Chapter 1347: Chapter 589: Why Didn’t You Say You Could Fight Like This Sooner?

The morgue was eerily quiet, everyone slowed their breathing, terrified of catching the attention of the living corpse man, leaving only the sound of its chewing as it devoured Brother Kun.

To be honest, hearing such noises in a place like this was spine-chilling.

Mountain Chicken, Durian-Too-Expensive, a fan of attack speed shoes, and raccoon-style crispy noodles, had all been friends with Brother Kun for years. Even the newest addition, Mountain Chicken, had known him for five years. Yet now, they were frozen in place, not daring to rescue Brother Kun.

They simply couldn’t take the risk.

“It didn’t cry for help earlier!”

Lin Baici explained.

“Huh… what do you an?”

Batugel looked confused.

“Yeah, yeah, earlier there were only knocking sounds, no cries for help!”

Big Sweet Sister, quick to process, suddenly had an epiphany, imdiately followed by admiration for Big Cousin’s keen observation. She resolved to stick close to him no matter what happened.

That way, the odds of survival were higher.

Tang Keke and Peanut Butter also understood now.

“Sigh, if he’d just listened to you, he wouldn’t have died!”

Tang Keke grumbled, thinking Brother Kun had been too hasty; had he waited, none of this would’ve happened.

“Big Cousin, what should we do now?”

In the silence of the morgue, Lin Baici’s quiet words were heard clearly, prompting everyone to ask him anxiously for advice.

“What else is there to do? Kill it.”

Lin Baici observed the living corpse, noting that its strength while eating human flesh seed to far surpass an ordinary person’s.

“Huh? But isn’t it already dead?”

“Smash its head? Or dismber it? Make it incapable of moving?”

“Aren’t you guys supposed to be n? Go kill the damn thing!”

The group muttered amongst themselves, but no one dared to act.

Fear gripped everyone!

The living corpse man, munching on Brother Kun like Sun Wukong squandering peaches in the Immortal Peach Garden, took several bites before finally lifting his gaze, scanning the group, then pushed Brother Kun away.

It was clear that he wanted to try sothing fresher—soone else.

Bang!

Brother Kun’s corpse dropped to the floor like a dead fish.

The living corpse man steadied himself by gripping the edge of the cold storage cabinet before staggering forward. Being dead, his movents were stiff, so his descent was unsteady.

Thud!

The living corpse man fell to the ground, and from beneath his rotting flesh, squirming white maggots spilled out in a swish, scattering into a visible layer.

Blegh! Blegh!

The revolting scene made several people vomit again.

The living corpse man stood up, extending his arms with a guttural growl, then sprinted towards Durian-Too-Expensive.

The person next to him imdiately dodged to the side.

“Holy shit! Why ?”

Durian-Too-Expensive also hurriedly ran, diving into the crowd.

“What are you doing? Get away from here!”

“That thing is chasing you; stay away from us!”

“Damn it, didn’t you hear us telling you not to co here?”

The group argued, evidently angry.

Faced with a matter of life and death, Durian-Too-Expensive couldn’t care less about dignity, squeezing into the crowd without hesitation. Besides, this guy had a particularly dark heart—he deliberately ran towards the won, thinking they were weaker and slower, less likely to outrun him.

“Big Cousin, move, quickly!”

Tang Keke and Peanut Butter each grabbed Lin Baici’s arm, trying to pull him away from the living corpse man.

“Can you two stop tugging at ?”

Lin Baici was exasperated. Just a casual swing of his arm with his strength could send these two girls flying, but doing so might injure them.

In the midst of rule pollution, even minor injuries lowered the chances of survival.

“Bro, aren’t you supposed to be tough? Just take care of this living corpse man!”

“Co on, Bro, it’s up to you now!”

“Kill it and you’ll be our hero!”

The crowd yelled at Batugel. Earlier, he punched Zheng Yu Huang, a man with significant muscle mass, clean out cold—clearly showing he was a fierce contender—and even challenged Big Cousin. Undoubtedly, he was a tough character.

“Hero my ass!”

Batugel took off, his thick legs charging into the crowd.

Fight the monster?

Not a chance.

If I die, these people probably won’t even burn ten yuan worth of joss paper.

Seeing Batugel refuse to make a move, his blatant display of selfishness enraged everyone.

The living corpse man wasn’t fast, but fear kept everyone from approaching. The scene in the morgue resembled a grotesque ga of tag.

All twenty-plus people scrambled to dodge.

A few rushed to the door, banging on it desperately.

“It won’t open!”

“Find the key, quickly!”

“There’s no ti to find the key—just smash it!”

The living corpse man completed half a circle before heading toward the door, only to suddenly notice a man standing a short distance away. It didn’t hesitate, breaking into a jog toward him.

“Big Cousin, it’s coming!”

Tang Keke’s voice rose a pitch with fear.

Peanut Butter watched the rotting, foul-slling living corpse man sprinting closer, and from head to toe, a chill washed over her entire body. Every hair stood upright as she shivered involuntarily.

She released Lin Baici and ran away.

Tang Keke, seeing this, let go of Lin Baici as well.

Su Manni hesitated but noticed Big Sweet Sister staying put.

“Aren’t you running?”

Lin Baici smiled and asked.

“It’s… it’s your calm deanor that gave the courage to stay here!”

Big Sweet Sister’s voice trembled, though she still offered flattering words.

Su Manni, hearing this, finally understood why Big Sweet Sister had thrived on the seafood platform for nearly a decade—her impeccable people skills left no room for reproach.

“Then don’t stand behind ; stand next to !”

Lin Baici teased.

“…”

Big Sweet Sister hesitated.

Should she gamble?

Su Manni considered stepping up beside Lin Baici to make her presence known, but as she watched the living corpse man charge forward, her courage lted away like ice in the sun.
