Chapter 1391: Chapter 602 Luck Goddess Did Not Arrive!

The two nurses led Lin Baici and the other two to the second-floor outpatient departnt via the elevator.

Through the bright windows, they could already see the hospital’s main entrance. In fact, with Lin Baici’s physical condition, he could completely break through the glass and escape from here.

But Lin Baici didn’t act. He kept feeling that the rules contaminated by the God personally wouldn’t be so easily purified.

Besides, even if he escaped, what about Big Sweet Sister and Tang Keke?

The two nurses stopped in front of a clinic with a sign that read “Respiratory Departnt.”

“Wait here. When your na is called, go in!”

There were benches in the corridor for patients to rest.

Big Sweet Sister and Tang Keke were visibly tense.

Within a few minutes, a call ca from inside.

“Song Tian!”

It was a male doctor.

Song Tian shuddered.

“Don’t worry, I’ll go in with you!”

Lin Baici patted Big Sweet Sister on the shoulder.

“Thank you!”

Big Sweet Sister was overwheld with emotion. She knew that stepping into this clinic ant encountering danger, yet Lin Baici still risked himself for her.

“No need to be so formal.”

Lin Baici gestured for Big Sweet Sister to open the door.

Song Tian took a deep breath and pushed the door open.

Inside were two desks, each with a computer and so dical records, but currently, there was only one young doctor, around thirty years old.

The doctor was holding a mouse, examining an ultrasound image. When he caught sight of the two entering, he frowned and stared at Lin Baici.

“I called Song Tian. What are you doing here?”

The doctor questioned.

“I’m her family mber!”

Lin Baici explained.

“Family mbers wait outside!”

The doctor’s temper wasn’t great.

Hearing this, Song Tian imdiately tensed up.

“She’s deaf and mute, and her communication skills aren’t accurate. I’m worried there might be misunderstandings.”

Lin Baici decided against pretending to be a nurse in the hospital by putting on a uniform and asking for special consideration. He knew that reasoning wouldn’t likely work.

“Oh!”

The doctor didn’t insist on Lin Baici leaving and turned to Song Tian. “What symptoms are you experiencing?”

Song Tian had no idea what to say and looked at Lin Baici. At the sa ti, she thought to herself, this guy is incredibly quick-witted.

“She just has a bit of a cough now and then!”

Lin Baici downplayed the symptoms as much as possible to minimize the extent of the examination.

“Any phlegm?”

The doctor asked while taking out a flashlight. “Open your mouth. Let check your tonsils!”

Song Tian shook her head.

Lin Baici scanned the room. When his eyes landed on a potted devil’s ivy on the windowsill, his pupils contracted sharply.

The devil’s ivy was fine—but the flowerpot holding it was made from a human head.

The skull had been shaved flat, the brain matter hollowed out, replaced with soil, and now hosting a thriving devil’s ivy plant.

Lin Baici recognized the head—it belonged to Su Manni’s forr classmate from the directing departnt. Her na was Mo Mo.

He didn’t expect her to have t her end here.

“I roughly understand your condition. You need a blood test and a CT scan.”

The doctor ordered and handed Song Tian the dical forms.

“Dr. Miao, the director is looking for you!”

Suddenly, a nurse’s voice ca from the corridor.

Dr. Miao imdiately frowned, his expression filled with disdain. “Understood!”

“You two wait here for a mont!”

Dr. Miao left, muttering to himself under his breath.

“Baici!”

Song Tian was riddled with anxiety. If it ca down to undergoing these tests, she’d absolutely be tornted to death.

“Stay calm!”

Lin Baici imdiately rushed to Dr. Miao’s desk, pulling open drawers and rummaging through them.

Song Tian’s nerves instantly tightened. Then, she took the initiative to run to the door to stand watch.

She understood her own limitations—she knew that even if she stayed and searched with Lin Baici, there was a high chance she’d fail to find anything. Instead of risking being caught by the returning doctor, it was better to guard the door.

At the very least, this would ensure Lin Baici’s safety.

Big Sweet Sister’s action made Lin Baici feel a bit gratified. If she had stayed to search with him, he wouldn’t have said anything but wouldn’t have been fully committed to saving her if she got in trouble.

A USB drive, nail clipper, a few pens, a diary…

Lin Baici quickly grabbed the diary and began flipping through it.

Swish!

A photograph dropped out.

It was a group photo of doctors all wearing white coats. Dr. Miao was in the corner, while standing at the center was an elderly, gray-haired doctor.

However, the elderly doctor’s face had been crossed out with a ballpoint pen!

Lin Baici raised an eyebrow. This was getting interesting. He continued reading.

“Work, work, work. Every day, it’s just work. I need a break!”

“When can I finally get a permanent position? I’ve had enough!”

“He’s just using us as beasts of burden!”

The diary was filled with Dr. Miao’s complaints and grievances. While he didn’t na anyone directly, based on the crossed-out photo and his earlier disdain for the director’s summons, Lin Baici pieced things together.

“Baici, he’s coming back!”

Song Tian quickly alerted him and returned to her seat.

Lin Baici put everything back in place and stood behind Song Tian.

Dr. Miao returned. “Go for your tests. Quickly!”

“Doctor, are you troubled by anything lately?”

Lin Baici interjected.

Dr. Miao glanced at him but didn’t respond.

“I can help you resolve it!”

Lin Baici persisted.

“And how would you help ?”

Dr. Miao picked up his thermos of goji berry tea, took a sip, and smiled faintly as he asked.

“I could file a complaint against that person—or even kill them. Given the current tension between doctors and patients, wouldn’t such an act seem perfectly reasonable?”

Lin Baici studied Dr. Miao’s expression.

Sure enough, upon hearing this, a glimr of excitent appeared in his eyes.

Seeing this, Song Tian sensed an opportunity and imdiately doubled down. “I can take action. Don’t let my appearance fool you—I can be terrifying when I get angry!”
