"Who are you really?"
Louis quietly watched the mage who was highly respected locally.
Roland Ox rely lifted his head to glance at Louis and said with a smile:
"What answer do you wish to hear from ?"
Louis said:
"I don't care about other matters, there's only one thing... your staying here, is it for sothing that might endanger the Empire?"
Mage Roland shrugged and said:
"Of course not, I'm just an unremarkable mage who wants to go back ho to teach."
Louis shook his head and said:
"Since when could a demigod be called unremarkable?"
Though Louis had only just broken through to the paragon level, his overall qualities were actually at the pinnacle of the paragon level.
With his current level, it's basically impossible for a legend to hide their strength in his presence.
But the fact was, when Louis saw Mage Roland, he couldn't sense any energy fluctuations from him at all.
This extre concealnt either ant he really was just an ordinary person, or...
His power exceeded the range of what Louis could currently comprehend.
In other words... at least a demigod.
Mage Roland chuckled and said:
"Don't be so wary, I'm telling the truth, I have my own mission, but teaching students is truly my heartfelt desire."
Louis gave him a wary glance.
The succubus instincts did not detect any scent of lies from him.
But he still found it quite absurd.
A demigod, dwelling in such a remote corner.
This was very illogical.
Mage Roland got up, opened the window, pointed to the distant mountains, and said calmly:
"There's a cave in the mountains, on the other side of the cave is the enemy, I have to guard this place."
Louis was taken aback and exclaid:
"A spatial rift?"
Mage Roland nodded.
Louis said:
"If that's the case, then I can sowhat understand, I'll arrange for soone to co and clear the spatial rift after a while."
Mage Roland shook his head and said:
"It can't be cleared, the other side of the cave is the noisy void passage."
Louis paused for a mont, frowned, and said:
"Noisy void passage? Then it should be closed sohow, that place is too dangerous."
The noisy void passage, one of the most dangerous places in the outer planes.
The number of planes in the outer planes is actually nurous, but there aren't that many of the most powerful planes.
According to alignnt division, each alignnt has a corresponding powerful plane.
Between alignnts, there's also a transitional plane.
For example, the lawful good alignnt corresponds to the outer plane called Heaven Mountain.
The neutral good alignnt corresponds to the outer plane called Paradise Realm.
The transitional plane between lawful good and neutral good is called Twin Heaven.
A few of the top-tier planes in the outer planes are distributed according to such alignnt, adjacent to each other.
The Divine Kingdoms of deities generally lie within these planes.
If that's not enough to understand the horror of the noisy void passage, let's put it another way.
The noisy void passage, also called Demon Hall.
It's the transitional plane between chaotic evil and chaotic neutral.
The plane represented by chaotic evil is the root of the largest dark forces in the entire Star Continent—
The Abyss.
The four Abyssal Gods reside within the Abyss.
That's why when Louis heard Mage Roland ntion that on the other side of the cave lies the noisy void passage, notorious for its destruction, that he wore such an unpleasant expression.
Roland Ox shook his head and said:
"That cave cannot be closed, the connections with the noisy void passage and the pri material plane have all been severed, leaving only this final cave entrance on the continent."
"The outer plane entrances can never be completely closed."
"This is the rule of the world, if the entrance is completely closed, then the Star Continent will be permanently isolated from other worlds."
"So even if you close this entrance, soon new passages to the noisy void passage will appear on the Star Continent."
"Because the world does not allow itself to be completely sealed."
"If you seal it, who can guarantee that a larger entrance won't appear afterward."
"By that point, it might be even more troubleso."
"The cave in the mountains is small, leaving a demigod to guard it is sufficient."
"If faced with an irresistible enemy, a demigod can completely close an entrance of this size."
Louis shook his head:
"Even the smallest entrance, without the proper ans, is not that easy to close."
Roland said:
"Actually, it's quite easy to close, just have the demigod shove their demi-plane into it."
Louis clicked his tongue.
Truly worthy of the martial and powerful Ense Empire.
Even the civilian strong ones have this attitude.
This reminded him of the Emperor.
The Emperor made the sa choice.
The largest Gate of the Abyss on the continent, the reason it's still controlled to this day, is because the Emperor used his own domain to block the gate.
Unexpectedly, in such a remote village, there are other demigods doing the sa thing.
"What you say is very strange... as if you've been guarding here for many years."
Roland Ox did not speak.
Louis raised an eyebrow.
"Surely you haven't truly been guarding here for many years?"
"We have," Roland Ox said calmly, "Our line of mages has always guarded this place."
Louis didn't argue; being able to cultivate a demigod mage is certainly no simple role.
Roland Ox's statent didn't surprise him.
So he said:
"How long has your line been guarding here?"
Roland glanced at him:
"Not for long."
But the next sentence truly stunned Louis.
"Our history is short, rely five thousand years."
