Roan and the others’ attention was piqued, and they looked in the direction Rifindio pointed at. "A chosen?"
"Yes," Rifindio nodded. "At the very least, this new expert gives the sa feeling as the Hibiscus from before."
"What do we do? Do they know we are here?" Kentucky was the one to ask this ti.
Rifindio confird. "We can feel each other, after all. And I don’t think there is a difference in the range of perception for the chosen ones."
Kentucky noticed sothing straight away after that. "Hey... the celestial bodies’ shower stopped moving."
As ntioned before, the shower followed the experts who got close to the Astral Tree. It hit the area several kiloters around them and kept falling all the way up to the tree. Only once you got to the branches did it stop.
At that mont, the area where the celestial bodies were falling stopped moving. However, they continued falling, which ant the group attracting it stopped moving and kept dealing with it in the sa place. "No doubt now. Their Chosen noticed Rifindio and told his companions."
"If their chosen spoke about that, then this chosen also ca to know about his situation, just like we did. Perhaps his companions are also aware of what this chosen thing is," Rifindio observed. "So, what do we do?"
Roan snorted. "This shit was made so the chosen would kill each other. If Rifindio doesn’t go after the guy, he or she will probably co after him. Co with . Celis, you stay. We can waste ti without Divine Energy, but we can’t waste ti without Starlight Energy."
"Very well," Celis was more than happy to hear that.
Roan got up and sprinted back to the tree trunk. Rean, Kentucky, and Rifindio quickly followed him. Soon, they got back to where the trunk and... Roan sat down. "Now we wait."
"We wait? I thought you would attack them, prepare an ambush, or sothing like that." Rifindio couldn’t see why they would do nothing.
Rean smiled, understanding. "That’s exactly what the enemy will think about. They are in a precarious condition where they need to resist the shower and can’t go up, afraid of us doing sothing here."
"Hum?" Kentucky narrowed his eyes. "But if they don’t co, they will die in the shower of celestial bodies sooner or later. Sure they will give up and try to leave the Astral Tree area if they don’t co up, right?"
"Possibly," Roan nodded. "But that’s not our problem. Rember. We aren’t here for any chosen bullshit. We are here to cultivate. If they decide to flee, we will gladly accept their retreat. I want to go back to peaceful cultivation as soon as possible."
"Oh!" Rifindio and Kentucky’s eyes lit up. Indeed, they don’t really need to fight or kill anyone. Just making them run away is more than enough. There is only one way up to the Astral Tree, after all. Even Kentucky wouldn’t be able to fly all the way up here, as seen before, let alone others.
Completely ignoring the struggling team below, they took their Divine Stones out and continued cultivating. If the group below begins to climb again, they would easily see it through the shower or Rifindio’s connection with the chosen.
Hundreds of kiloters down, spread on several vines around one side of the enormous trunk, a woman had a terrible expression on her face. "Fuck! Pardikan, are you sure there is another ambush above us?" She spoke while destroying an asteroid projection. The fragnts flew everywhere but were dealt with by her companions.
Pardikan nodded, his expression just as bad. "I obviously don’t know if it is an ambush. However, I’m feeling that connection with soone else up there. I don’t know what it is about. Don’t forget that Demon Bird from Universe F955 imdiately attacked us with his group when they spotted us. We only managed to find sothing about being a chosen or so bullshit like that."
This chosen guy was exactly the sa as Rifindio and the twins’ group. He only ca to know about his condition in this palace, and his companions learned about it with him. Without knowing, they were definitely following the rules as none of them knew anything before. But, one thing they were certain, the chosen ones were enemies... or so they believed.
*Boom!*
*Arrrghhh!*
One of their companions was struck by one of the celestial bodies aftermath, having noticed the danger too late. He didn’t die, but he sustained quite so injuries as he left the area of the impact.
Pardikan’s eyes narrowed, and he looked at the woman. "Citchi, this is not working. Whether we climb and face whatever is up there or we need to leave and forget about the astral tree."
Citchi didn’t want to give up. She and so of her companions cultivated with Starlight Energy, and this Astral Tree ant a lot to them. At the mont, she was in the Peak Stage of the Divinity Realm. But she was sure that if she or soone in her group managed to break through into the Celestial Realm, they would need a lot more Starlight Energy.
Citchi gritted her teeth, passing the order. "We are going up! If things turn out badly, you can just run away. Pardikan, don’t take it personally, but you will be our bait. Whatever this chosen bullshit is, it is obviously related to you, and this problem is on you as well."
Pardikan sighed. "I was expecting that. Alright, I’m going up ahead. Give cover when we get near the branches."
And so, that group made the decision and continued to climb. Kentucky and Rifindio noticed that, warning the others. "They are coming up."
Roan stopped cultivating. "Quite the guts. Kentucky, can you see how many?"
Kentucky’s eyes filled with Divine Energy, and his vision improved many tis. After a few seconds, he spoke. "They are quite far below, and the explosions make it difficult to see. But I think I can see around seven or eight."
Rean agreed. "The size of the shower following them also matches the number Kentucky gave."
"Very well." Roan got up again. "Call Celis. If they try to cause trouble, we will deal with them."
