Capítulo 835: Chapter 6: Undead Witch
Though Fisher had known Renie for a long ti, this was the first ti he had experienced Renie’s perspective in her illusory state. Just now, Renie had touched him, sharing her thod of avoiding bullets through virtualization, allowing him to enter the gap of the Spirit Realm. No wonder she could co and go freely in the virtual state, neither being touched nor montarily transported to far-off places.
Renie, can you freely enter the world within the gap?
“Goo goo~”
In the cold snowy land, the night was gradually deepening, and the nocturnal gale was like an invisible blade, stirring up the surrounding snow, making the environnt unnervingly still.
In the darkness, on the surrounding trees, several purple larks that seed to have appeared from nowhere leapt onto the branches, tilting their heads to observe Renie, who was leading Fisher forward through the snow. As they ventured further into the mountains, Renie soon noticed a rather dilapidated Hunter’s cabin ahead.
The people of Sardinia Female Country have a tradition of hunting. Experienced Hunters often seek out larger, more dangerous prey, thus building small cabins in the mountains for rest and supplies.
However, the cabin before them had clearly been abandoned for a long ti. The tiles and wooden beams were missing or entirely broken, the ceiling exposed in large areas, and a thin layer of Frost Snow had accumulated inside. Looking up from within showed the pure Northern Realm night sky.
“Renie…”
“Hmm? I’m here… they’re still chasing us, but we have so distance. Let’s rest here for a while.”
Renie smilingly led the weakened Fisher into the cabin, carefully helping him to sit in a part of the room free from accumulated Frost Snow. The cabin was drafty, the front door and walls had collapsed, revealing the snowy field outside at night.
“Emhardt, still behind us.”
Fisher leaned against the back wall, catching his breath, eyes fixed on the beautiful woman unseen for so long. Even in the darkness, her alluring profile remained bright; her purple eyes, like spilled red wine, shifted slightly as she looked at Fisher, then touched her chin with her finger, saying,
“Emhardt? Is that the na of that book relic?”
“Yes, I t it when you weren’t around; it has been with this whole ti.”
“Oh, it’s been with you the whole ti? I’m a bit jealous now. In the past, when I was around you too long, you would want gone, yet you can spend so long with a book? I’m so envious, or do you find completely unattractive?”
Renie’s fake crying gesture was transparent to Fisher, but instead of interrupting her performance as before, he just quietly watched her, as if he couldn’t get enough,
“No, you’ve always been very captivating to …”
“Eh, wait! While I was gone, did you find another Lady? You seem to speak so nicely now… Tell ! Who taught you this?”
Fisher leaned back against the wall, shook his head, and said,
“No, you’ve been missing for too long. I ca to the Northern Realm to find you, and I got a clue from the Witch Research Association… You didn’t go to Kado, right? Where were you all this ti?”
“Well, this…”
Renie held her chin, appearing troubled. Fisher looked at her puzzled expression, suddenly chuckling to himself. He shook his head and said,
“It doesn’t matter if you don’t want to say; I didn’t co to interrogate you, just to find you. Knowing or not knowing doesn’t change anything for , just that…”
Renie looked at the hesitant Fisher, the first ti seeing him sowhat reserved, leaving his words incomplete. This troubleso man usually spoke freely to her but now appeared uncharacteristically shy. His half-finished sentence piqued her curiosity. She smiled, nudged Fisher’s now slender arm, and said,
“Hmm, say it, say it, just what?”
To her surprise, he shook his head, responding,
“No, never mind, it’s nothing.”
“Eh? That’s it…”
Renie felt a bit disappointed, pouting as she rested her chin on her hand and sat beside Fisher. She noticed the faint firelight erging below the Snow Mountain, probably the Witch Research Association people having reached the base of the mountain. Yet, she wasn’t flustered or showed any other emotion, rely glancing at his weakened state leaning against the wall, and complained,
“You’re such a fool. Even though I told you to take care of yourself while I was gone, you ended up like this. If you’re not heartbroken, I certainly am… You said you ca to find , but I think I’m fine while you’re the one in trouble, such an idiot!”
Fisher glanced innocently at his slender body, turned to look at Renie, and said,
“Well, compared to before, I must look awful. I’ll figure sothing out.”
“As expected, such an idiot, worrying about appearances at a ti like this… Fisher, the gentleman, used to only care about his talents, even refused nice clothes. Why do you care about these things now?”
“Care about it? Maybe a little, especially in front of you.”
