Louis felt a chill run down his spine as the crowd's gazes fixed on him.
For a mont, he couldn't understand why everyone was looking at him.
Suddenly, a beam of light descended from the sky, and Louis sensed a familiar ntal wave land beside him.
It was the Swan.
From Louis's perspective, the Swan's spiritual form now appeared as a twisted star-like body, making it impossible to discern her true appearance from her spiritual form.
But Louis was absolutely certain that the person next to him was the Swan.
The scent she carried was just too familiar.
However, he had no ti to dwell on this, because he noticed that the gazes of the Jade Phoenix Mages around them were becoming sharper.
For a mont, he even wondered if he had done sothing heinous.
He began to suspect that his cover might have been blown.
At this mont, a Legendary Mage sitting in the main seat coughed and said:
"Ladies and gentlen, today we welco two newcors, please restrain your gazes, don't scare them."
Only then did the crowd avert their gazes.
However, Louis observed closely and noticed that quite a few people were still focusing on him and the Swan.
The Swan, on the other hand, was not intimidated at all. She stood up and perford a very ladylike bow:
"Good morning, Mr. Chi."
The Legendary Mage referred to as "Chi" nodded, signaling her to take her seat.
Then, Louis was kicked by Olivia.
Louis: ???
What is she doing?
The person in charge coughed and said:
"I didn't expect there to be a mber in the Jade Phoenix Alliance who shows their true self without any disguise."
Louis's expression stiffened for a mont.
Suddenly realizing, he turned to look at Olivia beside him.
Olivia waved her hand speechlessly, and a water mirror twisted into shape, appearing in front of him.
Louis looked into the water mirror.
The reflection in the water mirror was his Mayer persona wearing a clown mask.
He finally understood why everyone in the room had instantly turned their gaze to him.
Goodness, among the Jade Phoenix Mages known for their cognitive distortion magic, suddenly erged an individual who brazenly showed their true form; it was no wonder they were curious.
Louis instantly understood what was happening.
His true identity carried the advanced profession of the Eternal Blade, while the Jade Phoenix Mage profession was attached to his Mayer persona.
— After all, the Jade Phoenix Mage originally erged from the Sage's Blade.
And the Mayer identity, in essence, was a false identity born from the Mask of Greed twisting the cognition of others.
If traced to its roots, it connected to Greed and the endless abyss behind it.
The nature of this power was so transcendent that the cognitive distortion magic originally effective against the Jade Phoenix Mages could not distort the higher quality "Mayer" mask.
Thinking of this, Louis decided to speak in a lighthearted tone:
"There's nothing strange about it, I understand your concerns; after all, the Jade Phoenix Mages have road the continent for many years, and many evil forces wish to eliminate us."
"But I am a businessman, trust , there are more competitors who want dead compared to those evil forces, whether they know about it or not doesn't really matter."
The crowd looked at this bold Jade Phoenix Mage.
Even though he had concealed half of his true face with a mask, his handso features were still discernible through his eyes.
The locks of hair that fell in front of the mask gave him a composed and formidable presence as he sat quietly and solemnly.
This attire was sothing they had never seen in mainstream fashion.
With a slight smile, Louis nodded to the crowd, as if greeting them.
That smile, warm like a spring breeze, fostered a certain goodwill among the crowd towards this audacious compatriot.
At this mont, the Legendary Mage Chi spoke again:
"Recently, we lost a reliable partner, as you can see, one of the four legendary seats of the Jade Phoenix Alliance is now empty."
"He was the pride of the Ense Empire and our pride too, but our battle against 'that thing' will not end."
"Beyond the Jade Phoenix Seal is our holand, and we cannot retreat even a step."
Mr. Chi pointed his finger at the sowhat bored Swan sitting in the chair:
"She is the latest generation of Jade Phoenix Mage and the continuation of our lost comrade's spirit."
The Swan, although bewildered, straightened her chest upon seeing the warm gazes of the crowd.
"This must be a complint, right?"
She accepted the praise without hesitation.
Chi's gaze turned back to Louis and said:
"I just didn't expect this to be such a lively occasion."
"Even so comrades who had never entered the Erald Dinsion (the original na of the semi-dinsion) showed up this ti."
"Did they hear about the death of our compatriot?"
Louis pondered.
From the current situation, it was clear that the Swan was inheriting the vacant position of the Legendary Mage referred to by Mr. Chi.
This Legendary Mage was from Ense and was likely one of the top-tier combat powers of the Ense Empire.
So the Swan was able to seamlessly complete the appointnt.
However, when Princess Consort Diana handed him the heritage necklace, she explicitly ntioned "another Jade Phoenix Mage heading towards the end."
This ant that, at this particular point in ti, there was another Jade Phoenix Mage in trouble besides the top-tier power from Ense.
After all...
Princess Consort Diana was unaware of the existence of the Mask of Greed, such a buggy ability, in the world.
