"Who are you people? At your level, you don’t look like slaves. What are you doing here?"
The voice ca from the Phoenix in the river. Her voice was pleasant yet cold, wrapped tightly with thick Frost Phoenix Wings around her body.
Fisher closed his eyes and took a deep breath. The fla of his desire for reproduction was showing signs of losing control, and the once icy Fluid Sword in his hand had beco scorching due to his heated body temperature. He didn’t imdiately answer her question, instead, he asked,
"We an no harm. It was Uncle Chun who introduced us to seek help from the Phoenix. She is my companion and only wanted to wash her body here... But are you sure you want to converse under these circumstances?"
The Phoenix paused slightly when she saw Fisher’s closed eyes, then looked down at the pitifully cold Tangze Asuka. Saying nothing, she fluttered her wings and slowly subrged into the water, quickly swimming downstream,
"My clothes are downstream. Once you’re done, follow the river to find , and I’ll take you to see my father."
"..."
Fisher didn’t respond to her, nor did he open his eyes. He simply turned his head, bent down, and walked back toward where he originally stood, not forgetting to say to Tangze Asuka,
"Finish quickly and co up."
"Oh... Yes!"
As the Phoenix slowly left, the river’s temperature began to rise. Just monts ago, Tangze Asuka felt freezing, but now it seed incredibly warm.
She dared not stand up, only sneaking glances as Fisher disappeared into the trees by the riverbank, her little face flushed red with heat, even though she felt so cold just a mont ago...
No matter, hurry up and finish washing, it’s so embarrassing!
She resignedly splashed water on her face, rapidly washing herself.

Tangze Asuka was a reliable child. If not for the earlier incident, her bathing ti wouldn’t have exceeded ten minutes. When she returned with a flushed face, Fisher was already calmly leaning against a thick tree branch.
"Mr. Fisher, I’m done bathing... I was so scared earlier, you don’t know. While I was washing, a head suddenly popped out of the water across the river. Tangze Asuka waved her small fists cutely, then recalled Fisher appearing behind her earlier, unsure whether he saw anything. This uncertainty made her quite shy, abruptly stopping her speech.

But Fisher didn’t ntion any suggestions, and neither did Tangze Asuka about whether he saw anything earlier... They tacitly avoided the topic, but the scenery and emotions left in their hearts showed no sign of fading, instead adding a hint of ambiguity to their current conversation.
"It’s alright. I was just worried sothing might happen to you. The demi-human you saw earlier is probably the Phoenix we’re looking for. Her unguarded appearance here suggests we are very close to the Phoenix’s dwelling. Let’s head out to find that demi-human."
"...Uh-huh."
Fisher calmly turned and walked, while Tangze Asuka bit her lip and responded a second later.
As expected, Mr. Fisher is a mature and reliable adult. Even if he saw sothing, he wouldn’t react obviously, or rather, he wouldn’t react to an ordinary high school student like herself...
She felt both relieved and a little disappointed, but the heartbeat hidden away began to slow a bit again. She patted her cheeks and quickly caught up with Fisher ahead, and soon, she left those small emotions behind. Perhaps it was due to the bath, but Fisher felt her mood had noticeably improved.
"Mr. Fisher, the Phoenix! Up ahead!"
This river was extrely long, and it was unknown how that Phoenix swam so far to where Tangze Asuka had bathed before. With Fisher and Tangze Asuka’s pace, they walked for about a quarter of an hour before seeing the Phoenix by the waterfall at the riverbed’s end where it widened.
