Chi Yue was left gasping for breath out of sheer anger.
“Forget it, Dad, don’t argue with him anymore,” Chi Yu said, patting his back to soothe him. “He believes that since we adopted him, we should give him a third of our family’s wealth. He can’t see any of the good we’ve done for him: even the slightest mistreatnt is seared into his heart. His mind is twisted, he thinks the whole world owes him, resents him. Getting angry with soone like this is not worth it.”
“It’s not who is sick, it’s you guys!” Chi Zhen yelled out. “You all claim to treat well but the car I drive is not as good as yours, the positions you occupy in the company are higher than mine, and I’m left out from the company’s inheritance. Nobody supports when I say I want to marry Chi Qing! You all might speak sweetly, but I know that you look down on , don’t even see as a person!”
Chi Yu laughed coldly. “You’re nothing more than my father’s nephew. We’ve done our best by taking you in; you still want rights to our family’s business? Chi Zhen, have you ever heard of an uncle’s company being inherited by a nephew? And you’re not even my father’s direct nephew. Our family took you in because my parents were soft-hearted. You, who are less than a pig or a dog, should never have been allowed through our family’s door!”
Chi Zhen seed to want to say more, but Chi Yu didn’t want to hear it.
He waved his hand. “Gag him. Take him to the basent and make him confess in detail all his dealings with Shi Muqiao, including where Shi Muqiao’s body is.”
The bodyguards efficiently gagged Chi Zhen’s mouth, knocked him out cold with a chop to his neck, and carried him away like a dead dog.
Chi Yue was bent over, struggling to catch his breath, covering his mouth as he coughed nonstop.
“Dad, having managed to expose this nace is a blessing for our whole family. You shouldn’t be upset anymore,” Chi Yu comforted, patting his back gently.
“I hurt Qingqing, hurt both of you brothers,” Chi Yue shook his head in pain, “If I had known that he was like this, I wouldn’t have been soft-hearted and brought him ho back then…looking at him, all quiet and weak, I never dread he would be like this.”
“Dad, it’s not your fault. Bad people don’t inscribe ‘I am bad’ on their faces,” Chi Yu said. “Chi Zhen did a great job of disguising himself, very polite, very concerning, who would know how deranged he was already? If not for Fifth Brother’s warning, I might never have thought to suspect him.”
“We must rember to thank him properly for the great kindness he’s shown our family,” Chi Yue said gratefully, turning to Gu Cheng, “Assistant Gu, after you return, please convey my thanks to your master.”
Gu Cheng nodded with a smile: “Mr. Chi, rest assured, we’ll deliver the ssage. If you need no further assistance, we’ll report back.”
Chi Yu said, “I’ll walk you out.”
Chi Yu personally escorted Gu Cheng and his n to their car. He said, “I used to think ho was unsafe. I promised my sister-in-law that our family would move in together. I never thought that we would catch Chi Zhen tonight, so I guess there should be no more issues at ho. Tomorrow, I’ll send my parents over. Please ask Dr. Yue to take care of their health. My wife and I won’t be staying over, as soone needs to be ho.”
“Okay,” Gu Cheng nodded, “I will inform the young master of your intentions.”
A few minutes later, Fifth Lord of Gu received a report: “…the ringleader has been caught, shouldn’t the whole family not move over now?”
It seems like they’ve beco attached to him after all!
