Chapter 785: 147. Spread Wings and Soar
Valentina’s consciousness kept sinking as if her body were tied and dragged down by countless boulders. In her blurry, dazed vision, she could only see the eerie purple glow that surrounded her, while beyond that flickering, mysterious purple lay an extrely terrifying dark red.
Wait… Fisher!
As Valentina felt herself becoming drowsier and colder, she suddenly rembered Fisher’s face, which caused her to abruptly open her eyes and desperately try to twist her body upward. However, the dragging force grew stronger, leaving her unable to break free and continuing to drag her downward.
Yet, during this descent, her view was simultaneously adorned by an extrely spectacular sight.
She saw layers upon layers of Magic, wrapped in a deep red eerie energy, forming an indistinct arrangent of layers in an incredibly vast space. Each layer flickered with scenes very similar to the “Dream” Magic her mother had left her, but she was not in that dream. Instead, she kept being dragged towards the Spirit Realm, opposite to the real world.
Behind her, a locked gate that should have been imperceptible to living creatures horrifyingly revealed a dark red color at this mont, as if sothing from the other side of the gate, the far end of the Spirit Realm, wished to enter from here. Its body hadn’t entered the gap, but strands of energy still emanated from it, locked by the shadow of a colossal tree in front of Valentina.
“Child, co this way…”
While Valentina hesitated, a gentle female voice suddenly ca from the shadow of the giant tree, locked by the crimson energy. Having heard this voice not long ago, Valentina imdiately recognized the owner of the voice,
“Moon Princess? Is it you?”
“Yes, my child, just co toward the base. We are all here waiting for you.”
Having heard this, Valentina did not imdiately move but warily watched the giant tree referred to as the “base” by the Moon Princess, fearing it to be a trap to lure her into completing it. This wary look made the Moon Princess laugh, and she spoke again,
“Be at ease, the energy from the Spirit Realm Pollution has been partially diverted. The boundless dreamscape before you was built with Its power, thus weakening its ability to lock onto the base. Moreover, ti in the real world has been fixed, and since your body hasn’t rged with us, the base cannot be complete…”
After hearing the Moon Princess say this, Valentina hesitantly drifted toward the shadow of the giant tree. In this special space within the gap of the Spirit Realm, the closer she got to the giant tree, the clearer the sight of it beca.
It was a massive tree, entirely sealed by so cold moonlight. Beneath the tree, on the platform, stood a green-haired woman over two ters tall, wearing an elegant, white, silk gown, her long green hair neatly pinned behind her head with a slim Ice Crystal Hairpin—Valentina only then realized she had never seen the Moon Princess dressed like this in reality.
“Co quickly, child.”
“Moon Princess…”
Valentina flew to the side of the tall figure and gazed with so astonishnt at the beautiful woman, who shimred with a smile as if her entire being radiated light. Behind her, her long white robe was sustained by a pale-colored rainbow cloth, further accentuating the elegance of the before her.
“You were just outside… Why are you here again?”
“This is the ‘base,’ the platform that the Spirit Realm entity wanted to use as a springboard to enter the real world. But likewise, because of the base’s incompleteness and the intervention of another God from the Spirit Realm, this base, initially intended as a springboard, has instead temporarily beco a prison it cannot escape from. This is why for thousands of years, the Stars have not left the Spirit Realm to invade in large numbers… What you saw outside was the consciousness I infused into the Holy Object, but my actual soul was placed here by that assisting Spirit Realm God for a reunion with my kin.”
“The Spirit Realm’s… another God?”
Valentina asked with so astonishnt, looking beneath the incomplete shadow of the giant tree at the exceedingly cold, out-of-place moonlight.
The Moon Princess just smiled without elaborating further, instead reaching out to touch the short Valentina’s temples before rolling up her sleeve slightly and pointing at the nearby giant tree,
“My lords, please look at this child, she is the last of my blood left in the world…”
Hearing the Moon Princess’s words, Valentina looked up at the giant tree and suddenly saw shadowy figures perched on it, many Phoenix Species with huge wings, armored or robed, their hair styled just like hers—they all stood on the tree branches, observing the small Valentina next to the Moon Princess.
“Incomplete beings, how can they ensure continuity?”
“Not even a Phoenix in appearance, rely a Human at most…”
Facing the whispers of the shadows on the branches, the Moon Princess just smiled slightly and looked up at the very top of the giant tree. There, a white-shirted male Phoenix squinted his eyes with a silent smile, and another Phoenix in armor just snorted coldly, similarly saying nothing.
