Capítulo 1033: Chapter 70: Mother
“Boohoo…”
Fisher sneaked a glance at Tangze Asuka, who was covering her face, head down, weeping continuously. Through the corners of his eyes, he saw the tears flowing continuously from her fingers, and he was slightly taken aback, clearly surprised at how much Tangze Asuka was crying.
Fisher seed a bit bewildered and looked up towards Mikhail and Hooked Kiss, who were sitting behind Tangze Asuka resting, apparently seeking help. Mikhail, with an “it’s none of my business” attitude, turned away to find a place to rest and soon disappeared behind the screen; Hooked Kiss, however, remained seated, watching Fisher alertly, making Fisher feel as if he were being guarded against like a thief, sowhat inexplicably.
“…What happened, Tangze?”
Having found no help, Fisher reluctantly stepped forward himself, taking the initiative to ask.
“I… boohoo, I’m sorry… I…”
But the response Fisher got was still indistinct sobbing. Fisher looked down and saw her raise her head, but her tearful crying left her unable to speak; every ti she tried to open her mouth, a larger sob would replace her voice.
The pink around her eyes gradually spread until it covered her entire delicate face. Her long, wet eyelashes were like leaves in the early morning, covered with lingering dew, casting a watery shimr in her eyes below.
Being stared at like this while crying, Tangze Asuka seed a little embarrassed. She wiped her tears and lowered her head, the pink on her face growing deeper.
Fisher made no superfluous moves, only leading her to sit on a nearby chair. Then, standing silently in place, he waited for her to slowly calm down, and so, within her cries, the hall gradually moved towards tranquility. A few minutes later, only her sporadic sobs and warm breaths echoed faintly in the hall.
Seeing no better signs, Hooked Kiss’s eyes flashed slightly, as if he saw the intense turmoil within her. He gradually realized an issue with Tangze Asuka: once her emotions had a noticeable shift, she couldn’t stop at all and needed a long, long ti to calm down.
It was the sa earlier in the Holy Sanctuary Cage, but at that ti, the intense stimuli could be explained by crossing over. But just now, had she experienced any stimuli?
Without a word, Hooked Kiss reached out his hands, using invisible threads that only he could see to restrict her emotional outburst. After finishing, he gestured for Fisher to co over and quietly said,
“I’ve made Little Tangze’s spirit a bit sluggish, but this can’t always be the solution… I wasn’t paying attention to her just now. What happened to her? Why was she crying so much? Was it because of that Rat Woman earlier? Does she feel sorry for them? That shouldn’t be…”
“…”
Fisher remained silent for a mont, looking at Tangze Asuka sitting on the chair, still sobbing even after Hooked Kiss had diminished her ntal strength. After thinking for a mont, he shook his head and said,
“It’s not out of pity. It’s probably out of envy.”
“Envy? The Rat Woman?”
Fisher kept looking at the tear-covered face of Tangze Asuka, suddenly recalling the words she had said to him that night in the Holy Sanctuary Cage,
“No, it’s the child cradled in the Rat Woman’s arms that she envies. Tangze told before that she lived with her mother since childhood until after her mother died, she started living with her father. But her mother wasn’t good to her. Most likely, seeing the Rat Woman’s actions reminded her of her mother, didn’t it?”
Hooked Kiss opened his mouth, taking a long ti to barely recall the conversation Fisher had with Tangze Asuka that night. He didn’t seem to expect Fisher to delicately find the connection within. Squinting, he turned to Fisher and asked,
“How do you know so much?”
Fisher turned his head towards Hooked Kiss with a blank expression, replying,
“Because I have a good mory.”
“…”
Hooked Kiss’s healing was almost imdiately effective. Tangze Asuka, who was sobbing into her hands, quickly cald down. Only after the hall had gradually quieted down did she pitifully wipe her eyes and raise her head.
Her eyes were sowhat swollen. Looking at the two people far away who hadn’t disturbed her, she felt slightly embarrassed,
“Sorry, Mr. Fischer, Mr. Hooked Kiss…”
Tangze Asuka apologized again.
“It’s okay.”
Fisher simply replied, but Hooked Kiss asked another question,
“Did you just think of sothing, Little Tangze?”
“Sigh… yes. But I just seed to see sothing, I seed to see that mother and child died, thrown down from a tree… then… then…”
Tangze Asuka, feeling a sense of anguish, covered her eyes again, not just because of the tragic scene of the Rat Woman and her child’s death but also recalling her own life with her mother.
Tangze Asuka still rembers, in their house in Tokyo, her mother left her in the vast house to attend various parties, drink, and then forget about her when she returned from school. Having nothing to eat, she waited at ho for her mother to return. But it wasn’t until very late, late enough she couldn’t rember how late, that her mother ca back with another uncle she didn’t know.
She nonchalantly gave her several hundred yen, telling her to go to the convenience store to buy sothing to eat. And so, she took the money to the convenience store, bought a bread, and ate slowly before returning ho, because if she went back early, she would see her mother and the unfamiliar uncle together.
