Now reading: Chapter 158 - 158 66 from Demi-human Girls Completion Manual, a Urban novel by Yiweimi.

158: 66.

Earth Marrow 158: 66.

Earth Marrow Fisher didn’t listen to g first about the secrets of the Ocean Subhuman; after all, the streets were bustling with people and their prying ears.

He decided to first take this rebellious child back to Gina’s wholesale shop, in hopes of helping to alleviate what looked like their family’s complicated and difficult conflict.

When they got back to the shop, mother and daughter exchanged glances, then g awkwardly shifted her gaze away, and of course, there could be no normal conversation.

Gina wanted to scold her disobedient daughter, but because Fisher and Moli were there as outsiders, she didn’t erupt in anger just yet.

Instead, she shot a glare at the downcast g before going out to deal with her Magic Chickens.

“Now let’s talk about the so-called intelligence on Ocean Subhumans.”

Looking around as the shop quieted down, Fisher turned to g, who was hugging a pillow on the sofa, and said so.

Moli, who was next to them, placed the Magic Materials on the table and then curiously looked at g, waiting for her to speak.

“Um…

It was about this week,” g began, “recently I’ve sotis gone out to play at night…

with my boyfriend and his friends.

Last Monday night, they brought several bottles of liquor and took next to the Coco River to watch the stars.”

“We drank too much, and a friend from Karen Street, nad Karek, ntioned sothing interesting…”

“Sothing interesting?”

“Yes,” g recalled the events of that night, “He said that there is a little elf that grows in the water of the central pool in Parker Park, who likes to trade with Humans.”

“If you place a valuable item by the side of the pool at night and then say ‘Offer up my treasure, exchange it quickly’ three tis to the Mother Goddess Statue in the middle of the pool…”

“Then by the next morning, the item you put by the pool will be taken away and replaced with sothing magical, like Magic Materials or coral.”

“However, the little elf only takes more valuable things, like jewelry and gemstones.

Karek said that when he previously placed a beer bottle there, the little elf didn’t take it.”

Moli listened intently, increasingly feeling it was like the urban legend of the top ten ghosts of Saint Nali that Milica had told her about at night.

She felt a chill and unconsciously leaned a bit closer to Fisher, while still watching g with utmost curiosity for the continuation of the story.

Fisher stroked his chin, appearing thoughtful, and he too remained silent.

“Then that night,” g continued, “my boyfriend, a bit too excited from the alcohol, decided to take us to Parker Park to trade items with the elf inside.”

“But they didn’t actually want to trade; they wanted to capture the elf!

They planned to place the item and then hide in the bushes of Parker Park, waiting to capture the elf when it appeared.”

“My boyfriend put a pocket watch from his house by the poolside, and then we lay in the bushes waiting for the elf to show up.”

“But by the ti we lay down, it was already around two or three in the morning, and feeling very sleepy from the alcohol, my boyfriend and Karek soon fell asleep.

I couldn’t hold out much longer and also dozed off.”

“However, I’m a light sleeper; any noise can wake up.

As I slept, I started to hear water sounds and other strange noises from the pool, and I was woken up.”

“I didn’t know what ti it was, the sky hadn’t brightened.

Was it five or six o’clock?

I got up, still groggy, and then I saw the so-called little elf that Karek and the others talked about!

It wasn’t any elf at all, but a living thing!”

“I saw a human head erging from the pool in Parker Park, reaching out to touch the pocket watch by the poolside, even lifting it to look…

There is a pipe under the central pool of Parker Park connected to the drainage of the Coco River; that creature took the pocket watch we left by the pool, and then it left a black sea snail in its place!

It’s the one I brought to my mom, have you seen it?”

Fisher nodded to indicate he had seen it while ntally cataloging all the information into his mind.

He was about to ask sothing when Moli, gripping the hem of her skirt anxiously like an eager listener to a thrilling story, took a breath and asked in a sowhat flustered manner,

“Then what happened?

You only saw a head?

Was it a sea ghost?

Did it see you?”

Fisher glanced at Moli beside him; from the profile, her normally rosy cheeks had paled a bit, betraying her fear but also showing intense curiosity, eagerly wanting to know what else happened that night.

“No…

My consciousness wasn’t very clear at that ti.

I only saw a human head floating up from the water, and I didn’t see the face.

I was too scared; I thought it was a ghost or a monster that specifically sucked human blood.

In my mory, an elf definitely wouldn’t have such a large human head.”

“But after I took the sea snail ho and thought about it carefully, ghosts seem too epheral; but whatever could swim such a long pipe must not be Human.

It might be…

a demi-human, of course, it also might be so other kind of monster, so I’m not quite sure if it was real.”
