There were a few more things worth asking, but nothing as important as what they had discussed up to this point. They tried to ask for so more restricted information about the Werdlem Empire’s main Universe, but neither Ximao nor Krue’Suan answered their questions. It might be because they also have sealed mories, or just because it would be too risky.
Nonetheless, the amount of information acquired now was truly worth all the trouble... or not. If Roan could choose, he would definitely have kept their secret covered even if he got no answer for all the previous questions.
"So, anything else?" Ximao asked once again, hoping they had finished.
"Hum... you probably don’t know the answer to this question, but I’m going to ask anyway," Rean ca up with sothing. "What exactly did Caladara put in our bodies? It seems like it will have no impact on our secret going forward, but it would be better if we at least know what she did."
"Sorry," Ximao shook his head in response. "But whatever she used was beyond my knowledge."
"Is she one of these so-called God Realm Experts you ntioned?" Celis ca out again to join the conversation with Kentucky.
"Maybe?" Ximao didn’t know. "The Celestial Plane is a mystery. She might actually be a Celestial Realm Expert that just happens to live there. Too bad that even if I asked, I’m certain she wouldn’t have answered. She is definitely stronger than your average Celestial Realm Expert, though."
"Then that’s all," Roan decided to end the conversation there. "I will obviously hold my end of the deal. So, do you wish to start working on it straight away?"
"That goes without saying." Ximao was delighted. "Let’s start!"
Krue’Suan then left, leaving only Rean and Roan behind. Celis and Kentucky, who ca out for the conversation, also returned to the Celestial Soul Dinsional Realm.
Still, the twins’ group kept talking about what they learned through their connections.
[Ignoring the part where we have been found, it didn’t turn out as bad as it could,] Sister Orb comnted. [First, we managed to stay hidden all the way up to the ’Space Bending Realm,’ and even now, only three people know the truth. Ximao, Krue’Suan, and that woman called Caladara. We obviously can’t trust them, but for now, it doesn’t seem like they will be revealing our real identities.]
Rean agreed, but he had his doubts. ’It is true. But there is a problem. Caladara left sothing in us, didn’t she? Sister Orb, can you find what it is?’
Sister Orb was way ahead. [Already did. It’s about the ’cover’ that Victor left on you so no one would find out you ca from outside the Werdlem Empire. What Caladara left on you was basically the sa thing. In a certain way, she reinforced this cover, and now it is even harder for anyone to see through. Victor should indeed be the only one capable of detecting it, and from the looks of it, he could use Caladara’s cover to find her later.]
’That is where the problem lies,’ Celis could see Rean’s concerns. ’First of all, Victor is actually just soone responsible for a small area where the Rank F Universes exist. Caladara thinks he is so big shot, but the truth is that Caladara likely holds a much, much higher position than he does.
’Then there is Caladara herself. What she left on our bodies was supposed to be used by Victor so he could go out there and find her. However, Victor will need to co to us first and check it. Will we ever et Victor again? I highly doubt so. At least not so soon. So, we will be relying on Caladara’s patience. If no one contacts her after a long ti, chances are she will co down to look for us again.’
’Exactly,’ Roan agreed with Celis. ’Sister Orb, if we need it, would you be able to remove this cover from Caladara?’
[Yes.] Sister Orb confird. [I had plenty of ti to analyze Victor’s intervention all those years ago, after all. As long as you give the order, I can get rid of Caladara’s influence on your bodies.]
’Is it so kind of tracker?’ Kentucky wondered.
[I’m not certain,] Sister Orb answered straight away. [It’s clear that Victor and Caladara harnessed energy from the Celestial Plane to conceal our outsider traits. Since this type of energy is rare here, they might be capable of detecting our presence through it. Should I eliminate Caladara’s energy imdiately?]
’No,’ Roan imdiately refused that idea. ’For now, we are safe. Do you rember what Caladara was murmuring and cursing about when she was leaving? She was complaining that it would take her another fifty years just to go back from where she ca. It is definitely not the Werdlem Main Universe. After all, soone with her power and authority should have full access to the Great Void Shifter Formations. Let alone fifty years, she would likely get to the Werdlem Universe in minutes.’
’These next fifty or so years might be the necessary ti for soone like her to return to the Celestial Plane. Her perception of ti is different from ours. In the worst-case scenario, I believe she will wait at least a few thousand years before she runs out of patience from not being visited by anyone. At that ti, she is also unlikely to go report about us to the Werdlem Empire straight away. Instead, if I were her, I would co down here to check on us first.’
[Hum...] Sister Orb pondered. [Wouldn’t it be easier and safer to get rid of her energy and then go sowhere else? We could start a new identity from scratch.]
’That is worse,’ Rean understood Roan. ’Because if we do that, Caladara will likely report the existence of outsiders to the Werdlem Empire instantly. Don’t forget, we aren’t just outsiders, we are balance breakers. She just believes we were brought here by soone important in the Werdlem Empire, and this person obviously doesn’t exist. Unless, of course, Victor is this so-called ’soone important’ and we didn’t know. I doubt that’s the case, though.’
Roan agreed. ’Rean is right. That’s why we shouldn’t touch Caladara’s ’contribution’ to our camouflage for the following years. Instead, we will use this extra contribution to focus on our cultivation. Besides, if we get rid of it and try to start again, all the Rank A Universes would now be looking for us, for people who use abilities similar to ours. We, balance breakers, must be found at all costs. For now, ssing with Caladara’s energy and trying to disappear will definitely play against us.’
[Alright. Then it is decided. We will keep Caladara’s cover and follow with the initial plan. Make a na for yourselves and hopefully leave the Werdlem Empire before she grows too impatient.]
’Yes!’ Everyone agreed.
