“Forget it,” Ye Xingbei shook his head, “The past is the past, let’s focus on the present.”

“Good,” Gu Junzhu nodded, “That’s all for you. You can leave.”
After saluting the others, Lee Yi left the room.
The door of the study was closed again, leaving only Gu Junzhu, Ye Xingbei, and Ye Xingli.
Gu Junzhu asked Ye Xingli, “What do you think?”
“I believe Lee Yi was telling the truth,” Ye Xingli said, “Lee Yi’s parents are abroad. He had been living with his uncle since childhood and grew up in our house. I know him well. Just like his uncle, he is honest and loyal, and he wouldn’t lie to .”
Gu Junzhu nodded, “I also think he was telling the truth.”
He had studied psychology and could tell from minor facial expressions whether or not soone was lying.
As Lee Yi spoke to him, his gaze did not dart away, but was very open; his face and limbs showed no unnecessary movents, suggesting a clear and calm mind.
He was not lying.
Ye Xingbei clenched his fists and anxiously asked, “So, does this an that Ye Tao is lying? That everything she said never happened, and she is just threatening with a lie?”

Ye Xingbei, who had initially found so comfort in Lee Yi’s words, felt the anxiety rise up to his throat again.
Ye Xingli said, “Maybe it was a coincidence? Ye Tao wanted to find a reason to threaten Beibei, and thought up about Beibei being locked up in the basent years ago, so she made up those lies to scare Beibei. She’s also a girl, and she knows how important modesty and reputation are to a girl, so she made up that story.”
“That’s also a possibility,” Gu Junzhu said, “But the possibility is slim. According to common sense, Ye Tao would not make up such a story without reason. There must be a reason.”
“So, what do we do?” Ye Xingbei, looking pale and at a loss, asked, “So, we still don’t have a solution?”
“No,” Gu Junzhu held her hand, squeezing it comfortingly, “Lee Yi’s words suggest that it’s unlikely soone could have snuck into the basent unnoticed. We can take a gamble and arrest Ye Tao first.”
