He could sense that as he observed these soldiers, they were also watching him. However, their gazes were anything but friendly, even carrying a hint of disdain. Yet, as Chu Xiu passed by, each one of them knelt on one knee to show respect.

At that mont, Chu Xiu’s eyes suddenly flickered, looking toward a certain room.
It was an unremarkable house tucked away in a corner of the military camp, like the others, sealed with a thick steel door.
A gentle female voice emanated from within.
"Seventh Brother, the Elders from the temple have arrived. Quickly put away your things, don’t let them see."
Soon after, a young male voice filled with disdain spoke up: "What are you afraid of? How could those bald monks who only know how to chase won possibly co to such a filthy place?"

The girl’s voice gradually weakened, and the young man fell silent as well.

Within the room were nurous books, at a glance at least a hundred of them, along with many old modern artifacts, so large like discarded appliances, others small like simple toys, filling several cabinets densely.
Clearly, each item had been carefully categorized and well preserved.
This sight made the already bloodless faces of the three even paler!
If the few forbidden items before could still be barely explained away, perhaps executing one or two people would gloss it over; the multitude of forbidden items before them undeniably pointed to treason, impossible to easily ignore.
Not even the death of one or two people would suffice; even the General might accompany them to their demise!
The young man’s face was ashen, and the other two were filled with despair.

This sight deepened the despair on the faces of the others.
They had never seen, no, not even heard of such a mysterious Divine Technique before! The person before them must be an influential figure within the Buddhist Sect.
Chu Xiu, however, was unconcerned with what the three thought. In truth, he cared not about what was forbidden or not, nor about their secret maneuvers.
He was rely drawn by sensing nurous books with his Divine Sense and ca over for a glance.
