“Now let’s draw so blood!”
The nurse opened a small box with a red cross on it, quickly unwrapping packaging and pulling out a disposable syringe.
Without hesitation, Lin Baici extended his arm.
The nurse tied a strap onto his arm, bypassing any disinfectant swabs, and plunged the syringe straight into a blood vessel at the crook of his arm, starting the process.
Inside, Lin Baici cursed furiously, yet his face was still beaming like sunshine in spring, bright and warm: “Your technique is incredible—I can’t even feel a thing!”
“I must tell the head nurse—she should always let you draw my blood.”
The nurse, clearly pleased, initially planned to draw five vials of blood. But now, after just one, she withdrew the syringe and casually handed Lin Baici a disinfectant swab.
“Press it yourself!”
After strapping a blue plastic wristband around Lin Baici’s left wrist, the admission procedures were officially complete: “Go wait over there!”

The nurse explained.

Thinking his question was reasonable, Zheng Yu Huang voiced his doubt, which imdiately annoyed the nurse.
“Are you questioning my professional expertise now?”
Her words barely finished before the nurse stabbed the thermoter straight at Zheng Yu Huang’s face.
She moved too quickly for Zheng Yu Huang to dodge.
Thud!
The thermoter pierced through Zheng Yu Huang’s cheek.
“Agh!”
Zheng Yu Huang scread, stumbling backward.
“Don’t retreat—apologize!”
Lin Baici reminded him.
Stopping in his tracks, Zheng Yu Huang thought of Elder Zhou’s fate. If he backed away, he might end up with a broken leg and a spot in the operating room.
“I’m sorry!”

The nurse scoffed.
With the blood pressure cuff strapped on, the nurse pressed a button.
