As blood spurted, a fit of maniacal laughter rang out. Joker Jack, wielding a dagger, appeared behind Constantine, a madness filled gaze in his eyes as he stared at Constantine, saying:
"I found you."
Struck with pain, Constantine clasped his wounded back and yelled, "Joker? No! What grudge do I bear with you? Get away!!"
The magical light in Constantine's right hand suddenly brightened, but in a 'swish', the dagger slashed across his right arm. Following a 'thud', Constantine was directly kicked away, the glow of his magic gradually dimming.
Jack, brandishing the dagger, walked over. He knelt on one knee, pressing Constantine's chest with his knee, raised the dagger aid at Constantine's forehead, then said, "Do you know? I have recently been following you. But, not because I like you. It's because Batman likes you."
He continued with an absolutely insane tone, "He is so fond of you! Even going on consecutive dates with you for days!! He doesn't even spare a glance for poor Joker!!!"
"I know... I know.... I know you took up residence in this ntal hospital," Joker sniffed, suddenly adopting a sowhat tear-choked voice.
"But poor Mister Joker, unable to afford the dical expenses, was expelled by the cruel doctors, stranded out on the street..."
"I had no choice but to stir up so trouble, letting Batman send here, otherwise... I would have had to bear with you, a disgusting fly, continuously capturing Batman's attention..."
"Die, Constantine!" Joker raised his dagger with a wicked grin, but just then, the door was 'bang' kicked open, and Batman appeared at the door, saying, "Stop! Joker!"
Seizing the opportunity as Joker turned his head, Constantine snapped his fingers. His figure vanished from the spot, and Joker yelled: "No! No! Constantine! You can't escape!!"
Saying so, he wildly brandished his dagger and charged out, with Batman following behind him.
Constantine's teleportation couldn't transport him far. His figure appeared at the end of the corridor, failing to escape Joker's sighting. Seeing Joker chasing him, Constantine quickly ran upstairs.
anwhile, the mobsters had also found Hugo and Jonathan, who were escaping. They shouted, "Don't run, halt!"
Hugo and Jonathan desperately fled downstairs. Fortunately, the stairwell's field of view was quite narrow, and the mobsters lacked a clear aim, hence they could only chase after them.
Just like that, two groups of people, one scrambling upstairs, the other scrambling downstairs.
At the mont when Constantine and Hugo crossed paths, they both saw the people chasing after the other. The three, almost in agreent, halted their steps and after a mont of hesitation, rushed into the third floor's corridor.
At this mont, in the third floor's corridor, Alberto and Cobblepot, who had just arrived after receiving the newspapers boy's phone call, were discussing matters regarding the ntal hospital's reconstruction. Hearing movent in the corridor, the two ca out, only to see Constantine and others frantically charging in their direction.
Cobblepot furrowed his brows and said, "Stop, who are you?"
The fleeing three couldn't care less about him, they ran past the two.
But just then, a figure appeared at the end of the corridor by the windows. The light from a double-barreled shotgun flashed brightly, "bang", the intense gunshot stopped the three in their tracks. Alfred, holding a shotgun, stood in front of Constantine and said coldly, "Where do you think you're running off to?"
At the sa ti, a group of figures shrouded in green light appeared in the skies above Arkham ntal Hospital, Deputy Carol leading the group said, "Is this the 'most dangerous place in the universe' you were talking about?"
Hal wore a concerned expression and then said, "Yes, let's go in and take a look."
The other Green Lanterns looked around sowhat hesitantly, but nonetheless activated the ring's capability to teleport through obstacles. With a flash of green light, they descended directly onto the third floor corridor, where the most people were.
At this mont, Alfred, Alberto, Cobblepot, Constantine, Hugo, Jonathan, Joker, Batman, and a group of Gotham Gang mbers carrying heavy firepower, all looked up at the figures shining with green light in the dark corridor.
Suddenly, from within the crowd of mobsters, a man with a full-face beard shouted loudly:
"Ghosts!! Green shiny ghosts!!!"
The roar, loud as thunder, erupted from the windows of Gotham Psychiatric Hospital, echoing throughout Gotham's skies —
"It's them!!!!!!!"
