Chi Zhan frowned, “Who is he?”
A man’s intuition made him very uncomfortable with Wang Peiling being stopped by the bodyguards.
Yue Yaer smiled faintly, “An ex-boyfriend… or perhaps, soone who almost beca my boyfriend, but the relationship withered right before it could blossom.”
Chi Zhan’s heart skipped a beat, his head a bit foggy, “An ex, ex-boyfriend?”
“Not exactly an ex-boyfriend,” Yue Yaer chuckled, “We agreed that if his parents thought we were suitable after eting them, we’d start dating. But his mother didn’t like , so we parted ways.”
Chi Zhan blurted out, “My mother likes you!”
After speaking, he was stunned for a few seconds, his face suddenly reddened.
Yue Yaer felt the hand supporting her arm tremble, the palm’s heat scorching, and she looked at Chi Zhan with a hint of amusent.
In her eyes, Chi Zhan was the kind of man who was very straightforward and decisive, with a personality… well… a bit reckless.
Probably because he had an older brother to support him, he was a bit spoiled and willful, acting impulsively without considering the consequences.

The car door closed, and Wang Peiling stared blankly as the car sped away.
After the car had gone far, the bodyguards released Wang Peiling, each getting into their cars and leaving.
Wang Peiling stood dazed in place for a long ti before he groggily got into his car.
He had no idea how he ended up back at the hospital or how he ca to stand before his mother.
The entire process was a blur.
Mother Wang, already in agony from a severe headache and feeling irritable, grew even angrier seeing his blank, wooden expression. She slapped his arm hard, “Wang Peiling, have you lost your soul?”
