"Hah... sorry, Fisher..."

Ossie, having spread her wings, panted, casting a sowhat apologetic look at Fisher standing before her amidst the ss scattered around the room, and apologized to him.

But Fisher did not show any superfluous emotion; he simply nodded and picked up the experintal records and steel pen that had fallen to the floor due to the gusts of wind, settling back into his chair.

"It’s okay."

Emhardt also flew back to his shoulder from the table behind him, curiously observing as Ossie gradually folded her wings.

Just as she was apprehensively closing her wings, Fisher suddenly spoke,

"Actually, Ossie... you feel nothing when I touch you, you even seem quite resistant, right?"

Fisher’s sudden remark was about the hand-holding, Ossie understood this, and after hesitating for a second, she nodded,

"Yeah..."

Waiting for her response, Fisher then continued,

"It’s not strange... there is no affection between us, we’re not even acquainted, the romantic experience you want to gain of course can’t be achieved in such a way, nor can you feel what Alagina felt... or let ask you in another way, Ossie, do you really want to experience what Alagina felt... or, do you want to give Alagina a bit of revenge through this way?"

Ossie’s eyes widened slightly, as if a chord had been struck in her heart by Fisher’s words, but her grip on the paper and pen remained light.

His gaze swept over the content recorded above, the part about external data for Ossie was already complete, what was left required focused attention on her wings,

"Ossie, it seems to that deep down you bear so resentnt towards Alagina, right? Talking to today, including wanting to experience love with , actually stems from that resentnt in your heart."

"Alagina left Sardinia with all her subordinates, including you, but the one who was closest to her, the most trustworthy, did not receive her utmost care. You, being the only demi-human on the ship, she knew nothing about your special circumstances, your desire to communicate with others, or your need to collect those relics."

"She always thought the loyal and taciturn guard in her mind should always be that way, so she treated you in the sa manner, thinking it sufficed to give you wealth and let you continue to play her guard. This, however, led you to linger alone on the ship’s mast each day, enduring loneliness and solitude, with only the parrot Steel Blade for company..."

Sitting on the bed, Ossie looked at Fisher, her mouth opened slightly in sadness, the Steel Blade in her arms seed to sense her mood, too, quickly nuzzling into her embrace, trying to ease her unease.

"I...I just..."

She wanted to argue, but inside she believed Fisher was right, during this period, she indeed harbored so grievances towards Alagina.

After leaving Sardinia to beco pirates, they stayed on the vast open sea every day, of course, this was different from the constant surveillance and tracking by her mother in Sardinia.

The legendary new pirate captain did not need a constantly loyal guard, but after the situation changed, Alagina did not assign other tasks to Ossie, what’s more, she was not familiar with the human soldiers in the army, which led to her current predicant.

Of course, this did not an Ossie blad Alagina for everything, nor did it an she was disloyal to Alagina.

She knew well that her timid nature did not fit in with the mainstream of the female country, making it very hard for her to communicate with others, so that little bit of resentnt created by Alagina’s neglect stayed hidden in her heart, only to be discovered today by Fisher, a stranger.

"I understand... Alagina has too much to consider, the pursuit from the female country, various bounty orders, the safety of the Iceberg Queen... just... despite so many things, after you boarded, she was still able to focus entirely on you, then why didn’t she notice that I too needed her help?"

She pulled her huge wings a bit closer, wrapping her body within her feathers, her gaze then shifted to the parrot Steel Blade trying to comfort her in her arms, her voice growing sowhat low.

Seeing how Ossie wrapped herself up into a ball the way she did on the Iceberg Queen, Fisher put down the steel pen,

"It seems we have an additional item to add to our deal, besides helping you integrate with your ship, we also need to solve the little problem between you and Alagina."

Ossie didn’t even lift her gaze but quietly asked,

"Will you tell Alagina about what happened today?"

"No."

"...Thank you."

After hearing Fisher’s decisive response, Ossie finally lifted her head and stealthily glanced at Fisher, who was still looking down at the experintal records in his hands.

For so reason, after that sentence, a peculiar feeling started to spread within her.

It wasn’t exactly acceleration nor did it follow the usual calm pattern; it felt more like a searing heat slowly spreading through her heart, gradually warming the spot on her wings where Fisher had touched just monts ago...

Initially, it was rely a small act of revenge against Alagina for neglecting her, but now, recalling the gentle touch of this human on her wings, she suddenly understood why Alagina cherished such contact...

Her face, hidden beneath her wings, began to turn slightly red, the sense of betrayal towards Alagina mixing with the newfound joy, forming a complex, contradictory emotion within her.

But... she didn’t dislike it.

"Alright, this issue isn’t too challenging for , we’ll talk when Alagina returns. Before then, let’s finish this secret research, it won’t take much longer."

"Ah? Oh, the research... right, Fisher, aren’t you eating? It’s going to get cold."

"Right, I almost forgot about the lunch you bought ."

Fisher beca very enthusiastic whenever he engaged in research, though studying purely demi-human academia could be sowhat dull, occasionally obtaining little anecdotes about experintal subjects added flavor.

After speaking, he turned his head towards the eel rice she had brought back to the room, but at that mont, Fisher suddenly noticed that besides bringing two plates of eel rice, Ossie had also brought two standard-style coffee cups.

The white coffee cups bore no extra markings, just a pair of what appeared to be adorable fluffy cat ears, which imdiately made Fisher cautious, as they bore the emblem of the "Cloud Top Cafe" where the Cloud Cat Species Maids he’d encountered before belonged.

And given Ossie’s personality, she absolutely wouldn’t go to that cafe on her own initiative.

Thinking of this, Fisher quickly asked,

"Wait, Ossie, where did this coffee co from?"

"This is... while I was ordering just now, a maid from the cafe was promoting their samples in the hotel lobby, said it was for us to drink... don’t worry, I’ve just checked it, it didn’t cost extra, and it’s not poisoned..."

Looking at Ossie’s cautious deanor, it seed she was worried she had spent too much of Fisher’s money, so she explained it this way.

Fisher silently smiled, reassuring her that he wasn’t concerned about the extra spending, only then did she seem to relax, poking her head out a bit from beneath her wings.

It was normal for Ossie not to know; ordinary people wouldn’t notice, and if Fisher didn’t have the "Demi-human Girls Completion Manual" with its near-cheating replay function, he wouldn’t have suspected those Cloud Cat Species Maids either.

But now the issue was, Fisher was temporarily unsure whether this coffee showing up was re coincidence or if spies from the Northern Realm were targeting them.
