507: Chapter 233: Dig Out the Bird’s Eggs!_1 507: Chapter 233: Dig Out the Bird’s Eggs!_1 Lin Baici fell from the sky, and the strong air currents hit his face, filling his ears and nearly blinding him.

His clothes rustled loudly.

Below, Gu Qingqiu was falling at a high speed, rapidly becoming a small dot.

“Is this feather of any use at all?

There’s no sign of slowing down, is there?”

Lin Baici’s brow furrowed slightly, but his mind remained fairly calm, since he had jumped based on the Eater God’s review, he was ninety percent confident, but Gu Qingqiu was not.

“Will she scream in fright?”

Lin Baici was curious and then glanced upward, Xia Hongyao and Hua Yue Yu had also jumped down.

Soon, a vast expanse of gray land appeared in sight, swiftly zooming in, and the details of the scenery gradually beca clear.

This was a huge forest in the midst of the transition between late fall and early winter.

Most of the leaves on the trees had already turned yellow, and a gust of wind would cause many to fall.

On the ground, leaves were spread out like the bodies of soldiers who had fallen in battle, layered upon one another, and emitted an unpleasant odor of decay.

Two hundred ters!

One hundred ters!

Fifty ters!

Lin Baici could clearly see the insects crawling on the ground, but still, there was no sign of him slowing down, he was plumting to the ground like a cot with force.

Whoosh!

Just as Lin Baici was about a ter above the ground, his body suddenly stopped, the inertia he felt in that instant made his insides churn as if they were about to be thrown out.

Bang!

Lin Baici landed in the thick layer of fallen leaves, the dampness of the dew-soaked leaves against his skin felt like octopus tentacles crawling over, terribly uncomfortable.

“Gu Qingqiu!”

Lin Baici got up and ran towards where the crazy woman had fallen.

“I’m fine!”

Gu Qingqiu curled up into a ball, her hands hugging her knees tightly, her whole body trembling.

She had thought she was going to die just monts ago, and now she was alive again, the feeling was truly exhilarating, especially that pause right before the end, the tearing pain and the joy of survival after a catastrophe intertwined into an indescribable experience.

If only she could do it all over again!

Hua Yue Yu, high above, was relieved to see that Lin Baici hadn’t died from the fall, knowing she would survive too, but then ca that sudden pulling sensation as the fall stopped, the feeling of her brains almost being shaken out made her scream in agony, nearly fainting.

Bang!

Xia Hongyao landed, flipped to her feet and imdiately began running towards Hua Yue Yu, alert and scanning the surroundings.

It had to be said that Xia Hongyao’s physical capabilities were formidable, almost as if she were unscathed.

Soon, the four people regrouped.

“The others didn’t jump!”

Lin Baici looked up at the sky but saw no one.

“Forget them for now, what do we do?”

Hua Yue Yu crossed her arms and rubbed her arms up and down, the forest was cold, breath turning white, and even more unsettling were the surrounding trees with their strange shapes, losing many leaves, the remaining branches twisted and contorted, making them look like emaciated monsters.

“Let’s look for bird eggs!”

Lin Baici looked around and could see nests built by mud and twigs on so branches, large ones comparable to the tires of a small car, small ones about the size of a soccer ball.

“Be careful!”

Lin Baici took out his Bronze Sword, the silence was terrifying, not even a chirp or tweet disturbed the air, it was like a forest graveyard about to die.

Bang!

Little Fairy fell to the ground, curled up in discomfort.

Xia Hongyao and Hua Yue Yu ran over to help her up.

“You all keep watch, I’m going to climb up and have a look!”

Lin Baici found a big tree with a nest and ran over to it.

“Look at what?”

Gu Qingqiu didn’t understand; if he wanted to observe the terrain from a height, she had already done so from the air.

This forest was too vast, it would take at least half a month to walk out of it on foot, so there must be another key location.

“Is Lin Bai speculating that the view from the tree after landing will be different from what we saw before?”

Hua Yue Yu analyzed.

“It’s possible!”

Gu Qingqiu stared at Lin Baici.

Lin Baici’s physical condition was superb, and he climbed the tree in no ti, first standing on the treetop, looking around.

Although the big trees had lost their leaves, their many branches still blocked his view.

Lin Baici ca down to the side of a nest the size of a tire.

Inside, lined with feathers and so dry grass, these materials were very clean, indicating an unused nest; otherwise, there would certainly be feces or signs of previous nesting by birds.

Lin Baici jumped down from the big tree and ran ten ters or so before climbing another.

In the nest, there was a little bird the size of a fist without feathers, sound asleep, clearly having hatched not long ago.

Lin Baici didn’t disturb it, he jumped down.

The Eater God spoke of taking bird eggs, not little birds.

Bang!

Zeng Guoxue fell to the ground and got up after a dozen seconds, running towards Little Fairy, “Qin Qin, are you all right?”

“Please, stop worrying about !”

Little Fairy pleaded.

Thump!

Thump!

Thump!

People began to fall, crashing into the fallen leaves.

