Chapter 1303: Chapter 1307: The Beauty of Contradiction

After arriving at the villa, they sent their belongings to the room reserved by Gu Chi and promptly headed to the hot springs.

There is a shallow pool specifically designed for children, and floating toys are thoughtfully provided.

Gu Junzhu let Xueno and Yu Nuo accompany Lingyue and Xiao Shumiao to stay in the shallow pool.

Watching Xiao Shumiao gleefully splash into the water, completely forgetting to cling to Ye Xingbei, Fifth Lord of Gu was very pleased.

With Lingyue, Xueno, and Yu Nuo keeping company, Ye Xingbei had nothing to worry about. After watching Xiao Shumiao joyously play for a while, he and Gu Junzhu headed to their hot spring pool.

Fifth Lord of Gu doesn’t skimp on money; the reserved hot spring was naturally the best.

An independent spring source situated high up, the pool was vast, with walls constructed to resemble white jade.

Steaming water spurted from a copper dragonhead, grand and awe-inspiring, lifelike in its craftsmanship, coupled with the surrounding green mountains and blue skies above, Ye Xingbei felt as though he had traveled through ti to an ancient era.

In the changing room, she changed into a swimsuit and left the room.

Won always take a bit longer, and when she reached the poolside, Gu Junzhu was already dressed in swim trunks, soaking in the water.

Reclining against the pool wall, arms resting on the edge, he looked up at the sound of footsteps towards Ye Xingbei.

Faced with Gu Junzhu’s intense gaze, Ye Xingbei felt shy and dared not et his eyes.

She quickened her pace and walked to the edge of the hot spring.

Gu Junzhu stood up and reached out to her.

Ye Xingbei placed her palm in his.

With a pull, Gu Junzhu drew Ye Xingbei into his embrace.

Ye Xingbei let out a startled shriek.

Gu Junzhu held her steadily, smiling as he kissed her lips: “So scared? Do you think I would let you fall?”

Ye Xingbei playfully hit his shoulder.

Gu Junzhu chuckled and kissed her for a while, then placed her into the hot spring water.

Ye Xingbei sat against the pool edge, playfully splashing water at Gu Junzhu.

Gu Junzhu chuckled and dodged, sitting beside her, looking her up and down with a teasing smile, “Darling, just for the prescription Yue Yaer made, I feel signing her for fifty years was worth it.”

Ye Xingbei: “…I always felt Yue Yaer was the one at a loss, okay?”

“Really?” Fifth Lord of Gu pondered, “Why do I always feel like I’m the one at a loss?”

“Go away!” Ye Xingbei playfully pushed him, “Signing for fifty years, it’s almost like selling oneself into servitude. If she didn’t have her own difficulties, who would sign with you? Getting a bargain and still playing coy…despicable!”

Gu Junzhu pinched her cheek and smiled, “Since she agreed to sign, it ans she felt like she got the better deal. Who would do a business at a loss?”

Ye Xingbei: “…”

Okay.

That makes sense.

She values freedom the most, but for those who aren’t in control of their lives, there are many things more important than freedom.

For instance, to Han Zuo, if Gu Junzhu hadn’t rescued him in ti, he might have been killed in prison by his childhood friend Qin Wanyue.

Not to ntion fifty years, he might not have even lived past five years.

And Yue Yaer.

She doesn’t care about her fifty years, what she cares most about is avenging her mother.

Without Gu Junzhu’s help, she might never have been able to achieve her revenge.

So, she didn’t hesitate to trade fifty years for the chance to have Gu Junzhu help her seek vengeance.

Thinking of Yue Yaer, she turned her head to Gu Junzhu, “About Yaer’s matter, when we return to Beijing, we’ll need to act, are you ready?”

Gu Junzhu picked up the tea by the poolside and lazily took a sip, “Just dealing with a few clowns, is there even a need to prepare?”

“How are they just clowns?” Ye Xingbei said, “Although Senior Mada Xiang and Senior Master Xiang have divorced, Jii Chunjue is still Senior Master Xiang’s son-in-law. Concerning Senior Master Xiang’s reputation, would Senior Master Xiang really sit back and ignore it? Plus, it’s been so many years, the evidence must have been gone long ago, without evidence, how can we help Yaer seek revenge?”

“Don’t worry,” Gu Junzhu rubbed her head, “leave these matters to , you don’t need to worry, when have I ever let you down?”

Ye Xingbei considered, then nodded, “Okay, you’re right, you’ve always been top-notch at scheming, I’ve never seen you fail.”

Gu Junzhu feigned offense: “Why do I feel like that isn’t a complint?”

Ye Xingbei laughed, “It’s a complint, definitely a complint, I’m certainly praising you!”

Usually appearing ethereal and pure, unsmiling like a pristine mountain spring, yet when she giggles playfully, she’s like an enchanting fairy.

Such contradictory beauty blooms only in his presence, visible only to him.

How wonderful!
