Capítulo 868: Chapter 17: The Fire of the New Dragon Court
“My heavens, has the legendary Storm Sea really been found by the Black Chief?”
It was the third day after Fisher left when Alagina finally sailed back to the Iceberg Queen. Before she could fully process the lingering thoughts from her encounter with Fisher, a ssenger from the deeper-sailing Black Chief arrived with an astonishing piece of news.
The golden land coveted by all adventurers in legend, the Storm Sea has appeared.
“It’s absolutely true. Just the night before last, when our captain was sailing, he suddenly noticed sothing unusual on the distant sea. The ti eddies that had been plaguing us disappeared, and there, indeed, lies the Storm Sea!”
The ssenger who boarded the ship wore a short black sailor outfit and was sunburned to a deep tan, resembling a native of the South Continent. Yet for so reason, he spoke fluent Northern Language, likely why the Black Chief selected him as the ssenger?
At this mont, all the crew aboard the Iceberg Queen looked on in shock at Alagina, Pahetz, and Ossie, who stood behind them. Pahetz had shed so weight, her previously chubby face becoming more defined. It was uncertain whether this had sothing to do with Old Jack, but she insisted it was her endeavor to “return to her youthful vigor.”
As for Ossie, she still wore her cloak, maintaining her quiet, listening deanor, but she no longer spent all her ti at the mast.
Since Fisher’s departure, much had changed on the Iceberg Queen.
“That’s wonderful, Captain Alagina. Let’s go check it out! The Storm Sea… I once…”
At this ti, a not-too-tall girl with short golden hair in the group of crew surrounding the Black Chief’s ssenger had her golden eyes light up slightly and imdiately spoke to Alagina.
“Isabella, enough! Don’t interrupt, let us decide!”
“Yes, Chief Officer Pahetz!”
Pahetz imdiately glared at the speaking blonde girl, causing her to retreat behind others amidst the laughter of the surrounding crew.
The girl, referred to as “Isabella” by Pahetz, had a typical Nali appearance, though her skin had beco rather rough. The sun and sea wind had quickly imbued this girl from the Golden Palace with a resilient hue, her skin now a light wheat color, reminiscent of what Old Jack said, like a little leopard with the wildness of a Female Country native.
However, as the Nali people are coastal-living, this ocean-touched color didn’t appear out of place on this overseas-drifting princess.
The ssenger found this amusing but continued to address Alagina and Pahetz,
“The captain says that although the Storm Sea has been found, it’s dangerous based on his observations over the past few days. He wants to recruit capable individuals to explore it. He still wishes to invite you to join his exploration team; however, if you’re not willing, it’s okay. The captain said his prior promise still stands. If you wish to return to the Female Country, arrangents will be made when he returns to the Pirate Harbor this month.”
Pahetz did not respond, instead turning to Alagina as if waiting for her answer.
Pahetz has always known Alagina well; this heir to a Feudal Kingdom preferred peace and quiet over rushing about. It was undeniable that for the Feudal Kingdom once dominated by her mother’s tyranny, a Lord like Alagina was exactly what the people needed. But placed elsewhere, who knows?
Alagina was silent for a mont. Under the quiet gaze of the crew, she lifted her deep blue eyes and decisively said,
“I understand, so please let us join the Black Chief’s exploration of the Storm Sea, but regarding the exploration’s findings…”
Perhaps even the ssenger hadn’t expected this normally dutiful Female Country Captain would agree to the Black Chief’s invitation so readily. When the Black Chief sent him, he hadn’t held much hope for Alagina agreeing, knowing that Alagina was here only for the “return to the Northern Realm” reward from the Black Chief.
But why today…
“Don’t worry, the captain said sharing the exploration findings equally is fine.”
“Hooray!”
Isabella jumped up with a dagger in hand, smiling, and the other crew mbers seed eager. The combative and exploratory spirit of the Female Country won was unmistakable at this mont. Otherwise, where do you think their winter habit of sailing to hunt sea ghosts cos from?
Pahetz was sowhat surprised but, looking at Alagina’s determined expression, roughly understood.
This is similar to losing weight for Old Jack, isn’t it?
Or is it that, when resupplying at the Pirate Harbor, you saw Fisher again?
Pahetz smiled knowingly without further questioning. The romance and goals of young people are complex, and she is already old, only knowing how to attract the opposite sex by losing weight, probably never returning to the days of youthful fury for a blue-eyed man, just following the captain’s orders is enough; Ossie, on the other hand, didn’t really have any opinions, only pondering what kind of place the Storm Sea truly was.
“The Storm Sea isn’t far from here, the coordinates are here. Since Captain Alagina has agreed, I’ll return to the ship to report back, farewell.”
