On the other end, Loki seed to be at work, with the sound of papers rustling in the background. He spoke into the phone, "Just got out, our mission barely completed. What's up?"
"How's Malekith?"
"Who?" Loki clearly didn't catch on.
"Malekith, the leader of the Dark Elves!"
There was a long silence on the other end before he said, "Isn't he with the human race? Did you forget how you wiped out the Dark Elves last ti? To be precise, you were the one who wiped them out?"
So mories flashed through his mind. Shiller looked at Khonsu, who stared back at him silently.
Last ti, it was Moonlight Shiller whom Malekith encountered.
The situation at that ti could basically be sumd up as: drums blaring, firecrackers crackling, red flags waving, throngs of people—all trying to stop Moonlight Shiller from killing Malekith.
The final conclusion seed to be Shiller unleashing a big move to clear the Dark Elves. Malekith, being closer to the Ancient One, managed to escape because of the Ancient One's shield. But as for where he went afterward, Shiller wasn't very clear.
"The Ancient One wouldn't possibly take Malekith out of the Nine Realms," Loki said, "Any leader from any race within the Nine Realms needing to leave must get Odin's approval. No news from Odin ans he hasn't left."
"Do you think the Ancient One might kill him?"
"Probably not," Loki said, "Although the Ancient One is never lenient with those invading Earth, he would be more inclined to let them atone for their actions if keeping them alive could bring greater benefits."
From Loki, Shiller learned two things. Firstly, Malekith is alive and still within the Nine Realms. Secondly, that the person handling Malekith is the Ancient One, who has presumably used so ans to limit this Dark Elf, allowing him to use the Dark Elves' cloaking technology to contribute more to Earth.
Regarding the Dark Elves as a race, although they were weakened from that battle, they weren't completely annihilated. After all, their holand is in Svartalfheim, a barren edge area. Humans certainly couldn't pursue them there to destroy them.
After so ti recuperating, they should have recovered. And without Malekith, they would surely elect another leader, with the sa goal—escaping the barren and remote Svartalfheim and finding a fertile land in the Nine Realms as their ho.
The Nine Realms are vast, with many civilizations in every dinsion. Even Asgard, ruled by the Aesir, isn't solely ho to the Aesir. The Aesir mainly live near the Fairy Palace, and other vast areas are ho to other races, whose civilizations aren't advanced enough to be noticed by the God Clan.
The politics, economy, and culture of the Nine Realms bear a striking resemblance to those of Earth. One might say the evolutionary paths of carbon-based intelligent creatures are quite similar. Each civilization's niche and role in the cosmos can find corresponding counterparts in Earth's countries and groups.
The Dark Elf civilization is sowhat like Japan on Earth. Their holand dinsion of Svartalfheim is of low quality and quite desolate. In both comics and movies, this dinsion is a place of darkness, neither beautiful nor bountiful.
Yet, their civilization is very close to Asgard, right at the center of Asgard's civilizational sphere, even closer than humans' relationship with Asgard. Several generations of Aesir divine kings have conquered Svartalfheim, bringing new technology and culture there, making the Dark Elves followers of the Aesir.
The Dark Elves' feelings towards the Aesir are complicated. Most of their technology and culture co from the Aesir, yet due to various reasons, there's no possibility they could develop into a civilization as great as the Aesir. This longing is engraved in their bones and has never disappeared.
The Dark Elves believe their inability to develop into a high-level civilization is mainly due to the constraints of their barren holand. Svartalfheim is just too impoverished, and any race evolving there has too many flaws without sufficient resources to embark on an interstellar era.
To solve this problem, the Dark Elves racked their brains. Every leader of the Dark Elves has tried to break geographical constraints, finding various opportunities to invade other more prosperous dinsions, aiming to find a new ho for their civilization.
In the Nine Realms, there aren't many civilizations easy to bully. Whether it's the most beautiful and bounteous Vanaheim, Alfheim, ho of the ancient race of Light Elves, or Nidavellir, ruled by Dwarves, even Odin must use gentle tactics to govern. The Dark Elves have no chance to ddle.
But Jotunheim, ho of the Frost Giants, Muspelheim the source of the flas, and the Netherworld where Hela resides, all have too harsh natural conditions, unsuitable for Dark Elf survival.
Therefore, Midgard, where Earth is located, with relatively mild natural conditions and without a strong race, beca the best target for the Dark Elves.
Just like Japan, the survival panic caused by limited resources has made outward expansion the main the of their race's developnt. No matter who cos to power, no matter how well they disguise it, geographical conditions dictate that if given a chance, they will try all ans to invade outwards.
Shiller had no doubt that even if Malekith were still restricted, without the ability to cause trouble, the Dark Elves would definitely elect a new leader to lead them in external warfare like a pack of hungry wolves, constantly attempting to seize the most enticing piece of at.
