Chapter 665: Chapter 668: Stunning the Ti
The pair found Qiao Zui and the two little ones, ready to take the kids out to play.
Ye Xingbei asked Qiao Zui, “Xiao Qiao, where is Fang Yao?”
Qiao Zui, with a blade of grass in his mouth, mumbled, “He’s off running an errand. Acted all mysterious and wouldn’t let co along. No idea what he’s up to.”
Ye Xingbei frowned, “Did he go alone?”
Though she didn’t voice it, both Gu Junzhu and Qiao Zui could see she was concerned for Fang Yao’s safety.
Qiao Zui chuckled having spat out the grass, “Aunt, rest assured. Even with one leg our captain would still be invincible. Though I can’t speak to other things, he should have no problem running away if needed.”
Ye Xingbei, “…Alright, I’m taking Xiao Shu and Xiao Yue out to play. Do you want to co along?”
“I’ll pass,” said Qiao Zui, stretching out leisurely, “You guys go and enjoy your family ti. I won’t be a third wheel.”
Gu Junzhu raised an eyebrow at him, “Aren’t you part of this family too?”
Qiao Zui jolted, laughing awkwardly while rubbing his arm, “Uncle, I am definitely part of your family! But being around you is rarely a joyous occasion. Besides, I’ve got so things to do. You guys have fun!”
Qiao Zui blew the little ones a kiss and ran off.
“Goodbye, cousin!” Xiao Shumiao put his soft little hand to his mouth, returning his kiss with enthusiasm.
His round, chubby face was so pink and white, his eyes bright and sparkling. He quickly brought his hand to his lips and then away again. He was just too cute for words.
Gu Junzhu couldn’t resist. He picked him up and gave him a big kiss, “What brand of cuteness are you drinking? How can you be this adorable?”
He was all smiles now. A stark contrast to the cold stare he had given Qiao Zui earlier.
Ye Xingbei poked him playfully, “If you were even one-tenth as gentle with Xiao Qiao as you are with Xiao Shu, Xiao Qiao wouldn’t run every ti he sees you.”
Gu Junzhu gave Xiao Shumiao another kiss on his soft cheek, watching the smile on his face, he retorted absentmindedly, “Why don’t you convince him to be even one-tenth as cute as Xiao Shumiao first. Then I can guarantee you I will show him the sa amount of gentleness.”
Ye Xingbei, “…Never mind, forget I said anything.”
The family of four successfully embarked on their trip.
Ye Xingbei, having lived in Country Y for five years, took them to a place called Yanming Valley.
Although Xiao Shumiao grew up in the country Y, due to his previous history with asthma, Ye Xingbei rarely took him to crowded places and had never taken him to places out in the “wild” to play before.
Once they had reached their destination, he had hopped out of the car holding Lingyue’s hand. Everything was so new and exciting to him, he was running around like a colt on a sugar rush.
The bodyguards had laid out oil cloths and blankets on the grass, complete with fruits and snacks.
Ye Xingbei, freshly recovered from a severe injury, was feeling rather lethargic. She sat down on the blanket, looking at the two little ones running around whilst wearing a faint smile, not feeling up to moving much.
The Fifth Lord of Gu had even brought a tea table over, preparing to brew tea right there on the grass.
With the clear air, warming sun, floral scents fluttering in the breeze and the trickling sounds of a nearby stream, the sight of Fifth Lord of Gu brewing tea was enough to paint a picture. His extraordinary looks, graceful movents, it was srizing.
Ye Xingbei rested her chin in her palm watching him. It wasn’t until he had finished brewing the tea, its clear liquid flowing from the pot into the bowls, that Ye Xingbei, having never been interested in tea before, felt that this brew must taste exceptionally good.
No wonder they call it “tea culture”.
