Roan didn't care, and simply used the Divine Stones he 'borrowed' from the guy back in the Mortal World to pay the entrance fee. The two followed the queue, finally ending inside the City.
The city's na was Etijei, located in the country of Romane. It wasn't by no ans a big city, quite small in the context of the south of the Divine Realm. Still, the city alone had well over fifty million inhabitants, giving Roan and Kentucky the feeling that this was indeed a city of a higher realm.
Back in the Realm of Gods even the small cities had millions upon millions of inhabitants,
with the big ones easily surpassing several billion. This city is aligned with that type of environnt.
The first thing Roan did was to go to a CD selling shop with Kentucky so they could acquire a new CD from the Divine Realm... or so they intended to. However, no such shop was available there. Not only that, by spreading their Divine Senses, Roan and Kentucky couldn't see a single expert using such a device.
"Sothing's not right." Roan continued to walk in the city and went to the city center with Kentucky.
There, Roan entered a restaurant, asking for so food from the waiter. When the guy ca back with the dishes, Roan took the opportunity to ask. "We are new here. Is the Werdlem Network available in this city?"
"Werdlem Network? What is that?" The waiter asked back, confused.
"Eh?" Kentucky looked at the guy's dantian with his Divine Sense, and he could see the Divine Werdlem Stone attached to it. "The one you use your Divine Werdlem Stone to access the network? You have one right there."
The waiter looked down and understood Kentucky was pointing at his Werdlem Stone. It's just that it wasn't called by such a na there. "Oh! You are talking about the Dantian Regulators. Divine Werdlem Stone... You must be from quite far away since I've never heard such a na before."
"Dantian... Regulators?" Roan and Kentucky didn't understand anything. "Can you tell us more about them?"
"I could, but I'm busy right now," the waiter answered. "Why don't you go to the City Hall. The terminals there have access to the general network. Pretty much any question you have can probably be found in there. Well, you would do even better if you just used your Virtual-" Yet, the waiter was forced to turn around before finishing his words. His boss was already looking at him with an ugly face due to how long he was spending on Roan and Kentucky's table. Without another choice, he quickly left.
"Roan," Kentucky was the first one to talk. "Do you rember the formations that almost killed everyone back in Closal planet?"
Roan knew where Kentucky was coming from. "The Divine Werdlem Stones that Karev took from the formation core room were not normal Divine Werdlem Stones. Instead, they were used as regulators and couldn't be used by people. That's what the other idiot said."
"Exactly," Kentucky agreed. "The waiter called them Dantian Regulators. Could there be a connection?"
Roan closed his eyes for a mont, acknowledging the possibility. "Perhaps." *Zush!*
Suddenly, Rean appeared outside, joining Roan and Kentucky while no one else was paying attention. "You know, the system changed our landing point to this place, and now we found out no one seems to know what the Werdlem Empire is. I don't think this is a coincidence."
Roan and Kentucky saw sense in Rean's words. "The shit system always finds problems for us. Let's try to leave this place be and not get involved with anything."
None of them thought they would succeed, though.
Paying the bill, the twins and Kentucky went to the City Hall. It was an enormous building, and thousands of residents ca in and out of it nonstop. Finally, when Roan passed by a cultivator, he noticed sothing. The guy was walking, but he seed absent-minded as if he was paying attention sowhere else.
As the guy's cultivation was much lower than Roan's, he sent his Spiritual Sense inside to take a look. There, he found a tiny device that seed attached to the man's brain. 'Take a look at this.'
Seeing Roan's mories, Rean imdiately sent his own Divine Sense into the guy's head, and he paid very close attention to the tiny device. 'Wow! No wonder they don't have CDs here. In fact, they have, but it is directly connected to their brains. This guy is literally having a call with soone else. So many micro-runes. They don't lose to the runes I created back in Lisan at all. No, I would say they are actually more advanced.'
Rean's Divine Sense left the young man's head, entering soone else's body. Sure enough, Rean found the sa internal device there. Rean repeated the sa process a few tis. It didn't matter if they were from the demon beast or humanoid races. Every single one of them had the sa device attached to their brain.
'The waiter ntioned the word Virtual before he was forced to leave. It is probably connected to these devices,' Roan ntioned. 'Are these sothing similar to the Werdlem Soul Worms?'
Rean's attention was completely focused on the tiny devices. 'No,' Rean quickly reached that conclusion. 'From what I can see, they are truly ant for communication and information rather than control. It is very sophisticated, and I wish very much to take a look. Still, definitely not sothing related to controlling one's mind. What about you, Sister Orb?'
Sister Orb was also looking at them from the Dinsional Realm. [Hard to say from here. Can you kidnap soone and bring them inside? I'll have a better idea at that point. For now, they are so tiny that I didn't even notice them at first. The formation waves, energy, connections, and everything else happening inside are so compact that it is difficult to have a good reading.]
'I will arrange that. A certain soone seems very eager to put his hands on one as well,' Rean comnted, looking at Zangeshu in the Dinsional Realm.
Zangeshu's eyes were shining as he heard Rean's words. He truly wished to put his hands on one of those devices.