At this thought, Shiller understood that the key problem wasn't Malekith, but the Dark Elves as a race. As long as they exist, their harassnt of Earth wouldn't cease.
The Dark Elves are also intelligent lifeforms, and having developed this far, they've learned all of humanity's tactics as well. Roxon Corporation is their comprador bought within humanity.
Through Roxon Corporation, they can not only steal resources within the Solar System but also exert influence in various areas, continuously distracting the human race's attention, even reversing public opinion to whitewash their previous invasions or even portray themselves as victims.
Because the managers within Roxon Corporation are also human, dealing with Roxon ans acting against one's compatriots, which could ultimately lead to a civil war. In any case, it benefits the Dark Elves.
The worst of it may not even be the Dark Elves, but rather Roxon Corporation, who chose to cling to them, betraying their own race.
The last incident hadn't given them enough of a lesson, Shiller thought, that goes for both the Dark Elves and Roxon Corporation.
However, he also knew that humanity must be prepared for a long-term struggle. The Dark Elves, having clung to Asgard for so many years, were far superior to the just beginning Earth in terms of technological level and resource reserves.
But ultimately, victory would surely belong to humanity.
Shiller slowly descended with his Magic Wand. The surface of Jupiter's moon was full of volcanoes, the natural environnt extrely harsh. But precisely because the surface environnt was so complex, it gave Shiller the opportunity to conceal himself.
He stood on the volcanic crater of another smaller volcano, looking in the direction of the temple. There were patrols at the temple gate, but it was obviously not the Dark Elves, they were human.
Seeing the horns on these humans' heads, Shiller knew they had likely been turned into monsters by Roxon. Although he didn't know how much sanity they had left, they certainly weren't open to reason.
Shiller sighed lightly and said to Khonsu, "Get ready to go."
As soon as he finished speaking, Shiller transford into a beam of moonlight, first landing in the temple's shadowed area. With a slight forward point of his Magic Wand, a beam of white light coiled around a horned monster's waist. Shiller yanked back hard, and the monster was dragged over.
Having experience dealing with such monsters, Shiller didn't need to test it out. He directly grabbed the horned monster's neck and smashed it hard against the wall, shattering both horns.
Deprived of its power source, the monster gradually changed back into human form. Shiller saw that it was a young girl, probably just coming of age. Without Magic Power, she couldn't survive in this environnt.
Shiller waved his hand, encasing her body with silver energy, stabilizing her condition before sending her into Khonsu's Divine Country. After the mission, he would carefully inquire.
With one less monster, there was a gap in the patrol. Shiller didn't go through the front door but leaped up to the second floor's balcony. Peering through the glass, there wasn't a sliver of light inside the temple, Shiller guessed the Dark Elves were inside.
Dark Elves aren't easy to deal with. The Elves in the Nine Realms all possess magic, and the Dark Elves also have technological equipnt. Handling them silently is difficult.
Shiller decided to find a way around them. He transford into a beam of moonlight and passed through the glass, activating his Magic Vision in the dark, indeed spotting a Dark Elf erging from the door at the end of the corridor.
Shiller concealed his figure, watching as he descended the stairs. Shiller silently followed behind.
Greed wouldn't know any stealth tracking skills; that's an agent's skill. Although it's still not 100% flawless, with Magic concealing him, Shiller smoothly followed this Dark Elf downstairs.
The other party spoke in his race's language into an earpiece. Shiller couldn't understand the Dark Elf language, but he could record the pronunciations and compare them, identifying the most frequently recurring word to deduce its aning from the context.
Moreover, most races in the Nine Realms use alphabet languages, bound to have many foreign words. The Dark Elves, heavily influenced by Asgard, are the sa, with many words in their language borrowed from Ancient Norwegian. Having dealt with Thor and Loki brothers so much, Shiller didn't master the language, but he could understand roughly.
Sure enough, the words the Dark Elf spoke repeatedly ntioned a word. Shiller thought the pronunciation sounded like the Asgardian word for "Teleportation Portal."
This confird Stark's previous speculation. Roxon Corporation must be in collusion with the Dark Elves, extracting resources from Jupiter and then transporting them out of the Solar System through a Teleportation Portal.
Shiller recorded the Dark Elf's conversation with a recording device, then retraced his steps. Returning to the second floor of the temple, he found a safe corner in the corridor and called Loki.
"Loki, I recall you should be proficient in all races' languages within the Nine Realms, right? Help listen to what this passage says."
Loki was sowhat puzzled, but listening to Shiller's recording, his expression gradually grew grave. He said, "The Dark Elves are near Earth again? They want to make a move on your Jupiter?"
"Make a move on Jupiter? What do you an?"
"I don't know, but this recording ntions that a Teleportation Portal is about to open, and the General is about to make a move on Jupiter."
