"Okay, Fisher, you heartless man, I even went off to read so as not to interfere with your affairs, and I ended up reading all day and night without anyone looking for . I thought you had died in the Holy Marriage! To think, to think, you big-browed and big-eyed man, you forgot about !"
The night’s wind and snow fluttered about, and the sky was heavy with dark clouds. Fisher, all set and carrying Valentina, walked in the snow with several female trolls leading the way, ensuring they followed the path set by their previously arranged teleportation ritual, while the square-shaped book relic cursed and bumped its head against Fisher’s.
It was no wonder Emhardt was angry. Starting in the morning, after the Holy Marriage with Valentina and eating sothing, Fisher went alone to practice engraving magic until evening. During this ti, Emhardt was forgotten in the Troll Species’ library until just before leaving, which naturally angered Emhardt.
"You trashy man! You trashy man!"
Fisher, with dead fish eyes, reached out to block Emhardt’s bumps, but the bla could not be entirely placed on him. After all, he had been preoccupied with how to deal with Erwin, so much so that even Valentina, who had just wedded the night before, could not stay with him, let alone Emhardt. Incidentally, Valentina had not rested well the previous night and took the opportunity to nap in the afternoon, naturally not understanding Emhardt’s anger.
"Don’t be angry, Emhardt, Fisher just got busy and accidentally forgot about you."
She called out to Emhardt a few tis and saw him, floating in mid-air, squint his eyes and turn to stare at her, wondering,
"Really?"
"Yes, he was busy being lovey-dovey with ~"
"Your mom..."
Seeing Valentina on his back covering her mouth and giggling, about to successfully divert Emhardt’s wrath by bumping his head, Fisher quickly grabbed him in the palm of his hand and sowhat explained the afternoon’s situation. This finally appeased the little Book Knight, who pouted and said, "Okay then," and cald down in his embrace.
During this short chat, they finally walked out from the Giant Troll Tribe and ca outside. Dalilulu, standing at the forefront, pointed up ahead. On a cleared snowy ground stood a Sli Species’ flute among a pile of items, which included tals like gold and a token in the center.
Fisher, still carrying Valentina, walked up to the array. Upon seeing the Boundary Flute stuck in the snowy ground, he could not help but raise an eyebrow and asked Dalilulu,
"Wait, you an the teleportation involves the Sli?"
"Definitely not, do you think we Trolls are smart enough to teleport others? Before the Sli Species left the Northern Realm, my mother and the Sli King exchanged ideas. Our life spans are a bit longer than those of the Sli, so my mother and the Sli King are friends. They agreed to help each other fulfill the Moon Princess’s mandate to help the Phoenix Bloodline return to the Wutong Tree. This Teleportation Array works by leveraging the power of the Sli King."
"This old thing..."
Fisher sighed speechlessly. He guessed that the Sli King had probably favored him because he sensed Valentina’s Phoenix aura on him, but who could have thought that this guy had originally intended to help Valentina return to the Wutong Tree unconditionally, essentially conning a favor out of him due to his informational disadvantage.
Seeing Fisher sigh, Valentina on his back gently poked his cheek and teased,
"Don’t tell you got conned by the Sli King when you were at the Boundary having not told earlier. Now that you’re leaving the Turand Family, there’s no such thing as reimbursent, see where your showing off has gotten you~"
Though the Sli Species would be very careful with exploiting their favors, at least they wouldn’t expose their faults to those ladies now, but if one day everything cos to light, things would really hit the fan...
Thinking this, Fisher suddenly turned his face and kissed Valentina’s soft cheek to calm himself down, causing the blushing Valentina to cover her own cheek and pat Fisher’s shoulder, exclaiming,
"Fisher!"
"That was for encouragent."
"What? What kind of encouragent..."
"Probably the kind that gives more courage, thank you, Valentina."
"You rascal..."
Valentina, red-faced, buried her head in his shoulder and gently pinched his earlobe, not sure whether it was coquetry or punishnt, while Emhardt hiding in Fisher’s pocket stared with dead fish eyes, feeling uncomfortable all over.
He just felt that he shouldn’t be here, but rather should have stayed in the Troll Species’ library to rot.
"Alright, step on it, Fisher. This token is from my mother, it will take you to her side. Be careful after you go to the Wutong Tree. The hopes of our Six Clans, and other living creatures rest on you all... Oh, and do send my regards to that old ghost of a mother, if she’s still alive."
Hearing the words Dalilulu spoke outside the ritual, Fisher nodded in agreent. Then, Dalilulu, with a heartening smile, signaled the other Trolls to step back, clearing so distance, and he himself placed a slender horn to his lips and aid it at the sky, powerfully blowing out a deep and long sound.
