“Stop, who are you people, don’t move!!”
The silhouettes in the forest quickly closed the distance between themselves and Fisher’s group. In the dense jungle, there was the sound of hooves stepping on gravel, armor plates clashing, and footsteps overlapping. Mikhail’s right arm began to glow faintly, but the rapidly rising boundary values in the phosphorescence in front of him made him pause slightly. His right arm quickly dimd again, becoming an ordinary prosthetic.
Helair yawned with a smile, as if none of this concerned her at all. She moved behind the group to enjoy the scenery.
However, the figures appearing ahead didn’t really require her attention. Soon, a group of deer-n, half-human and half-deer like them, appeared in front of Fisher’s group. Their rank was about Fifth to Sixth Rank level. Though the leading deer-n wore clothes made of coarse cloth, their attire was distinctly formal, unlike any style from the Western Continent or the South Continent. Many of them wore light armor and had wooden bows on their backs.
The leading male deer-man was robust but unarmored. His clothes were of a different dark green hue. Unlike the female deer-n, the male had a pair of beautiful white antlers, with tallic ring-like decorations on them. He wore a treasure sword on his waist, exuding a faint aroma.
The shout just now ca from him.
“Father!”
The little female deer-man, startled by Tangze Asuka, quickly got up and ran towards the deer-man, seemingly quite frightened by the magical circuits glowing on Tangze Asuka.
“Lu Ming, are you okay?”
“I’m fine, they…”
As Fisher saw Helair completely invisible behind him and Mikhail looking fiercely unapologetic, he was about to step forward to explain when Hooked kiss already moved ahead first. Bowing with both hands towards the deer-man in front of him, he smiled and said,
“I deeply apologize for the offense. I am Hooked kiss, and these are my companions resting here. We ant no harm to your daughter; it was rely a misunderstanding. I hope you understand.”
The leading deer-man did not expect his counterpart to be so courteous, so he raised his hand in return and asked,
“Lu An, Guest Elder of the Pri Minister’s Mansion from Chun Country. This land is my master’s hunting ground; outsiders are not permitted to intrude. How did you co here?”
“I’ve long admired you. I was about to say this. To be frank, we hail from the Angel Sanctuary, here to celebrate the King’s Birthday. Please inform the Minister of our intentions and request an introduction to Uncle Chun.”
As Hooked kiss spoke, he stepped aside to reveal Helair, like a mascot, waving harmlessly at them.
Fisher felt extrely unfamiliar with this foreign custom he had never encountered. He raised an eyebrow, quietly leaned towards Hooked kiss, and glanced at the distant male deer-man, who claid to be “Lu An,” asking,
“Do you know him? Is he famous on the Tree Continent?”
“I don’t know who he is. I’ve never even been to Uncle Chun’s place. I don’t know the Minister who manages the affairs of Chun Country, let alone his guest elder.”
“…”
Fisher roughly understood that Hooked kiss’s “long admired” was just a polite saying, not that he knew the person well.
Tangze Asuka, standing nearby, touched her backside, stood up, looked at the circle of deer-n around her, swallowed, and quickly ran back to Fisher’s side, surreptitiously glancing at the small deer Lu Ming hiding next to Lu An.
Initially, she too was startled by Lu Ming’s appearance, but soon, as she snuck glances, she beca quite curious about her. Of course, Lu Ming was also secretly observing her.
Lu An was silent for a mont. Although Hooked kiss’s Helair didn’t seem threatening, the angel halo above her head was undeniably real. She even smiled and waved at Lu An. After all, being an angel implied that Helair before him was comparable to the Elf Lords. Although his knowledge of Elf Lords was limited to Uncle Chun, it didn’t stop him from imagining what other Elf Lords, who were higher and mightier than Uncle Chun, looked like.
So he imdiately bowed to Helair and said,
“I understand. Please follow , and I will report this matter to the Minister at once for him to decide.”
“Thank you. Everyone, let’s set off.”
Hooked kiss appeared relieved, saying this to the people behind him.
But for unknown reasons, Helair behind him lost interest and yawned, looking around casually, letting Hooked kiss take the lead. Tangze Asuka took a deep breath, ran to retrieve the water-filled flask by the river, handed it to Helair for them to store, while Fisher watched Helair’s thoughtful expression towards the deer-n and resud the interrupted topic, asking,
“What do you an by helping advance to the mythical species?”
“Eh, Fisher, do you perhaps have a liking for demi-humans?”
Surprisingly, Helair didn’t answer his question. Instead, she gazed at the distant deer-n and asked.
