Jiang Ge went to get so money.

"I’ll go too!"

The Goryeo woman felt she should contribute sothing, otherwise they might not take her.

Gu Qingqiu remained noncommittal.

Everyone had space forbidden items, containing so gold for backup, but using these as gifts would probably make them seem crazy.

After waiting for more than a quarter of an hour, Jiang Ge returned and handed a stack of Hong Kong dollars to Gu Qingqiu: "More than ten thousand yuan, is it enough?"

Gu Qingqiu took the money and casually instructed: "Open the door!"

"I’ll do it!"

The cowgirl ran over, leaped over the gate, and opened the door from inside within a few seconds.

Not a sound was made.

Gu Qingqiu went in, walked to the security room, and pushed the door open.

Inside was a middle-aged man in his thirties, slightly bald, the school’s gatekeeper and security guard.

He was engrossed in watching a horror movie and was startled when he heard the door open.

"Who are you?"

The security guard shouted, reaching for the electric baton on the table.

Lin Baici frowned, rubbed his nose, glanced at the security guard’s big feet in flip-flops, then opened the window.

The air in the room wasn’t good.

"I want to ask you sothing!"

Gu Qingqiu tossed a thousand yuan on the table: "Answer to my satisfaction, and it’s yours!"

The security guard glanced at the money, his anger significantly diminished: "Who knows what you want to ask?"

"What counts as satisfactory?"

Money makes the mare go, Gu Qingqiu spending money imdiately improved the guard’s attitude.

Gu Qingqiu didn’t waste words, taking out three photos, showing them to the guard: "Do you recognize this child?"

"..."

The guard remained silent. He didn’t recognize, but saying so would probably an he won’t get the money.

"Do you know all the security guards who worked here before?"

Gu Qingqiu wasn’t surprised. This guard, in his thirties, probably hadn’t worked here when the child went missing: "Write down their addresses!"

The guard didn’t move.

"If you don’t obey, not only will you not get the money, you won’t keep your life!"

The Goryeo woman threatened.

"I’ll write! I’ll write!"

The guard found a piece of paper, wrote five nas with their ho addresses, two of which didn’t have phone numbers.

"Who worked here the longest? The most diligently?"

Gu Qingqiu inquired.

"Cao Yingrong!"

The guard answered every question, mainly because the Goryeo woman was fierce, and a tall, intimidating black man had also co in.

Gu Qingqiu asked a few more questions, satisfied, placed another thousand yuan on the table.

Before leaving, she threatened the guard: "Don’t call these people, if you notify them, you’ll be in big trouble!"

"I won’t!"

Once they left, the guard imdiately grabbed the money on the table, counted it carefully, and then rembered to check the gate.

...

Forty minutes later, Jiang Ge drove to an old residential area.

"Do you really have to follow us?"

Xia Hongyao expressed disgust; Hoffman had secretly followed them, even parked his car right next to theirs.

After hearing Lin Baici’s deduction, Hoffman knew he couldn’t find the missing child faster than these two.

He had no choice but to follow them.

Hoffman didn’t argue, at least maintaining a bit of a boss deanor.

Cao Yingrong lived on the seventeenth floor.

The stairs were quite cramped, filled with clutter, and the elevator creaked as it rose, making everyone nervous.

After exiting the elevator, they found room 1702. Without needing Gu Qingqiu’s instruction, Jiang Ge knocked on the door.

"What’s your business?"

An elderly voice ca from inside. After checking these people through the peephole, he cautiously didn’t open the door.

"We want to inquire about a missing person’s case!"

Gu Qingqiu asked, "More than twenty years ago, a child nad ’Xiao Tang’ disappeared. Do you rember?"

"I rember!"

At Guantang Primary School, during Cao Yingrong’s tenure as a security guard, two children went missing; he rembered it very well.

"Can we talk inside?"

Gu Qingqiu’s voice was gentle: "Don’t worry, you won’t be busy for nothing!"

Cao Yingrong hesitated but knowing he couldn’t avoid it, he opened the door and invited everyone inside.

Judging by the ho decor and several voices coming from the bedroom, Xia Hongyao deduced the family lived frugally.

Gu Qingqiu paved the way with money, directly placing ten thousand yuan on the table: "Can you talk about that child’s situation?"

"It had nothing to do with our school. The child was lost after school one afternoon at a market in Guantang!"

Cao Yingrong recounted: "His grandma would occasionally cause a scene at the school, insisting on fetching her grandson, turning insane!"

"Sigh!"

Cao Yingrong sighed: "The school compensated their family sowhat!"

After asking a few trivial questions, Gu Qingqiu continued: "Do you know who has a deeper understanding of this case?"

"It should be a policeman nad Cai Yonghao; he ca to the school several tis to investigate!"

Cao Yingrong looked suspiciously at these people, males and females, different nationalities, making it hard to discern their origins.

After asking a few more questions to ensure nothing was missed, Gu Qingqiu left a pile of money and bade farewell.

The next destination, Jiang Ge knew without needing Gu Qingqiu to say.

He drove everyone straight to Guantang Police Station, to look into information on Cai Yonghao.

...

Cai Yonghao retired three years ago.

They then went to his house.

On hearing their intention, Cai Yonghao was a bit surprised: "This missing person case is twenty-seven years old. Back then, there were no surveillance caras. Even if there were clues at the ti, there’s no way you can find it now!"
