Not long after Aaron left, Alice and Grace arrived at the private room on the second floor.
Alice pulled out a chair and pushed the timid Grace onto it.
Then she turned her head to Louis and said, "Sorry for the wait."
Louis shook his head:
"No problem, I t an amusing and humorous old fellow."
"Oh? What's the situation?"
Seeing the curious looks from Alice and Grace, Louis began to recount the conversation he had with Aaron.
Grace didn't react much, but her gaze towards Louis was flickering.
Instead, it was Alice who showed a strange expression:
"Raised in the Lokeshi Empire, one of the three great human empires, but still believes in the Eternal Fierce Sun?"
"Is there sothing wrong?"
Louis asked curiously.
Imitating Louis, Alice picked up a piece of cowboy rib with chopsticks, took a bite, and showed a satisfied expression before saying:
"Of course, it's strange. Quite a number of people in the Lokeshi Empire actually don't believe in any god."
"This relates to the cultural customs of Lokeshi and their local professional system."
"Of course, that's not the main point."
As Alice spoke, her mouth didn't stop moving.
When Grace offered her food, she stuffed a soup-filled small stead bun into Grace's mouth.
She swallowed her food and said:
"The Eternal Fierce Sun has already fallen, which is sothing most believers of the Sunset Church take as given."
——Alice forked a mushroom seaweed roll.
"Without a god's church, even faith doesn't get feedback, let alone getting a priest job."
——Alice took a bite of sticky rice chicken.
"The Eternal Fierce Sun has fallen for so long. As a once top church on the continent, the Fiery Sun Church now renad to Sunset Church, already tells a lot of stories."
——Alice flaunted a crystal shrimp dumpling.
"Of course, there are so who refuse to believe, who probably think the Eternal Fierce Sun just disappeared, or ventured to more untouched places."
——Alice picked up a tripe.
(Alice: It's my darned food frenzy!)
Louis nodded, silently mourning Aaron for a minute.
It might have a coback on Blue Star, but on the Star Continent where gods exist, a church that fails to receive divine feedback can hardly be called a church.
In so respect, it's impressive that followers of the Eternal Fierce Sun managed to uphold the Sunset Church.
But he didn't dwell on it too much.
Everyone has their own fate, and Aaron seed not particularly bothered by this.
Then his chopsticks swiftly tapped on the last piece of cowboy rib.
Facing Alice who also clutched the rib, Louis kept a pleasant smile:
"Caesar, did you sneak in early and eat before we ca?"
Louis slightly bent his fingers, pulling the rib towards himself, and replied with a straight face:
"Who says sneaking, sounds so awful! I dine openly, you guys were just too slow."
"I ca right on ti, but ended up ordering and nearly letting the food go cold."
For the first ti using chopsticks, Alice relied on her excellent control and managed to engage Louis in a martial duel around the cowboy rib.
During the flying chopsticks, if a skilled Nine Swords practitioner were present, they would discern a faint sense of swordsmanship duel between them.
——It even freaking resembles dual-wield!
In the end, Alice slightly won over Louis, successfully snatching the cowboy rib from him.
Only after winning did she find it less thrilling.
"Tsk, no need for concession."
Louis grinned, showing a set of pearly whites:
"I've accomplished my goal."
——He essentially intended to have a chopstick duel with Alice.
Judging by now, his progress has been rapid recently.
Purely in the use of Level One martial skills, he has surpassed Alice.
"So, why did you take so long to co here, what's the situation?"
Grace quietly spoke up as she found the focus on herself:
"I… I didn't dare to co in downstairs."
Louis suddenly recalled: "Next ti, just let the waiter bring you up."
Grace lowered her head further:
"They… they seed busy and there were too many people inside."
Louis didn't mock or criticize but simply said:
"I didn't consider properly; should've found a less crowded place."
Grace vigorously shook her head and said:
"It's alright, Mr. Caesar has helped so much already."
Only then did Louis recall that Grace was from the Dragonbone Prairie.
Which ans she would have spent most of her life on the sparsely populated prairie.
And due to good family protection, her interactions with the outside world were even less.
Previously in the Imperial Capital, her kneeling solely stemd from the urgency to save her father, which made her selectively ignore many stares.
Now recovered, she once again exhibit the alert and timid deanor from when she first t the team.
But upon pondering, sothing felt off:
"It shouldn't be. Grace worrying is understandable, appearing not adept at socializing, but your companion isn't."
Louis ant Alice.
Grace's tension was relatable, but Alice?
Others not feeling pressured by her was a result of Alice being very restrained.
Grace lowered her head, embarrassed to speak.
Alice boldly said:
"I had initially brought her downstairs, directed her to go up and find you first."
