Chen Xiaobei was startled and almost went limp. A surge of unprecedented rage welled up in his chest, and his furious gaze locked onto Xia Xue.

But then, he noticed that Xia Xue was even more shocked than he was, her beautiful eyes filled with disbelief.
"Ahhhh!" Xia Xue shrieked. "He Lisan, you beast! You said you wouldn’t film it! Why are you doing this?" She grabbed a pillow and hurled it at He Lisan.
He Lisan swatted the pillow away and said coldly, "Xia Xue! You promiscuous slut! I step out for a bit of business, and you two hook up? Where does that leave my reputation as the town mayor? And to think you’re a teacher! Is this how you set an example? No wonder even your students like to sell themselves!"
A smirk played on He Lisan’s lips. His sharp words rendered Xia Xue’s already pale face completely colorless.
"He Lisan, you... you’re a beast! You’ll be struck by lightning! I... I don’t want to live anymore!" Xia Xue broke down. Seeing a fruit knife on the bedside table, she grabbed it, intending to kill herself.
"Sister Xia, calm down!" Chen Xiaobei snatched the knife away and quickly covered Xia Xue’s exposed body with a blanket.

He Lisan was stunned. "What did you say?"

On the bed, Xia Xue’s eyes grew moist as she gazed at Chen Xiaobei’s imposing figure. Is he standing up for ? she wondered.
He Lisan’s face turned purple with rage. "Well played, Chen Xiaobei! I can’t believe we were all fooled by you," he barked. "But so what? You’d better do as I say, or you know the consequences." He shot a aningful glance at his three henchn, who drew their batons and advanced.
"Trash!"
At that sa instant, Chen Xiaobei moved. He Lisan barely registered a blur as Chen Xiaobei’s fists slamd into their faces.
BANG! BANG!
A series of agonized cries rang out as the jaws of all three n were shattered. They fainted on the spot.
"Oh my god!" He Lisan was so scared he nearly pissed himself. These three were the best fighters from the town’s security detail and his personal cronies. Who would have thought they couldn’t even withstand a single punch from Chen Xiaobei?
Just then, he saw Chen Xiaobei produce a Silver Needle and start walking toward him.
"Chen Xiaobei, what... what are you doing?" He Lisan stamred weakly, his legs turning to jelly. "I’m warning you! I’m the mayor! My dad is He Yongkun! If you dare to touch , the He family won’t let you get away with this!"
"Who said I was going to harm you? I just want to treat your illness!" Chen Xiaobei grabbed the scoundrel by the collar and, with a sudden movent, plunged the Silver Needle into his chest.
"What did you do to ?" He Lisan was terrified. A mont later, a sensation like thousands of ants gnawing at his heart erupted in his chest. The pain was so intense that he collapsed to his knees.
"Aaaahhhhh! It hurts! It’s killing !" He Lisan shrieked, rolling on the floor with his eyes bulging. "Chen... Chen Xiaobei! Doctor Chen! Grandfather! I... I was wrong! Please, spare !" The pain was unbearable, and he desperately clung to Chen Xiaobei’s pant leg.
"Can’t take it already?" Chen Xiaobei kicked him away. "Compared to what you did to Sister Xia, this little bit of pain is nothing!"
"I... I was wrong! I’m sorry for what I did to Xia Xue! I’m a beast! Please let go!" He Lisan pleaded, slapping his own face. "Xiao Xue, I’m not human! Please, ask him to let go!"
On the bed, Xia Xue was a ss of tears, clutching her knees tightly, a pitiful sight to behold. Chen Xiaobei simply pulled her into his embrace.
"He Lisan, that Silver Needle will activate three tis a day. Each ti, the pain will make you wish you were dead," Chen Xiaobei said coolly. "But I’m a kind-hearted person. If you serve well, I might consider sparing you one day. Of course, you can try to have it surgically removed, but don’t say I didn’t warn you. Fresh tears stread down Xia Xue’s face. Overco with emotion, she looked at Chen Xiaobei and stamred, "Xiaobei, I... I..."

"He Lisan," Chen Xiaobei commanded, pointing toward the kitchen. "I’m going to sleep with your wife now. You, get to the kitchen and kneel on the washboard. Don’t you dare get up without my permission. And while you’re at it, make my breakfast in the morning. Otherwise, I’ll kill you!"
