Tobao watched him disappear toward the entrance before letting out a disappointed sigh.
"Is that so..." He slowly turned away. "Let’s go, Arcis."
"Uh?!" Arcis stared at him in disbelief. "You’re just letting him leave like that?"
Tobao nodded. "He was right about one thing. We don’t really possess enough strength to kill him. In fact, considering the difference in cultivation, there’s a very real possibility he’d be the one walking away alive if we fought to the death."
His expression remained surprisingly calm. "If he’s willing to destroy the future of his own Region for one last opportunity, then so be it."
Then, a faint smile appeared on Tobao’s face. "Besides... that sealed box is extremely secure. I’m rather curious whether he’ll manage to open it without triggering the Spatial Storage Self-Destruction."
Xigazou chuckled. "A smart decision, and don’t worry. I’ll definitely manage to open it, even if it takes a little time."
Tobao ignored him and glanced toward Trombe instead. "I suppose I don’t need to tell you that there’s no longer any place for you in Besgol." His tone carried neither anger nor disappointment anymore. "Your access to the Besgol Region Network has already been revoked."
Trombe remained pletely indifferent. "It doesn’t matter."
Without another word, Tobao flew back toward Rean’s airplane.
Arcis still looked unwilling to leave, glaring at Xigazou for a few more seconds before clicking his tongue in annoyance.
"Tch."
In the end, he transformed back into his humanoid form and entered the airplane as well. Moments later, the Light Bending Arrays activated once again, causing the aircraft to disappear from sight before quietly flying away.
Only after Tobao and Arcis had pletely vanished from his Celestial Sense did Xigazou finally relax.
He immediately changed his plans.
Taking out his own airplane from his Spatial Ring, he looked toward Trombe, Curvato, and Klasto. "e. You’ve done well, but we can’t remain here any longer."
A confident smile appeared on his face. "I prepared another hiding place myself. No one will find us there."
The three immediately nodded.
Now that things had reached this point, there was no turning back. Their only hope lay with Xigazou.
"Yes, Senior."
---
On the way back to the Besgol Region, Tobao immediately sent out orders for everything that happened to be transmitted to as many Regions as possible. Naturally, the information was also sent directly back to Ocalfin.
Arcis, who had already calmed down pletely, looked at Tobao while sitting inside Rean’s airplane.
"What do you think Ocalfin will do?"
The anger he had shown earlier was nowhere to be seen. In truth, Arcis had never truly been too angry at Xigazou. Everything had simply been an act to make the situation look as realistic as possible.
After all, the sealed box never contained a Godly Apex Crystal in the first place.
Tobao and Arcis had only pretended that it did exist in order to lure out whoever was behind the attempt to steal it. Their goal was never to fight Xigazou or any of the traitors. They only needed to identify the mastermind.
Now that they had confirmed who it was, the rest would be handled by the alliance.
"The Ocalfin Region only has two Law Gods," Tobao explained. "One of them only became a Law God a few decades ago, so he still lacks experience and influence. That means they don’t have many options."
He looked out of the airplane’s window, deep in thought.
"That said, they have two possible choices."
"Either they announce that Xigazou is being banished and attempt to preserve their position within the Regions Alliance..."
Tobao paused for a moment.
"Or they side with Xigazou because of their lack of Law Gods, especially since Xigazou is a Peak Stage Law God."
Arcis already understood what Tobao was implying. "I know you said it wouldn’t happen earlier, but the truth is that the second option is much more likely to happen."
Tobao nodded slightly. "I’m afraid so."
He had already seen this kind of situation before. A Region with a powerful expert would often choose to protect that expert, even when that person was clearly in the wrong. They simply couldn’t let go of him due to how important they were for the region’s defense.
"I’m pretty sure they will side with Xigazou."
Arcis couldn’t help but shake his head. "The future isn’t looking very bright for Ocalfin."
"It’s a pity," Tobao replied with a sigh.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
The situation wasn’t something they wanted to see happen. Even though Xigazou was the one responsible for everything, the consequences would not fall only on him. An entire Region would have to deal with the aftermath of his actions.
However, there was nothing else they could do.
"Anyway," Tobao said, breaking the silence, "let’s return and begin the petitions."
Arcis nodded before suddenly remembering something. "Wait. Shouldn’t we cancel one of the petitions?"
Tobao glanced at him. "Why?"
"To make it look more realistic," Arcis explained. "Even if he doesn’t open the box, he likely has more spies in Besgol. Once he sees that ten petitions are still taking place, he will understand that his box might actually not have anything."
Tobao shook his head. "No need."
He smiled faintly. "I will simply pretend I don’t need a crystal anymore and give my own to the tenth petition, and I will announce that publicly."
Arcis understood immediately. "Then you’ll just claim you broke through naturally later?"
"Exactly." Tobao nodded. "Since we still have all twelve crystals, there won’t be any problem. I can simply say that I managed to achieve my breakthrough through my own cultivation after another year or two."
Arcis couldn’t help but laugh. "I truly wish I could see Xigazou’s expression when he finally opens that box and realizes there was never a Godly Apex Crystal inside."
A grin appeared on his face. "Even better, if he es back and accuses us of lying, who will believe him?"
He laughed again. "He’ll have no evidence, and even if he tells everyone that we tricked him, nobody will care. The only thing everyone will remember is that he betrayed his own alliance and attempted to steal another Region’s resources."
Tobao also smiled slightly. "That is exactly why Roan’s plan worked."
The two Law Gods looked ahead as the airplane continued toward Besgol.
The crisis had been resolved.
The culprit had been found.
And soon, the entire Regions Alliance would know the truth.
All of that without really having to fight anyone.
For now, all that remained was to continue with the petitions and wait for Xigazou to discover the truth behind the sealed box.
