Upon hearing the sound of the plane crash, Arthur imdiately stood up and walked out to the platform outside the cave entrance, gazing into the distance. Due to the excessively damp air, the fire was quickly extinguished, leaving only a wisp of smoke rising from the nearby forest.
"Go, Arthur! Go... there may have been an air disaster, soone mightneed help!" Oliver tried to get up while clutching his chest, but fell back to the ground. He coughed hard twice, shook his head, and seed a bit dazed.
"You stay here, I'll go and see." Arthur also realized the severity of the situation. Judging from the shock of the explosion just now, the whole plane might have been blown up. If there were indeed passengers...
Arthur didn't dare to continue this thought. He swiftly jumped down from the protruding part of the rock wall, then pushed through the disarrayed vegetation and fallen trees on the ground, and ran towards the crash site.
From a distance, he saw the thick smoke, but by the ti he arrived, the smoke had quickly dispersed. He saw two figures standing in the distance. Arthur breathed a sigh of relief, if people were standing, it ant that their lives were not in imdiate danger.
But as he continued forward, Arthur was taken aback because the two people standing were Shiller and Hal.
"Professor, and Mr. Pilot, what are you doing here?" Arthur quickly ran over and asked.
"I..." Hal made a very reluctant expression. Shiller poked him with his umbrella, Hal sighed and had to admit, "I wanted to fly a plane to find you. Who knew that it would crash? This must be a problem with the quality of the plane, it has nothing to do with my flying skills."
Numb with shock, Arthur looked at the wreckage of the plane and said, "It seems that the autopilot system is not very reliable..."
"Yes, exactly, it's a problem with the autopilot system!" Hal's eyes suddenly lit up. He said, "I didn't even fly it, it just suddenly crashed. It has nothing to do with my flying skills..."
"Wait, what is that? Arthur suddenly noticed sothing strange.
He walked over and found that it was a piece of plane wreckage. What was strange, however, was that this piece of plane wreckage was extrely intact. After walking over, Arthur found that it was right where the plane's storage room should be.
"My God! That's great, we have supplies!" Arthur delightedly walked over, but when he stood next to the wreckage, he asked in confusion, "In what position did this plane fall? If it went nose down, then the storage compartnt must be damaged. If it went tail down, it wouldn't be preserved this perfectly..."
"Maybe it landed on its side?" Shiller suggested a possibility and Hal slapped himself on the forehead, "Isn't that a smooth landing?"
"Don't worry about all that. Let's take it as a gift from nature," Shiller also walked to the wreckage and said, "Oh, look, even the fridge is intact. The food inside should be well-preserved, right?"
As soon as he opened the fridge door and glanced inside, he slamd it shut. He walked over to Hal with a grim expression, lowered his voice, and said, "I told you to protect the fridge with green lantern energy, but you didn't have to protect it that much, did you?"
"What's wrong? Did it break?" Hal seed a bit nervous. He knew well that the refrigerator was full of food. If it broke, he'd have to eat fish for the next few days, in addition to the great waste.
At this mont, Arthur stepped up, opened the refrigerator door and before he could express his surprise, he noted with confusion, "Hmm??? ... The freezer layer is completely intact, I can understand that, and the vegetables are probably quite resilient too, but these eggs... none of them are broken, isn't it a bit..."
Sure enough, inside the open fridge door, the right compartnt of the middle shelf was filled with eggs. They had fallen from such a height, not one was broken, and they were all still neatly stacked in the compartnt, with their formation intact.
Hal said embarrassively, "Well, it's probably a gift from nature. Our luck is quite good, um, that's it..."
Although Arthur was still confused, he couldn't figure out what had happened. He decided to put it all out of his mind, saying, "Co on, let's move the fridge together. I'll look around to see if there's any material that can be used to repair the ship."
Upon hearing this, Shiller was stunned for a mont. He nudged Hal with his elbow and Hal knowingly walked over to Arthur and said, "Let's go, we'll move the fridge first and inventory the food."
Without thinking too much, Arthur and Hal picked up the heavy refrigerator. He hadn't expected that, while Hal didn't look as tall and strong as himself, he carried more than half of the weight and was still striding ahead.
Arthur praised, "The physical quality of a pilot is indeed extraordinary."
"Um... thank you for the complint, but not all pilots are like this, I'm one of the best amongst them..." Hal replied with a smile.
Watching their receding figures, Shiller quickly whispered into the gray mist, "Quick, determine which items here can be used for ship repairs, and destroy them quickly..."
Making sure no one was watching, Shiller crouched down and pressed his hand to the ground. The gray mist quickly spread out and all of the undestroyed plane wires were swallowed up in an instant. The gray mist said to Shiller, "Done. Unless he can perform a molecular-level breakdown and reconstitution, he'll definitely find no usable materials."
