Unwilling to believe it, Fisher, Anna, and their group found nothing after searching the library for an hour. It was already past midnight, and Anna and Xiayat were sowhat exhausted and rested on the ground floor for a while, leaving only Fisher and Moli still searching on the second floor.
This fruitless search left Fisher puzzled; could it really be a physical switch? But that would be too obvious. Just as Moli was absorbed in the story, a nasally male voice suddenly blared beside her. She was abruptly yanked out of the world of the story, startled so much that she swung a punch instinctively, striking it hard against a very thick and ancient book.
The book was originally open, and the punch sent it flying, spinning several tis in mid-air before crashing onto the floor.
