Oliver Quinn, a rich young aristocrat, who had been spoiled since childhood, was, for so reason, cast into the sea. He drifted to a deserted island, where he survived alone for three months amidst the harsh conditions.
Generally speaking, this kind of situation is unlikely to occur, the odds of floating in the ocean and encountering a deserted island are extrely low. In the absence of any survival knowledge and skills, to stay alive here is almost impossible.
However, Oliver, who later beca the Green Arrow, not only had a stronger will than ordinary people, he also was sowhat luckier.
The spot he was pushed into the water from wasn't far from this island and his regular fitness practices ensured he had plenty of stamina to float in the water and land successfully on the shallow beach of this island.
But conversely, he was also unfortunate; it was the season where tropical storms often occurred. Just after reaching the shore, he experienced a storm. It consud a lot of his energy, so that for a long ti afterward, he couldn't establish a suitable rhythm of survival.
Surviving on a deserted island isn't as simple as many think. In survival gas, players can see their survival values, discerning when they are hungry or thirsty through hunger and hydration bars.
However, in the real world, there are no such indicators. Oliver had just survived the storm, consuming a lot of energy, he mistakenly thought he was still energetic, so he planned to climb to the highest point of the island's cliff to see if there were any ships.
But, the terrain here was much more challenging than he had anticipated; he was halfway up and already starving.
At this point, the most lethal problem appeared. Although Oliver had no wilderness survival experience, he at least knew that one shouldn't eat wild fruits and mushrooms indiscriminately. Therefore, the option to fill his belly with plants was blocked.
So, the only option left was to hunt for food. There are quite a lot of prey in the rainforest; birds in the sky, fish in the water, and even turtles on the beach. The problem was, he couldn't catch any of them.
He couldn't catch birds or fish with his bare hands, he needed to make tools, but that necessitated finding raw materials, and to get raw materials, he had to expend energy to gather plants or search for stones.
As he had misjudged his energy levels, by the ti he realized he was hungry, he already had no strength left to do these things.
The majority of wilderness survival failures happen for this reason. The human race has little understanding of their own bodies, and many abnormal conditions can't be discovered right away. By the ti they are found, it's too late.
But, Oliver's luck was once again better than others, he found a small stream. In the pool where the stream fell, there were so small fish that didn't take much effort to catch.
These small fish didn't have much at but there were plenty in quantity. The storm had just ended, and the fish were surfacing in abundance. Oliver caught them easily, cleaned them, and didn't bother cooking; he just put them into his mouth.
"Honestly, they didn't taste as bad as I imagined. Maybe it was because, by that ti, I was so hungry, I found them rather tasty..." As Oliver roasts his al in the cave, he remarked.
"If you're going to eat them raw, fish are already quite good, especially, clean fish at, doesn't have any strange taste," Arthur nodded and replied.
"But, you need to be conscious of parasites. Are the fish you're talking about, freshwater fish? Parasites can be quite terrifying," Shiller cautioned.
Oliver shook his head and said, "I fear starvation more than parasites. For a long ti, these small fish ensured that I didn't starve to death and helped navigate through the early stages."
"And after that?" Arthur asked, curious as he had never heard of such a Robinson Crusoe-style adventure, so he was quite interested.
"After I regained my strength, I knew that the next storm wouldn't be long in coming. I needed to find shelter. I had planned to set up a camp myself, but I realized I had no idea how to..." A look of helplessness appeared on Oliver's face.
Expecting a rich young aristocrat to learn how to survive overnight is like a shot in the dark. In the beginning, Oliver could only use so dense palm leaves he had bound together and tied between two large trees to shelter himself from the sun.
But because he didn't know how to weave, his tying was just a hasty knot without order. The lifespan of such a shelter was short and used up a lot of leaves. He had to continuously move to ensure there were enough palm trees from which he could gather leaves.
The one advantage of living near the stream was that he didn't lack water, and it helped temporarily solve his food problem. The only fatal issue was the impending tropical storm.
"After living there for about a week, I realized that I had to leave, if I didn't, I might die there in the next storm."
"I needed to find a place sturdy enough to serve as a refuge, rather than fooling myself with leaves above my head."
"So then you found this cave?" Shiller asked,