Shiller finally breathed a sigh of relief. Indeed, when Arthur returned to look for usable materials, he was greatly disappointed and said, "Perhaps this plane is too advanced, I was unable to find any wiring inside. My God, how does it operate?"
At this mont, Shiller walked over and patted him on the shoulder, "Don't be too greedy, nature's gifts are always limited, we've already been lucky enough."
Arthur nodded, feeling that what Shiller said made sense. He was easy-going and wasn't too bothered about questions with no apparent answers.
So, he returned to their imdiate problem, "There's so much supplies in this fridge, we could transport them in batches, but we should move everything at once if possible, otherwise they might be eaten by seagulls or lizards."
Arthur looked around at their environnt, saying, "We can use the trunks of palm trees, cut them down and place them on the ground, and roll the supplies forward on logs. This should allow us to transport everything faster and with less effort."
"That's too much hassle, I could just..." Hal began to speak, but Shiller poined him with his umbrella, then looked at him disdainfully, saying, "Are you thinking of cheating?"
"I..." Hal was choked for a mont, then he ca to Shiller's side and whispered, "Haven't you cheated?"
"I did take advantage of so special ability before, but from now on, I don't intend to do so."
Hal snorted coldly, saying, "Let's bet then, let's see who will be the first to use their superpower, who can't resist cheating first, will lose."
"Let's bet. If you lose, you'll be in charge of the Green Lantern Corps' work for the following two months..."
While the two were talking, Arthur had already started looking for suitable wood. Soon, he found a few suitable trees not far from the crash site of the plane.
Palm trees are not difficult to cut down, especially with the wreckage of a massive airplane lying nearby. Arthur searched within the wreckage and found sharp pieces of tal. He found several such tal pieces. After stacking them together, he smashed their edges with a rock.
After smashing several tis, the edges were crumpled together, then he smashed two grooves at the bottom, tied them up with palm leaves, and put the handle at the bottom and tied them a few tis to make a simple axe.
Just as Shiller thought he was going to swing this axe and start cutting down trees, he realized that it wasn't an axe at all, but a sickle.
Arthur hooked the tal portion onto the trunk of a tree and began to saw back and forth. Soon, a shallow imprint was cut into the tree trunk. With more sawing back and forth, the tree would fall quickly.
Shiller observed his movents, then turned and walked into the wreckage. He found a larger piece of tal and then began searching the ground for rocks. Hal, wondering what he was up to, asked, "What are you planning to do?"
"I'm going to make a saw, help find so suitable rocks," Shiller replied.
Hal and Shiller began to search the ground for rocks, soon finding ones of similar size. The two of them repeatedly bent the tal plate, so they could cut it at the weak points, and then used rocks to create indentations in the cut areas, creating a rudintary saw.
As Shiller ca over with the saw, Arthur seed a bit surprised. Shiller raised the saw, sowhat smugly, only for Arthur to say, "Oh, I was going to make a saw, but I couldn't handle such a large tal plate by myself..."
"Why didn't you ask for help?" Shiller asked.
"Er..." While Arthur was sawing the tree with his small sickle, he answered, "Well, Professor, you don't look like you're much of a worker."
Arthur put it very tactfully. Shiller looked down at himself, Arthur was 185 cm tall, and Shiller was two centiters taller than him, but he was not as sturdy as Arthur.
Arthur, with his Schwarzenegger-like physique, matched his young fisherman identity very well. Comparatively, Shiller looked a little thin. He sighed, turned to Hal, who ca up rubbing his hands, saying, "How about it, need any help?"
"Never mind. You don't look like much of a worker either." With that, Shiller picked up his saw and went to cut down trees.
Hal looked down at himself. He was a centiter taller than Shiller, but like Shiller, the two of them were rather slim, nowhere near as wide as Arthur.
Looking at Arthur's mountainous biceps, he flexed his own arm, striking a bodybuilder's pose, then patted his own muscles, saying quietly, "Not bad."
Then rembering Arthur was only 19 years old, he sighed and went to help Shiller carry wood.
In truth, the amount of muscle had no impact on Shiller and Hal, they weren't reliant on muscle strength. Therefore, when the two of them had easily cut down and carried a dozen or so tree trunks, Arthur was left gaping at the pile of palm wood, saying,
"Professor, you've amazed . Even the strongest fishern on our island wouldn't be able to gather this much wood so quickly..."
Although they had agreed not to cheat, the two who had actually used their special physiques coughed awkwardly, then looked towards Arthur's achievent.
In just over ten minutes, Arthur had already gathered four logs. This was no easy feat because apart from physical strength, there were differences in their tools.
Arthur easily carried a thick palm tree trunk, Hal and Shiller both turned their heads to watch as he carried the wood from one side to the other. Hal nudged Shiller with his elbow, saying,
"Are you sure we can beat him without cheating?"
"Of course... I'm not sure."
