Rifindio didn't know whether to feel happy or sad with those words. Duere wanted to get rid of him but also believed in him in a twisted way.
"Continuing," Rean didn't stop there. "His plan was to wait for you to finish and report your findings. Even after your report, you would still need to wait a while to receive an answer from the Supre Palace, after all. His plan was to use that gap in ti to get rid of you, wiping out the only black spot in the Camazotz Bats from his generation."
Rifindio closed his eyes after hearing that. "Sigh... Naturally, things didn't go as he planned, right?"
Rean nodded. "Obviously. That day, when you tried to kill , I used Sister Orb to make your Spatial Formation collapse. Then, we were all dragged into that Black Hole. You already know this."
"After we were gone, the area was investigated until the Inquisition Hall reported our disappearance and probable death. Duere ca over to check after that," Rean recounted the mories he got from Duere. "After you disappeared, the Supre Palace found Duere here in the mortal world, and as you can imagine, he was punished by coming here without any orders."
"To make things simple, the Supre Palace ordered Duere to stay here and investigate further into this case. Duere, naturally, couldn't go against those orders. He was forced to stay in the Mortal World for longer than he wanted, even though he also couldn't find any trace of you."
"Yet, it was during this forced investigation about our endings that he ended up checking a place near that Fragile Dinsional Realm. There, his bloodline was detected by the Abyssal Soul, and a passage to the outside was opened. Duere, who was in the Void Tempering Realm Late Stage at that point, didn't really feel any fear from a Dinsional Realm of the Mortal World. He entered to check it, assured that nothing could pose any real threat to him. Besides, perhaps he could truly find sothing useful in there after being forced to stay."
"During his investigation inside that Dinsional Realm, he noticed the presence of Chaos Energy, although it was just barely available. Nonetheless, for him, that was like winning the lottery. Everyone wanted a source of Chaos Energy for themselves in the Supre Palace, and he wasn't different. He couldn't use that place yet, but he was confident in his talent and high Camazotz Bat bloodline concentration. He was sure he would get strong enough to use Chaos Energy in the future."
"He went further into that Realm, looking for the place where the Chaos Energy was coming from. Finally, Duere found that Purple Crack in Space. That's where his luck ended. Just like it happened to you, Ridinfio, the Abyssal Soul caught him. Obviously, Duere didn't have us to save his ass. It first robbed him of his bloodline, weakening his body." Rean then pointed at the Abyssal Soul Shard. "With his strength and bloodline gone, it sent this Abyssal Soul Shard into his Soul."
"What happened next was pretty simple. Once the Abyssal Soul took complete control over Duere, it gave Duere back his bloodline and even used the Chaos Energy there to force Duere to have a breakthrough into the Peak Stage of the Void Tempering Realm."
Zangeshu couldn't help but ask. "You ntioned before that the Mortal World laws would keep pushing those at the Void Tempering Realm and above back to the Higher Realms, right. How co Duere stayed here for so long?"
Rean nodded. "That was exactly why the Abyssal Soul forced Duere to have a breakthrough. It used Chaos Energy instead of Divine Energy, and above all, the Soul Shard connection with his soul. I don't understand the principle behind it very well, but the Abyssal Soul was able to hide Duere from the Mortal World laws by doing that. I believe it created a forced connection that impeded the Mortal World Laws from separating the two, but it is just a guess. In any case, with nothing pushing Duere back to the Higher Realms, Duere's body could stay here for as long as needed."
"The Abyssal Soul then used Duere's authority as a mber of the Supre Palace to take control over the Inquisition Halls all over the Solar System."
Kentucky raised his wing. "What about the Supre Palace? Duere stayed here for over four hundred years. Considering his talent, I'm sure the Supre Palace noticed his delay and asked why he hasn't co back yet, right? After all, even if they punished Duere by forcing him to stay for a while, I doubt this 'while' was four hundred years worth of ti."
"They did," Rean nodded. "But Duere simply answered that he believed Rifindio wasn't really dead, and he would not go back until he resolved this issue. You see, Duere was indeed a very talented Camazotz Bat, and he had a high concentration of the Camazotz Bat bloodline. However, he was far from the only one like that. The Supre Palace had many others."
"Besides, this is nothing but a simple mortal planet and a mortal solar system. Even if the Supre Palace thought Duere was doing sothing here... why bother? The Supre Palace has an entire Universe to take care of. There are billions, trillions, maybe even more similar solar systems in this Universe alone. Whatever Duere was trying to do here, it mattered not to the grand scale of things."
"Since Duere himself didn't want to go back, so be it. They gave him permission to return, and that was all they had to do. Not to ntion, it was still sowhat considered part of the Mission passed over by the Werdlem Main Universe. Duere had all the excuses he needed to stay, and no one in the Supre Palace would waste their ti coming to the Mortal World to check on him. You see, four hundred years might look like a lot. Yet, to the higher-ups of the Supre Palace, who have probably been living for at least a few million years, this can't even be compared to a blink of an eye."
Rean shrugged. "With that out of the way, Duere... or the Abyssal Soul, to be more specific, started to put its plans into practice."
