Capítulo 817: First eting with Elizabeth (Part 3)

It seed as if they shared an inexplicable understanding, even though it was their first eting, just like at this mont.

When Elizabeth opened her eyes and secretly turned to look at the man beside her, the praying man opened his eyes at the sa mont. Both instinctively looked at the person next to them, separated by a distance, and thus noticed each other’s actions…

Elizabeth had nothing to hide. She rely parted her lips and looked at him. The young man before her t her gaze neither humbly nor arrogantly but retreated slightly under the gaze of her slightly flickering, piercing golden eyes.

“…”

They didn’t exchange any extra conversation, just both amazed that the other had done the sa action as themselves.

To avoid making the other feel awkward, Elizabeth, and the young man before her, wanting not to overstep and offend the princess, seed to both intend to get up and leave simultaneously, as the prayer seed to have ended. Thus, they stood up together.

Seeing the other person mirroring her actions again, Elizabeth couldn’t help but smile, which only made the scholarly, extrely reserved Nali Gentleman before her even more awkward. Elizabeth took the initiative and acted the “gentleman,” saying,

“After you, please.”

“Thank you.”

He didn’t stand on ceremony either and stood up to approach the bishop in front, handing over an envelope to him. Elizabeth recognized it as a eulogy, usually written by the living to deceased relatives, and giving it to the bishop ant that he had a relative who was a devout Mother Goddess believer and was buried in the church, eternally resting beneath the Mother Goddess’s feet.

After the bishop nodded kindly, Elizabeth and that young gentleman quietly and tacitly didn’t look at each other again until the gentleman exited the church through the main gate.

Perceiving that the young gentleman from the sa school had left, Elizabeth stood in silence for a mont, then walked toward the bishop, exchanging pleasantries with him, expressing her reverence for the Mother Goddess and recounting how the Mother Goddess guided her life, not forgetting to make a monetary donation like a devout believer.

No one could discern the true thoughts of this “perfect Mother Goddess believer” except for that gentleman just now.

Perhaps he did it on purpose, wanting to climb the royal family’s social ladder?

But that strange tacit understanding didn’t allow Elizabeth to think that way.

She followed behind the bishop, conversing while watching as he held the eulogy that the young gentleman had just handed over and walked to a wall made of stone boxes at the back of the church. Each stone box had inscriptions, containing the ashes of devout Mother Goddess believers. The bishop was responsible for burning the eulogies brought by the families, ensuring that their thoughts could reach the Divine Realm of the Mother Goddess so they could be known.

In the corner of the stone wall, the bishop swung the envelope in front of a stone box and quietly said,

“ssenger of the Mother Goddess, your mortal family expresses their sincere longing for you, wishing you a peaceful slumber in the realm of the Mother Goddess.”

Elizabeth’s golden eyes looked over and saw a single line of text carved on the stone box,

“Thank you for giving a lonely a ho. Even though you have left, and I am alone once more, you are forever my family.”

“In mory of: Teresa Benavides, a great and devout nun”

“Fisher Benavides”

Elizabeth gazed at the text on the small tombstone, where the word “family” seed to glow, causing ripples to stir in her golden eyes.

She took a deep breath, feeling sowhat anxious and uncertain, as she looked toward the church behind her where the young gentleman’s figure had long vanished; but a second later, she seed to recall sothing, suddenly turning to look at the na on the tombstone.

“Fisher… Benavides?”

“What did you say, Your Highness?”

“Ah, nothing… Thank you for your guidance, Bishop, I must take my leave now.”

“Please, Your Highness.”

Elizabeth smiled perfectly, yet her steps involuntarily quickened slightly as she briskly left the place.
