The maid heard Elizabeth’s murderous words and quickly raised her hand, but because she was still panting, the words she wanted to say got caught in her throat, causing her to cough,
"Cough, cough, cough! No... Your Majesty, he... he didn’t co to ask for anything... He said he has news about Fisher and would take Your Majesty to a place to tell you..."
Leaning against the headboard, Elizabeth, upon hearing these words, her entire body stiffened, and her joints moved slightly, allowing her to raise her head. Her pair of glowing golden eyes looked imposingly at the maid in front of her who ca to relay the ssage,
"He said... what?"

"Giddy-up! Giddy-up!"
Nali’s winter was blanketed in white snow. After being closed for a long ti, the Golden Palace astonishingly opened its gates today. Several golden carriages pulled by white horses slowly drove out from the palace. In Nali today, only one person could ride such a carriage, and that was the noble Empress herself.
The signal of the Empress’s tour was extrely obvious, causing many spies sent by ministers to keep an eye on the gates of the Golden Palace to turn pale and hurry back to report to their masters. It is believed that soon, the rumors of the Empress’s illness would be dispelled, but that would have to wait until Elizabeth reappeared before the ministers.
At this ti, Trandell, dressed in a thick black trench coat, stood still outside the Golden Palace. Since Fisher left Nali, his complexion seed much better, unlike before, when he often looked frail. Riding a horse at the gate, he saw the golden carriage pulled by the white horses slowly coming out. His expression instantly changed, and, in an attempt to please, he pulled the horse to the roadside, waiting for the carriage to stop beside him. He imdiately prepared to dismount and pay his respects,
"Your Majesty..."
But just as he made a move, the curtain of the carriage didn’t open, and a very calm female voice was heard from inside,
"Take directly to the destination you ntioned... If you dare to deceive , heads will roll tonight."
Sweat appeared on Trandell’s forehead. It seed the Empress hadn’t ntioned what rewards there would be if it were true, but if it were false, he reckoned he would be joining his long-deceased ancestors tonight. This thought made him force a smile and point to the road ahead, saying,
"No, I wouldn’t dare, Your Majesty. I truly received news about Fisher. The place is not far in the city. I’ll take you there... Giddy-up!"
With that, Trandell spurred his horse and headed towards a certain direction in the city.
Word of the Empress’s departure had already spread when she left. Though the event ca suddenly and the Golden Palace hadn’t organized road closures, upon spotting the golden carriage from afar, many pedestrians and carriages automatically parted to clear the way. Hence, the journey was not long. Elizabeth ate so food in the carriage; whether it was the food or the yet-to-be-verified news about Fisher, her spirits seed to have improved.
"Your Majesty, we have arrived."
It wasn’t long before the carriage gently stopped, and the voice of Trandell ca from outside. Elizabeth tidied her clothes and put on a black veil hat, concealing most of her sickly appearance.
She rejected the maid’s assistance beside her, dressed in entirely black fur clothing as she disembarked. The following Golden Guards surrounded the place completely. Turning her head, she saw before her an ordinary three-story house within the city of Nali. Perhaps this particular house was special because its owner was an elderly lady nad Martha, and the only tenant here was Fisher Benavides.
"Fisher’s house... what is there to do here?"
After Fisher fled Nali and Elizabeth searched fruitlessly, she had ordered all of Fisher’s belongings from here to be taken to the Golden Palace. She found nothing significant and kept them in her bedroom for mory’s sake. Now, Trandell brought her here again.
Trandell respectfully bent forward, laughing awkwardly as he looked at the Golden Knight behind Elizabeth,
"Your Majesty, just follow ."
Elizabeth didn’t speak, but the Golden Knight behind her stepped forward, ready to draw his sword, startling Trandell so much that he fell into the snow,
"No, no... don’t kill !! This really is the place... I didn’t lie to Your Majesty!"
Seeing this, Elizabeth raised her hand to stop the knight. She glanced at the little house ahead. Perhaps it was due to her deep longing for Fisher that she suddenly wanted to visit where he once lived,
"Alright, lead the way, take where you want to go... with a maid and a knight, the others stay downstairs."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Hearing Elizabeth’s permission, Trandell quickly wiped the sweat off his forehead and climbed up from the ground. At this mont, he truly admired Fisher for being able to face Elizabeth and circle around her for so many years, sothing not just anyone could do...
"This way, Your Majesty."
He knocked on the door, and after a long wait, it slowly opened, revealing a cautious old woman within. Who else could it be but Lady Martha?