So survived, while others were smashed into a pulp upon impact, the latter being those without feathers.

Gu Qingqiu built a makeshift shelter with her hands and looked up, “It’s started!”

Many of the smarter ones planned to wait, but those without feathers didn’t want to wait.

Once Lin Baici left, with no one to suppress the miscreants, these people imdiately began to snatch feathers.

Especially the group in jackets, they attacked in a pack.

Everyone had no choice but to jump down and take the risk.

So chaos ensued above, as people began dropping like dumplings.

“Wuu wuu wuu!”

Little Fairy burst into tears; she saw soone getting smashed into a pool of flesh, feeling both disgusted and scared, as well as sad and heartbroken, because these were her fans.

If they hadn’t co to her fan eting, they wouldn’t have encountered such danger.

The fans who fell first mostly had feathers, and except for the painful mont they hit the ground, it was not fatal or crippling.

But a few minutes later, as more people fell, they began to explode upon impact like human fireworks, even with the thick layer of fallen leaves cushioning their fall, turning into pulps as if crushed by the tires of a dump truck laden with tomatoes.

However, those who survived had gotten used to it and didn’t care about the life or death of these people, instead clustering around Lin Baici.

“God Lin, what do we do next?”

Everyone eagerly looked at Lin Baici because his judgnt was correct; jumping down could save your life.

“First, we’ll gather bird eggs to prepare so food!”

Lin Baici made up an excuse, otherwise he couldn’t explain why the ‘bird eggs’ were key to passing the level.

Quite a few people dispersed, planning to get so bird eggs.

They had seen from above that the forest was vast, and they knew it would take many days to get out.

Without food, they certainly couldn’t make it.

“What about at night?

I think it’s going to cool down!”

“Yeah, how are we going to stay warm?

This weather could freeze a person to death!”

“Who has an extra lighter to lend ?”

The mood among the group was grim.

By this point, the shock and fear from those who had fallen to their deaths were put aside.

If they didn’t start finding ways to save themselves, they would soon be dead too.

Lin Baici roughly counted, out of nearly four hundred fans, just over one hundred and fifty survived.

The majority of the audience that enjoyed watching streams on Shark Station were young people.

As long as they weren’t acrophobic and weren’t terribly unlucky, they could survive by grabbing feathers early when the rule pollution started.

Many of these were survivors who had obtained feathers within the first five rounds.

Lin Baici’s Black Tripod Bowl had a large granary, with enough supplies to feed and clothe these people for a month, but he only had ten tents.

“I’ll go get so bird eggs!”

Hua Yue Yu knew Lin Baici had plenty of food, but in such a dire situation, one could never have too much to eat.

“Go ahead!”

Lin Baici did not stop her because he did not know the specific aning behind the Eater God’s instruction to ‘gather bird eggs’, or what use the eggs could have.

But it was definitely not for eating.

Lin Baici took off his coat and put on the Bodhi ssenger’s Cassock, tucking the hem into his trousers before putting his coat back on.

Hua Yue Yu was small and nimble.

She quickly climbed a tree and reached a nest.

There were eggs, two of them.

Larger than quail eggs but smaller than chicken eggs, stuffing one in one’s mouth would be a bit of a struggle.

The eggshells were gray, similar to cent powder, with so red spots on them.

Hua Yue Yu reached out, took the eggs, and put them in her backpack.

Just as she was about to slide down from the tree, she suddenly felt a large shadow envelop her from above.

Having survived nurous visits to God’s Ruins and escaped many rule-polluted situations, she didn’t foolishly look up to see what it was, nor did she think it was the shadow of a cloud.

Instead, she slid down the tree at high speed.

She had intended to protect her backpack to avoid breaking the eggs, but now she had no choice.

Survival was the priority.

As expected, a second later, screams from Lin Baici and Xia Hongyao filled the air.

“Yue Yu, be careful!”

“Run!”

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

A flock of giant birds as large as yaks appeared in the sky.

Seeing other creatures near their nests, they swooped down like cannonballs, rapidly descending to protect their eggs.

Screech!

Screech!

The giant birds scread, trying to frighten off the intruders.

Thud!

Hua Yue Yu fell to the ground, and just as a giant bird’s sharp beak was about to pierce her head, a stone flew quickly and struck the bird in the eye.

Thud!

The impact made the giant bird’s head jerk to the side.

The next second, a Bronze Sword flew in, piercing its chest.

Ssshh!

Blood dripped everywhere, and so intestines were pulled out by the sword handle, dragging along the ground.

Screech!

The giant bird cried out, astonishingly not dead right away, but continued to struggle and pursue Hua Yue Yu.

“Help!”

The young man who had previously ntioned giving Hua Yue Yu a reward in the form of an airplane Bro fell from the tree.

Just as he got up, a sowhat bald giant bird landed, its sharp talons pinned him down, and its beak pecked at his head.

Crack!

Airplane Bro’s skull could not resist the bird’s sharp beak and cracked open, spilling out brain tissue and blood, killing him instantly.
