Chapter 267: 113. Moderation

“Oh? Your Highness doubts the results of the investigation conducted by the New Party? After all, the evidence on site has already indicated that it was the Witch Research Association who planned this attack, and Your Highness has already directed the Hidden Affairs Bureau to conduct a sweeping operation against the Witch Research Associations within the entire country…”

Fisher was very cautious not to reveal the clues he had learned so far, because he was not sure what the Prince intended by coming here now.

If Gedelin IX and Blake, the behind-the-scenes manipulator of the Pink Hall, were both mbers of the Pioneering Faction, with countless connections between them, what then was the standing of the Prince before him in all this?

As the prince most likely to inherit the throne, Prince Dexter had always behaved with moderation, his many decisions and actions appearing almost like carbon copies; he looked into past decision-making history for ways to address the current situation, just as he often treated his subordinates to breakfast to project an approachability similar to that of Gedelin II.

Both the New Party and the Griffin Party had nearly the sa appraisal of the Prince: moderation.

But moderation also ant stability, maintaining the status quo. Gedelin IX’s pioneering policies had brought glory to Nali over the past decades, so Prince Dexter trusted the Exploration Party greatly with policy, otherwise he would not have entrusted them with many matters in the past.

Therefore, faced with Prince Dexter’s inquiry, Fisher only smiled slightly, smoothly transitioning the conversation as he tossed the question back.

“Mr. Fisher, please look at this…”

Prince Dexter glanced at Fisher and then twisted a gold cufflink on his sleeve with his finger. In Fisher’s line of sight, thick black shadows gradually welled up from the cuff, swirling around and enveloping the spot where Fisher and Prince Dexter were sitting.

Fisher’s gaze pulsed, and just as he was about to make a move, he heard the reassuring, steady voice of Prince Dexter,

“Stay calm, Mr. Fisher, this is a relic called ‘Shadow Creation’ that I carry with , used to record so things I’ve seen and heard before, all of which are true projections from my mory.”

His words had barely finished when his figure gradually faded into a sea of ethereal black shadow. The next second, the center of that patch of black mist, much like a lake bathed in moonlight at night, gradually revealed a scene.

Fisher’s gaze moved to that scene, where a corridor bathed in moonlight led to a courtyard ticulously pruned by the Royal Gardener.

The moonlight crystallized, and within the corridor, countless intricate patterns were engraved onto the adjacent walls and pillars, marked by the golden three-ring patterns that signified this was indeed the Golden Palace where the Nali Royal Family resided.

At that very mont, a man in a short robe leaned in the middle of the corridor, his head bowed as he looked out over the courtyard filled with moonlight.

The man, with long golden hair and a rather handso appearance, had a pallor so pronounced that one might wonder if he had done sothing to overexert himself—it was none other than the second prince, Lunxis Gedelin, previously ntioned.

The perspective of the black mist was very concealed, stealthily observing from a corner of the corridor far behind Prince Lunxis, clearly showing Prince Dexter eavesdropping hidden behind the corridor.

After just a few seconds, intermittent words from Prince Lunxis could be heard, though fortunately Fisher was able to roughly make out what he ant,

“What’s the matter with you all, still haven’t captured her? Don’t you know the situation with father?”

Fisher’s brow furrowed slightly, intently watching the scene within the mist.

Since Lunxis began speaking, the courtyard remained silent, without any response, but Lunxis continued as if he had received one, saying the next line,

“Don’t give the excuse that he needs rest this week, dragging on for another second, day, or week could worsen the situation. We had already agreed on this… The mishap with the Schwali Delegation is unforgivable, this matter must not have any errors, understand?”

Lunxis’s pale side profile looked sowhat ferocious, quite unlike his usual reserved and taciturn deanor.

As this sentence ca to an end, he breathed heavily for a while toward the silent courtyard, as if waiting for a response that never ca before he bitterly swept a glance around and walked towards the other end of the corridor, leaving behind the quiet court and the moonlight.

The image in the black mist gradually disappeared, the rotating mist slowly retracting like a whirlpool until it returned to the cuff on Prince Dexter’s sleeve.

“Lunxis often goes there to communicate with others; I once took a photo of him hiding his identity and conversing with others on Nate Weng Street.

The present Prince Dexter’s expression was complex as he took so docunts passed by the etiquette officer beside him. He tossed the files to Fisher and then handed his cup to the etiquette officer behind him, signaling for his milk to be refilled.

Fisher looked over the files, all of which were reports from the Hidden Affairs Bureau on that attack, along with a bunch of photos and magical records taken from tricky angles. If the Prince wished, he could easily track anyone without much effort.

“Mr. Fisher, let’s not beat around the bush anymore, Lunxis was involved in a terrorism act related to the attack received by the Schwali Delegation. I surmise that Mr. Fisher has so clues about this, right?”
