Valentina’s eyes reddened as she watched the Magic Ring being removed from her ring finger. The Nali Agent weighed the rings for a mont and then walked back to Curion to report.
Curion gasped several tis, looking at the distant Curse Death Prison, which had now completely transford into a Magic Cube, and at Emhardt, who kept slamming into it. Finally, he revealed a faint smile,
"Success at last, once we return, the Empress will surely reward us handsoly... Hold on, I must report this to the Empress first."
He reached for his temple and, as he awakened the Gold-colored long-distance Communication Magic, Elizabeth’s calm voice suddenly rang in his ear,
"Curion? The Curse Death Prison has contracted, and Fisher has been captured?"
Through that distant Communication Magic, Elizabeth, having seen the Magic Cube floating in mid-air and the book-shaped relic that was inseparably close to Fisher, knew that the capture operation might have succeeded, and even her tone carried a hint of excitent.
"Ah, yes, Your Majesty, Fisher—"
"Boom!"
Just as Curion was about to speak proudly, a thunderous explosion like the sound of cannon fire suddenly erupted behind him. The mont the sound reached his ears, his head exploded, causing Elizabeth, far in Nali, to slightly furrow her brow.
"Thud!"
Curion’s headless corpse fell in the snow, and Elizabeth’s Communication Magic fell in the snow with his shattered eyeball. Hence, in Elizabeth’s field of vision, she could only see darkness, but she could still hear the voices coming from the other side.
Behind Curion, Valentina, who was lying on the ground, was gasping for air as she raised the Mini Cannon given to her by Celti for self-defense. Her pale face and trembling little hands could hardly stabilize, but her pale silver eyes were dead set on another Special Agent present,
"Give back Fisher and the ring he sent !"
"Boom!"
The Special Agent was quick to react, almost instantly snapping out of the shock of Curion’s death, but it was too late to draw the gun. Valentina’s Mini Cannon roared into life again, and the agent instinctively ducked, but the lethal range of Celti’s Mini Cannon was too vast. Although the duck saved the lower half of his head, the upper half burst on impact.
Back in Nali, Elizabeth heard Valentina’s feminine voice and flew into a rage, furiously kicking the desk in front of her so hard that she completely overturned the table that had just been replaced. The teacups and glass shattered all over the floor,
"The ring... The ring!! How dare you have it! Bitch!"
However, there was no one left in the Northern Realm who could hear Elizabeth’s voice filled with jealousy and anger because her subordinate Curion had already died far from ho.
"Boss, Jamie!"
"Roar!"
Watching Philis’s Special Agent’s complexion change, he quickly aid the gun at Valentina, who was lying on the ground. But just as he pulled the trigger, Philis suddenly ramd into him, sending the gunfire skyward. In the next mont, Philis had stabbed the other agent’s throat with a Mini Dagger given to her by the Snow Fox Species.
Looking at the Special Agent beneath her losing his breath, Philis glanced at the Snow Fox Mini Dagger in her hand and smiled faintly, then slumped to the ground,
"Lucky dagger from the little fox... Ha... ha... I like it."
"Boom!"
Philis, who was lying in the snow clutching her wounds, hadn’t rested even a second when she imdiately felt the earth shaking beneath her. Her complexion changed slightly as she turned to look up at the mountain, just to see a massive snowstorm, like a tsunami, bearing down from the peak.
"It’s an avalanche, boss! Ah, it hurts so much!"
The previous activation of the Cardinal Weapon hadn’t made much noise or caused any tremors, but the release of Fisher from the Curse Death Prison had loosened the centuries-old snow upon the distant mountain peaks. The loud booming of the two shots fired by Valentina in anger had beco the final straw that triggered an avalanche on the outer edge of Sema Snow Mountain.
Just as Philis thought to go and rescue the nearby Valentina, she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdon. Her vision began to blur with it, preventing her from getting up.
Oh no, the wound...
As Philis squinted, feeling the avalanche drawing ever closer, a figure fast as lightning, carrying a book in one hand and dragging Valentina lying in the snow with the other, rushed towards Philis.
"Fisher..."
Philis murmured, and in the next second, Fisher had placed Valentina next to Philis. He looked down at the pale-faced Valentina and recalled the last loud boom of the cannon he heard just before completely losing consciousness. He gave a wry, humorless smile and spoke to her,
"You did well, you saved my life... Now leave the rest to ."
Valentina pursed her lips, lightly caught his shirtfront with her fingers, visibly disheartened, and whispered,
"The ring... I’ve lost it..."
Fisher was montarily taken aback. He turned his head back to the pitiable Valentina by his side. As if a soft spot in his heart had been gently touched, he couldn’t help but reach out and wipe the wetness from the corner of her reddening eyes, casually brushing away the unshed tears. anwhile, from his right sleeve, a bubbling green light grew brighter and louder with a "gurgle, gurgle."
"It’s okay."
"Gurgle, gurgle~"
Valentina squinted at the sound of Fisher’s voice when suddenly, a soft, freezing-like green liquid burst forth from his hand. The green, jelly-like substance expanded bit by bit until it ford a protective do in mid-air, shakily enclosing the three of them and the book.
That was the precious relic, the "Sli Ring," given to Fisher by the Sli King, which could be used one more ti.
The jelly-like ring seed insignificant against the mighty avalanche, but at the next mont, the imnse force was eerily deflected upon collision with the Sli Ring,
"Thud~ Thud~ Thud~"
The do around them shook continuously but remained unbroken, even as it was buried under the heavy snow. Feeling the snow envelop the entire Sli Ring and plunging into darkness, Valentina quietly closed her eyes. Her hand, which was hooked onto Fisher’s sleeve, slipped slowly until Fisher reached out and took her small hand into his own, gently tightening his grip.
"Boom!"
From a distant mountain peak, Erwin, wearing a beak mask, watched the massive avalanche completely subrge the slopes below. His form was still and statue-like because, reflected in the lens of his beak mask, a green light flickered beneath the snowy heap.
He fell silent for a mont before turning his head to look into the distance, deep in the outskirts of Sema Snow Mountain. The next mont, the winds of the Northern Realm picked up, and Erwin’s body dissipated like a fragile, shaking dandelion, turning into specks of black petals drifting far away, vanishing without a trace.
