At that mont, Tangze Asuka suddenly felt soone patting her on the shoulder. When she sluggishly opened her eyes and turned her head, she saw Helair stretching lazily, floating up from the chair, looking all set to depart.
"Hey, hey, hey? But... wasn’t the Helair Angel only just agreeing with Mr. Fischer to stay here?"
Helair gave Tangze Asuka a disdainful look, then extended a finger to tap her forehead, smiling as she said,
"Oh dear, calling him ’Mr. Fischer’ with every breath, do you do whatever he says? Let tell you a little secret, being obsequious might be sothing that charms n, but the unexpected yields better results... Ah, a delicate girl going on the battlefield makes people protective, you know, off you go!"
"Hey, hey, hey?! Isn’t this going to... ah, ah, cause trouble for Mr. Fischer?"
Before Tangze Asuka could protest, Helair lightly waved her index finger and magically lifted Tangze Asuka, placing her on her shoulder. Then she leisurely floated to the edge of the grand hall, peering outside.
Once she confird the direction, Helair finally rembered to look back at the dumbfounded Phoenixes standing there, and she said with a smile,
"No need to worry, we’ll be back soon."
Then, without flying, she carried Tangze Asuka down the massive tree in free fall, riding the sound of Tangze Asuka’s scream all the way into the distance.
"..."
The Phoenix Clan Leader only reacted after watching Helair swiftly disappear from the edge of the grand hall. He anxiously glanced at the curtain behind him, cold sweat breaking out on his forehead, and hastily whispered,
"My wife, she... she’s an Angel! She’s from the Holy Land! How can she be so careless! She just left like that, if she’s discovered by envoys from the Royal Capital... her being a Body and Soul Mythical Species is one thing, but if we’re caught harboring a Holy Land guest, we’re in trouble!"
The curtain didn’t stir at all, and from behind it, not even a hint of a figure could be seen. The Phoenix Clan Leader lowered his head, waiting for a response, then puzzled, he leaned forward slightly,
"My wife?"
"Don’t move, Dad!"
The next mont, the curtain swayed slightly, and out hopped a petite girl wagging a jade ruyi at the Clan Leader. Couldn’t she be his little daughter, Little Nephilim?
"Oh dear, my little ancestor, what are you doing with your mother’s ruyi?"
"Mother said she couldn’t be bothered to listen to you grumbling, if you’re going to help, then go all the way, don’t be indecisive! If you nag again she’ll sleep with tonight... Uh, and, Mother said, don’t underestimate an Angel, her brain is better than yours, just sit and rest."
The Phoenix Clan Leader opened his mouth, glanced at Little Nephilim, and after pausing for a mont, he softly asked,
"Is that all she said?"
"Yes."
Once confird, the Clan Leader finally let out a sigh of relief, then with a soured face, he embraced the little daughter who had threatened him, patting her bottom and her little chicken-wing-like wings, scolding,
"You cheeky girl, trying to act like your mother and threaten ? Still haven’t grown all your feathers!"
"Ahhh, Mother! Dad’s hitting ! When I grow all my feathers, I want to be like Mom and sister too! I want to be a Clan Leader! I want to be the Phoenix... whimper!"
Before she could finish speaking, the "Phoenix Clan Leader" pinched her mouth shut and cradled his adorable daughter, squeezing her chubby cheeks.
And as the curtain cald down from the ripple caused by Little Nephilim, it beca as still as usual, as if nothing existed behind it...
But if anyone had approached the curtain twice lifted by Nephilim just now, they’d have discovered behind it sat a figure with wings as vast as the sky...
And that figure’s aura was astonishing, clearly surpassing the Mythical Rank standard of "Body and Soul", yet the curtain, though seemingly thin, silently isolated any attention.
If not for Little Nephilim lifting the curtain twice, Mr. Fischer wouldn’t have noticed there was soone behind the "Phoenix Clan Leader" at all.
