Now reading: Chapter 629: Subduing the Mountain Spirit, and the Escort Is from Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God, a Fantasy novel by 暴力紫皮人.

Just as Lin Yu had anticipated, after he spoke those words, 'belief' did not imdiately surge forth.

This was normal, after all... such a thing was still too unbelievable for the natives of the "Prison Mountain Realm."

But Lin Yu knew he didn't need to do anything extra.

He just needed to lift the Mountain Demon Leader's heavy head, place the Collar in his hand around the other's neck, which was as thick as an old tree...

And then, he felt a massive surge of 'belief'.

These native dart masters of the Prison Mountain Realm didn't disbelieve what Lin Yu had said; they just needed ti to process one thing—that while Lin Yu's words were indeed unbelievable...

Couldn't what these two won just did also be described as "unbelievable"?

If an ordinary person claid they could eat an entire cow in one al, people wouldn't believe them. But if that person had just punched a cow to death monts ago, then people might have to consider whether there was so truth to their claim.

And once there was enough 'belief', this original conjecture truly transford into fact.

"Lowly and foolish life, submit, obey, follow ."

Lin Yu whispered, activating the ability of the [Collar].

In the next mont, the Mountain Demon Leader's spiritual sense touched Lin Yu's spiritual sense, and then...

This huge, terrifying demonic creature witnessed sothing even more horrifying and irresistible.

Then, a flash of clarity passed through its chaotic, bloodthirsty pupils, followed by the ergence of loyalty towards Lin Yu!

It dragged its swaying body and respectfully bowed its head to Lin Yu.

"Xi—!"

The Mountain Demon Leader emitted a submissive snort.

Then, it made a series of snuffling, huffing syllables.

Lin Yu understood its aning through his 'Veterinarian' ability.

It was calling him "Great King" and praising his "imnse and mighty power"!

"It seems that although Mountain Demons are demonic creatures, the 'Veterinarian' ability is still effective."

However, Lin Yu wasn't able to understand its speech only *after* subduing the Mountain Demon Leader with the [Collar].

The 'Veterinarian' ability had always been effective; it was just that the Mountain Demon Leader's roars earlier were truly nothing but roars.

Only now had it begun to formally produce aningful syllables to communicate with Lin Yu.

After understanding its aning, Lin Yu nodded in satisfaction and began to communicate with it.

"I want to ask you a few questions, is that okay?"

Ever since he realized the Mountain Demons had intelligence, aside from planning how to use these demonic creatures to farm belief, Lin Yu also developed the idea of potentially using the [Collar] to get one as a guide if the opportunity arose.

And upon seeing the Mountain Demon Leader, Lin Yu imdiately made up his mind.

This was the one!

He would have to try to beat it half to death and then attempt to subdue it later.

A demonic creature resembling a primate surely had decent intelligence, and its strong body would make a good Enforcer.

More importantly...

Judging from Yue Zhenqiao's reaction, the fact that this Mountain Demon Leader had co for their Escort Team was very abnormal!

So, he could personally ask this guy why it had mobilized its entire gang.

"Wu ci—hu xia."

The Mountain Demon Leader responded ekly, lowering its eyes, telling Lin Yu its answer.

"Questions, very agree."

Lin Yu wasn't in a hurry to get to the main point and spoke with considerable patience.

"What's your na? Do you have a na?"

Hearing Lin Yu's question, the Mountain Demon Leader pointed at itself and uttered three syllables.

"Lu Ji Ka!"

Then, it raised both hands, drew two large circles to the left and right, and then drew a circle in the middle.

Lin Yu understood.

This guy's na was the three syllables "Lu Ji Ka," representing the collective term for the three suns in the sky.

"Good, then I'll call you Sanyang," Lin Yu said casually, not bothering with the three awkward syllables. "Sanyang, I ask you, why did you attack the Escort Team?"

"Gulu, xia xia!"

The Mountain Demon Leader, now called "Sanyang," was actually quite happy to hear Lin Yu give it a new na. It gestured again and made a few more syllables.

"Because you're hungry?" Lin Yu furrowed his brow. "That's not what I'm asking. I want to know why you ca personally, bringing so many of your underlings. You rarely mobilize on this scale, right?"

Mountain Demon Leader Sanyang pointed at the carriage: "Xia! Yu, xia!"

Lin Yu understood.

Sanyang was saying it could sense that within the carriage was a certain presence, one that held a fatal allure for it, other Mountain Demons, and even other demonic creatures.

He nodded. "I understand."

But Lin Yu couldn't help being curious internally. "Old Zheng, our spiritual sense detection can't penetrate this carriage. How is it that this beast can actually sense sothing inside?"

Old Zheng wasn't surprised and patiently explained to Lin Yu. "Spiritual sense detection isn't the only ans of perception, it's just the most efficient and versatile... The martial artists and demonic creatures of the Prison Mountain Realm have very vigorous qi and blood, possessing sothing they call 'qi sense'—they can intuitively sense danger, other powerful beings, or things beneficial to themselves through their own physical condition."

Lin Yu narrowed his eyes instead. "I see... That's strange, then. This carriage, as a product of the 'Prison Mountain Realm,' specifically blocks spiritual sense detection, which should be relatively rare in this realm, yet leaves an opening for the demonic creatures' 'qi sense perception.' It feels almost... intentional."

It seed that joining this Escort Team required vigilance against far more than just three potential Players.

The Escort Team itself was carrying trouble.

Of course... fortunately, this trouble wasn't his to worry about.

He turned his gaze towards the group of dart masters—earlier, when Lin Yu acted, their feelings were mostly admiration, but now...

Only awe remained.

After all, Lin Yu had truly "tad" an entire demonic creature right before their eyes, even making it obediently answer several of his questions.

Admittedly, many powerful demonic creatures possessed high intelligence and could even disguise themselves as humans and speak human language.

But... that was a different matter from making a demonic creature obediently and ekly answer questions.

Especially when this demonic creature had looked extrely fierce and insane not long ago.

Lin Yu ignored the gazes of these people and then looked at Yue Zhenqiao, speaking gently and peacefully.

"Dart Head Yue."

"Yes."

Yue Zhenqiao imdiately replied, his voice even carrying a hint of tension.

"I just asked this guy. It said the reason it mobilized its entire gang and ca personally to attack you is because the things inside these three carriages hold a strong allure for it, or for demonic creatures in general."

"Would it be convenient to disclose what exactly is loaded inside?"

Yue Zhenqiao's expression changed slightly.

"This... is there a problem with our dart?"

Seeing Yue Zhenqiao's expression and hearing his rhetorical question, Lin Yu's beautiful brows tightened, the softness in his voice diminishing by more than half.

"It seems you also don't know what exactly you're escorting, do you?"
