"Chaos has set its sights on him? What is chaos, is it dangerous?"
"...I already told you, don’t interrupt while I’m speaking, you trivial Phoenix. Listen to first, I have sothing important to tell you, or do you want to perish with your dead husband and this world?"
Valentina pursed her lips, worried about Fisher, which stopped her from interrupting the voice of Master Tao in her mind. She only mumbled softly as a rebuttal,
"He is not a dead ghost..."
"Haha..."
Upon hearing this, Tao smiled aningfully, perhaps recalling things from long, long ago, like when she saw the Transferee close to Fisher and the Angel on the Tree Continent.
But she offered no further explanation, simply continued,
"Listen up, trivial Phoenix. I’ve already introduced myself earlier, I am Tao, one of the Elven Third Sons. You probably don’t know exactly what an Elf is, considering that when I was alive, your trivial ancestors fell into the Abyss of Chaos due to their brainlessness, leading to extinction... All you need to know is that Elves are a race far stronger than your ancestors, and I am the only surviving mber of this race."
Valentina wanted to refute this extrely arrogant Elf, but she suddenly thought, if Elves are a race more powerful than Phoenixes, then they must be...
"Are you... Mythical Species?"
"Quite clever, we are Mythical Species created by the World Tree Mother, living on the Tree Continent for generations, the place where your Phoenix race resided before moving... To be precise, your ancestors are related to two of my sisters’ kin. However, they weren’t exactly good seeds, so when Mother lost her Weaver and Fermat Baha stole her roots and tossed them to the Northern Realm, your ancestors took the opportunity to follow the roots here..."
Valentina didn’t know if Phoenixes counted as her ancestors given the Turand Family stole the Phoenix Bloodline through rather vile ans, but with acknowledgnt from the Moon Princess, she was recognized by her mother and brothers...
The Mythical Species ntioned by Master Tao, Valentina had so understanding of, knowing how powerful such forces could be.
The Phoenixes themselves took a risky gamble against the threat of the Mythical Species nad "Paimon," attempting to enter Mythical Rank with Spirit Realm Pollution, only for the entire race to be wiped out as a result.
Thousands of years later, the terrifying Erwin was still a step away from Mythical Rank, unable to cross that threshold until death.
And these Elves from their inception were initially Mythical Species, which could only be seen as ironic.
This prompted Valentina to question, directing her query at Master Tao,
"Mythical Species... if you Elves are so powerful, why is there only you left now?"
"...Because of chaos and also because of war."
"Chaos? That’s what targeted Fisher? What exactly is this thing, so... terrifying?"
Master Tao’s voice softened but still explained to Valentina,
"What we call chaos actually cos from a force Beyond the World, possibly from entities stronger than the Gods themselves. The rules that run reality within the Spirit Realm were all created by the gods, and when forces from Beyond the World take effect, those rules get disrupted, causing incalculable damages, hence the na chaos...
"Originally, these chaotic forces were housed within so Transferees who entered this world for unknown reasons. All those people were Human, carrying within their minds chaotic knowledge like tumors. If left unchecked, that chaotic knowledge would take root and grow in their minds, eventually yielding wicked results, bringing disaster. For this reason, we once exhausted the world’s power to eliminate them, I have killed hundreds of Transferees, but it was all in vain..."
Tao’s voice was somber, as if recalling an unfinished nightmare,
"Transferees are simply carriers of chaotic knowledge. Killing them would soon lead to new Transferees bringing the sa knowledge. The only way to solve it once and for all is to fully record that chaotic knowledge, which requires allowing it to grow completely in their minds. It’s an unsolvable cycle, the only thod to stop chaos from continuing to breed is to let it thrive, which inevitably causes disaster.
"In the past, my arrogance blinded to this realization, foolishly thinking that finding and quickly killing Transferees over and over would resolve the issue... But mistakes were made. A Transferee secretly thrived under my watch, early Transferees appeared too normal, each with a living soul making them indistinguishable in terms of danger.
"This deception outsmarted fate, allowing him to survive and take root in the Tree Continent... Of course, there might have been help from other growing Transferees. Anyways, the chaotic knowledge within that Transferee grew day after day until it was fully matured. When he finally erupted, a disaster requiring Mother’s life engulfed the Tree Continent..."
Tao didn’t say any more, nor did she detail what exactly happened at that ti, as if bringing it up would stir pain.
