He spun uncontrollably in midair for several turns, blood spraying out and tracing a bloody trail on the ground.
“Fisher!”
Moli’s eyes were about to split, her hand quickly reaching out to catch Fisher to prevent him from hitting the ground and sustaining further damage. However, even the force of his ejection was imnse; it was hard to imagine just how strong Blake’s original attack had been.
Was this human actually a monster?
“Fisher Benavides, stop your futile resistance,” Blake spoke with an ancient tone, as raw as if ringing from an anvil of the last century. “I seek only the Son of the Sea. Once I obtain the Son of the Sea, I will disappear from Nali and never appear in human society again…”
Blake’s grating voice was accompanied by the sound of his ever-closer footsteps. Moli clenched her teeth and gently lowered Fisher to the ground, rising to continue the fight, but Fisher reached out to stop Moli from advancing.
