Jero's face had turned pale; his expression was sowhat dazed. Soon, Jero looked away and pulled out a syringe, injecting it into his arm.
The syringe contained sothing black and red, looking sowhat like blood. Peter, with dical knowledge, knew that blood couldn't be reintroduced into the body this way; it was possibly so kind of blood-like agent.
Jero's face remained pale, but he looked considerably better. Then he lifted his eyes to Peter. He said nothing, just held up his phone, which was off, using it like a mirror for Peter.
Peter saw his own face, terribly pale in the screen, his pupils showing signs of dilating. Why had he changed like this, doing nothing at all?
Jero said nothing, but he seed to be ready for sothing. As his footsteps stopped in front of the closet, he crouched slightly, like an arrow pulled back on a bow.
But suddenly the footsteps moved away, rushing towards the door. Jero seed to rember sothing. As the footsteps hadn't completely faded, he burst out from the closet and chased after the man.
Left in the closet, Peter was sowhat stunned. He walked out and saw so wet marks on the ground; he thought they might be from the two who had gone to the bathroom earlier and hadn't given it much thought. He stepped over the wet marks and walked away.
He felt a strong need to lie down in the bedroom to rest. Peter didn't even pay attention to the ssage from Shiller, and once he entered the room, he fell asleep imdiately.
Realizing that Peter wasn't responding, Shiller knew sothing must have happened on his end. Peter's Sanity Points were alarmingly low; no matter what he encountered, he couldn't handle it alone.
