As the "Volunteer Explorer," Emhardt silently moved through the woods, sowhat bored as he glanced around at the environnt, but nothing seed to pique his interest.
As a relic, Emhardt didn’t actually need sleep. For him, sleep was more like an option to "skip over" a period of ti, allowing his spirit to be more refreshed, but it was entirely unnecessary.
Emhardt was a true coward; unprotected sleep made him feel very insecure, so most of the ti, he didn’t need sleep, only doing so when traveling with Fisher.
Thus, nights felt particularly long and boring when Fisher wasn’t around.
But who could bla the Dragon Queen for returning to his side, who knows how long the intense encounter between the two will last, he could return a bit later.
What should I do?
As Emhardt flew, he pondered, even considering collapsing in so unknown corner until daylight.
He hesitated between the woods. At that mont, he detected a scent that only he seed to notice. His single eye widened slightly, almost as if the intangible sll led him by the nose, and he involuntarily turned the cover of his book in that direction...
"Hmm, this sll... Could there be sothing valuable in such a remote wilderness?"
He thought for a mont, then flew in that direction. It wasn’t long before he saw a faint glow in the dense forest, casting a warm hue over the surrounding dark woods.
Emhardt cautiously moved behind each tree trunk, using them as cover, slowly advancing toward the light, soon seeing the scene near the fire.
It turned out there was a bonfire surrounded by a few figures of different races and attire. Judging by their clothes and weapons, they seed to be a patrol from the Red Dragon Court, most likely a night watch team.
Leading them was a yellow Dragon-man sitting beside a large rock, wearing complete uniford linen clothing. A massive sword lay beside him, and he was smilingly carving sothing into the stone with a dagger.
"Burr, what are you carving?"
Emhardt blinked and quickly realized that the thing emitting the enticing sll was what the yellow Dragon-man was engraving on the rock.
That was...
Hearing another Werewolf Species mber behind him inquiring with a musket in hand, the yellow Dragon-man laughed heartily and replied,
"It’s ’Dragon Song,’ just recording a bit."
"Dragon Song, what’s that? I’ve never heard of it."
"My wife told it’s a very ancient art form among the Dragon-man Species. I hadn’t heard of it before; I only learned about it from my wife and the Queen Mother."
"What’s it about? Let hear it."
Beside the Werewolf Species, a long-haired Human woman who seed not to have combed her hair for a long ti, smiled gently, coaxing the Dragon-man nad "Burr."
"Hey, what I’m inscribing with Dragon Song are thoughts from my heart, nothing worth ntioning..."
"Oh please, Sister-in-law Mier is almost having her third child, could it be related to that?"
The Werewolf grinned as he approached, looking at the emblem on the stone, mirroring the intricacies of Human-engraved magic, and said.
"Hey, it’s nothing, don’t tease ..."
Emhardt, hiding behind a tree, fixed his gaze on the Dragon Song emitting a faint glow on the stone, discovering a clue indeed.
Previously, when he was wandering the South Continent, the Dragon Songs he saw were left by ancient Dragon-man species. Even though he could comprehend so of the content, he just saw it as a form of poetry carved on walls, unable to link it with the concept of a "Soul Song."
Until now, with a Dragon-man engraving a Dragon Song, he imdiately recalled the magic Fisher once inscribed.
It turns out, these Dragon-man species were using the soul energy contained within their Dragon Horns to express their thoughts!
Squinting, Emhardt peeked over, seeing the stone’s intricate glowing words twisting slightly, seemingly floating into heated beams before his eyes.
Simultaneously, a voice, as if from the Dragon-man Burr, unexpectedly resonated in his ear.
"Fight, fight, fight!"
The scene before Emhardt abruptly shifted, forming two distinct black and white silhouettes. One had unique dual horns and a long tail, reminding Emhardt instantly of Fisher’s friend Rafael!
Who was the other?
Emhardt couldn’t see clearly. It seed obscured by heavy, gold-reflecting armor cloaking the figure’s features, but the armor’s outline suggested she was a woman.
"A friendship as golden as gold, fighting for freedom; a friendship as fiery as flas, overcoming challenges together!"
The vision constantly shifted, and Emhardt saw the two won confronting diverse challenges together, their bond radiating sparkling golden light, leading nurous banners of the Dragon Court, singing bravely, as if transforming into a true giant dragon soaring into the sky.
