Capítulo 844: Chapter 9: The Approaching Queen (Part 3)
“Hmm, isn’t my money your money? And your money is my money, too. I don’t mind if you spend it. Besides, aren’t clothes just for montary beauty? Even if they can be worn many tis, you’d eventually get tired of them anyway. Alright, let’s get this one then. After that, let’s go see the elder you ntioned.”
Renie nodded with satisfaction at the now handso and charming Fisher in front of her, generously pulling out so Holy Maiden Coins from the small bag slung over her shoulder and placing them in front of the shopkeeper. Fisher nodded after listening and walked out of the shop. At the end of his field of vision, the entrance of a very luxuriously decorated tavern was glowing with a soft white light, with words written above,
“Old Jack and Pahetz’s Tavern, welcoming humans and all demi-humans.”
Below that line of text, there was another line in Northern Language, aning “Iceberg Queen.”
Fisher led Renie into the warmly lit tavern. It was still just afternoon, so there were no custors at all. The neatly arranged tables and chairs had an indoor swing at their end, and behind the swing was a bookshelf. At this mont, three familiar petite figures were gathered in front of that bookshelf, reading a storybook.
“Ding ding ding~”
As Fisher and Renie entered, the doorbell swayed, making a crisp sound that imdiately drew the attention of those three little treasures,
“Grandpa, there’s a guest… it’s Fisher! And a pretty big sister!”
“Fisher! Fisher’s back!”
Fisher smiled and greeted Karma, Dian Dian, and the others, while Renie also smiled and patted the heads of the three Mouse-man children,
“Hello kids, I’m Fisher’s friend. I have so candy here, would you like to eat so?”
“Yay, there’s candy to eat! Fisher, Grandpa is behind the counter!”
Fisher was slightly taken aback at the sight of the two bags of candy Renie handed out. Then, hearing this, he looked up to see Old Jack in a dark barkeep outfit standing behind the tavern’s counter, looking a bit surprised at Fisher and the Lady Kado who was with him.
“Hello, I’m Renie, Fisher’s friend… Fisher said you haven’t seen each other for a long ti, so we ca here specifically to visit you.”
“Ah… hmm, I see.”
Old Jack looked at Fisher, seemingly about to say sothing but stopping himself. Soon, Renie, who was holding candy, was surrounded by the three bouncing adorable girls and sat down at the table beside them, eagerly distributing the candy.
Fisher then approached Old Jack at the counter and said,
“It seems things have been going well for you here, ‘Old Jack and Pahetz’s Tavern’… have you and that Chief Officer Pahetz beco a thing?”
Faced with Fisher’s teasing smile, Old Jack couldn’t help but get a bit annoyed. He first glanced nonchalantly at the beautiful lady who was still playing with Karma and the others, then leaned closer to Fisher and whispered,
“Fisher, you ca on an interesting day, couldn’t you have co so other day or not brought a lady… Alagina and Pahetz are out at sea with the Black Chief and the others charting the East Ocean to pinpoint the Storm Sea. You know the East Ocean is the vastest ocean, it takes a long ti to return, so occasionally Alagina cos back with an escort ship for supplies. Pahetz doesn’t co back often, so because of my relationship with her, she cos up to check on and bring so of Pahetz’s gifts for .”
Ignoring the implicit ‘dog-food’ content of Old Jack’s words about Pahetz, since these were part of Old Jack’s private life, the most crucial thing was… it seed he caught onto the implication in Old Jack’s words.
His expression changed slightly, also glancing at Renie behind him, who hadn’t noticed anything and was still playing with the girls.
Fisher leaned a bit closer to Old Jack’s counter, sowhat exasperatedly saying,
“Are you saying Alagina will co back today, here?”
“Not today, but right now!”
Hearing this, Fisher turned around. The location of Old Jack’s tavern was excellent, affording a perfect view over the harbor of the Pirate Harbor, and thus, with his excellent eyesight, he imdiately saw a frigate flying the “Iceberg Queen” flag that had sohow docked.
And stepping slowly down from that frigate was soone with long white hair, tall stature, and an expressionless face from the Sardinia Female Country, soone Fisher was all too familiar with, given how close they had been on a certain night…
That was the Iceberg Queen, Alagina.
